I don’t like the new ones with them being to futuristic. Have skipped on those and this was welcoming. Didn’t buy the expansion packs this time as if you been playing for a while. They just upgrade the greaphics of old maps you have played in previous versions. This is getting old and losing interest in FPS for call of duty and Battlefield. We need someone else to bring some infantry fighting online as these are stale.

Typically I usually only play CoD for the story and don’t care for the multiplayer, but this game kept my attention longer than any of the recent Call of Duty’s and I actually enjoy the multiplayer as well as the single player. Storming the beaches of Normandy was insane, and for the first time, it looked as good on screen as the old games did in my head. If you’re a fan on the old WW2 games, Band of Brothers, or Saving Private Ryan, you owe it to yourself to play this game.

The single player mode is short but good. If you're getting online to play this by yourself it is a pretty good game. If you are trying to get together with friends, it can be very frustrating. Often getting errors when forming a squad, and a good likelihood that when you get the squad together and launch into an online game that you will be split up into totally different games.

This has been my favorite COD in a while. It brings you back to the days of World at War and not being able to pay to win. The campaign is lacking, not very impactful and lacking a lot of what World War 2 was and rather deciding to focus on character development which I think is a missed opportunity to do both easily. Zombies is great and terrfying, it will give kids and those who don’t love horror movie nightmares, it’s great. Could be better but very enjoyable overall

The game is pretty good.. wish the storyline was longer considering this is why I buy the game.. I think it more so for ppl who like repetition in just shooting other players online with no real basis it behind it. That’s why Tom Clancy’s Division and Wildlands are superior to this style of game because it’s online but all players are working together for a common goal.. and I’ve played Call of Duty since it released on pc in its early stages.. so much potential lost..

CoD WW2 - fun but not ground breaking

I have played the majority of CoD games since the original WW2. The multiplayer is fun, and some changes add a new wrinkle but it's similar to previous iterations but with different maps and weapons. The campaign steals from several prior movies/games, including the opening battle scene straight out of Saving Private Ryan. Though I haven't played a lot of it, the zombies game play is fun and more challenging with more to it than survive wave after wave.

I'm a huge Call of Duty Fan. When this game went back to WW2 I was so excited. I loved the modern Warfare and Black Ops games, but infinite Warfare was DUMB! Anyway, they changed the game play to needing med packs, ammo packs, grenade packs and it's just not the same. It's challenging, but I'm not a fan. I bought it on release day weekend and barely play. D2 and Battlefront 2 are more my style. I'm sure I'll go back and play this one, but it's not my fave.

When I heard, "boots on the ground", I was very excited. FINALLY call of duty is going back to it's roots. But the game play is very dated, the graphics look dated. The overall feeling is that of an old game, even though this just recently came out. There are a ton of online problems, as expected in the beginning stages of a cod game. But with the ongoing connection issues and imbalances, along with the overall old feel of the game, I wouldn't recommend it

I personally liked the return to the boots to the ground in comparison to the last few years of advanced movement. However, the game still has the same issues and if you don't like Call of Duty as much due to spawn issues and fast times to kill, you're not going to come back to it. But other than that, the story was pretty bland, but it was still fun in the end once you get used to playing the game.

Back to boots on the ground feels so good!! Finally you can strategize your moves without enemies flyong over you or laser beams hitting you from a mile away. Nice maps and smooth most times gameplay. Movement feels good and hit detection is good. Still have stupid quick scoping which sometimes during replay looks like a cheap kill. Campaign is difficult in a good way but alot fun. If u loved ops 2 on.ps3 u will love this. Great job finally on a cod game!!

I have been playing COD games for over a decade. The series progression, however, became bloated and immature with every iteration after Black Ops in my opinion. WWII was a return to that nostalgia of the first Modern Warfare and not as bloated with features and a corny story-line. Loot boxes and in game purchases remain controversial but I did not find the game lacking without them.

CoD makes it's return to the 20th century in standout fashion with a engaging campaign that makes you feel like a member of a group of soldiers and not one man in a shooting gallery. The boots on the ground style game play also brings the series back to it's multiplayer roots and provides an addictive experience. If you're like me and have sat on the sidelines as the series jumped into the future and then space this is the game you have been waiting for!

If you want a dull colored game or maybe just a short campaign mode then this is for you. Obviously a incomplete game dressed up as one, 1 zombie map, small handful of multiplayer maps and zero quality in the campaign/game over all. Expect tons of paid DLC to fix the incomplete game that was sold and if your favorite colors are grey, brown, black and forest green then this is a game for you. Wait till the price drops you aren't missing anything.

I primarily bought the game to play multiplayer online with my friends and we wind up having to spend more time in a lobby searching for a game only for someone to get a black screen, dropped, then have to restart their application to re-join. Also if you do too good in a game it's very likely the chance that it will freeze up, kick you out and your stats won't count. It makes completing the Daily and Weekly Orders a hassle. Very disappointing.

Finally, our boots are back-on-the-ground! Tired of 'infinite warfare' out there in those faraway exotic settings, well "CoD WWII" is a refreshing relief, despite fighting for you and your commandos'/teammates' digital lives. It's great to storm-troop through earthy ruins, war torn landscapes, and militarized zones while blasting away at the earthbound enemy army. Overall Rating 7!

I have played every CoD. This one is good, but it still doesn’t match up to the older CoDs before they decided they want jet packs and moon boots on everyone. This CoD is just like the ones with the jet packs. Recycled material, in a new cover. If you are looking to play a call of duty. Then this is the game for you. If you are looking for a game in general. Buy Battlefront 2. Both have their Pros and cons, but battlefront wins for me

First, this game has some of the better graphics I have seen on PS4. It rivals Rise of Tomb Raider for next graphics Next, if your like me and don't like the futuristic direction if the later COD games (jump packs! ) and prefer the original war games this is perfect for you. WW2 games many are out there. But that opening beach scene is still awesome to see. Haven't played online but I assume it's like every other COD game

I have always been a fan of the COD games and am glad to see a "boots on the ground" version of the game instead of bouncing all over the place. The only issue I have is all the campers which to me ruins the fun in the game, but this is nothing new with COD and not the games fault. Great graphics and fun game, but be prepared to spend a lot of time playing if you want to rank up. It takes a LONG time to rank up and Prestige!

I was hoping this COD would be an upgrade in being fun to play in Multiplayer from the recent previous COS's but once again the multiplayer is cartoonish, sound effects are lame and the maps are small. Campaign mode was good however. I give it a 3.5 to 4 Stars. But let's face it ! Most people, after completing the Campaign, they play Multiplayer the rest of the time. I'll take it in for "store credit" and try something else out.
