    Basic is an understatement

To think that the space age COD has certainly almost out stayed its welcome, and old school was well over due. How wrong I was. Battlefield took full advantage of this a year ago and nailed it with the game play action, along with slight lack luster weapons. However COD tried to resurrect the glory days and honestly I'm really disappointed. It seems overly basic with the maps, game play action, a much faster paced shoot-out that almost certainly feels like hardcore deathmatch with incredible camping spots-- it's so easy to get a kill or be killed in a 10 second span. The maps are no where near what I expected, very simplistic, tons of corner camp locations, relatively small which is pretty typical in COD, and the main menu is somewhat unorthodox. As far as zombies.... well, Zombies are a lot easier to kill then what we've been accustomed to dealing with. The mystery box is a bit difficult to spot, and having not spent enough time to say if pack-a-punch still exists. The juggernaut and all other perks have taken on new names and new looks, along with a couple additional perks such as melee damage upgrade. Hey, remember when we could board up windows? Well, say bye-bye cause from what what I've seen it doesn't exist anymore, at least when I attempted, it didn't even pop up. I'm very disappointed with the franchise, having already thought last years Infinite Warfare might have regressed the franchise. However, Infinite continued to grow, make changes, and add upgrades to enhance the modern gameplay. But seeing that we have gone waaayyy back in time, unless COD plans to put a modern day twist into old school I don't see how this years copy will get any better. As I said last year, it unfortunately may be another downward trend in COD, that may have lost its touch a bit. Sadly this time around it may have to concede to the rising Battlefield. Hope this helps, enjoy! GAME ON!

    Terrible. Camp Central

If you thought camping was bad before wait till you play this. It's downright terrible the endless possibilities waiting around for kills, not to mention the refined art of spawn camping. Easiest kills is just waiting for them to spawn back up or them waiting for you. You can kill or be killed at least 5 times in a 10 second period. Probably the smallest and most simplistic maps ever created in COD history. I certainly thought jumping and flying over stayed it's welcome but I sure do miss it after this year's edition. 3 days...and I traded it in. Certainly there's lots of people who will defend this due to franchise loyalty... do some of us of favor and let the realist take some real advice. STAY AWAY! Total disappointment. 2 stars just because COD has delivered in the past.

    Sniper focused

I played online for about two weeks before I sold it. I got sick of getting killed by snipers quick scoping, and had to get rid of it. I only purchased it to play multiplayer as I am not into the COD campaigns or zombies. The multiplayer maps were all sniper/rifle focused. I enjoy up close battles with SMGs and using the maps to cater to the fire rate advantage they have, but there was little to no opportunity for that as you are constantly getting shot by sniper rifles from ridiculous and impractical quick scoping.

This COD game is a lot better than the last one as far as maps and options go (in my opinion). BUT I have been unable to get to online multiplayer since I bought the game. I logged on set it up, played two games with mega glitching and haven't been able to access since. A lot of people have reported the same issue, a real disappointment when you pay $60 for a game to not be able to access one of the biggest features. If it starts working I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars because the maps are interesting.

When I heard, "boots on the ground", I was very excited. FINALLY call of duty is going back to it's roots. But the game play is very dated, the graphics look dated. The overall feeling is that of an old game, even though this just recently came out. There are a ton of online problems, as expected in the beginning stages of a cod game. But with the ongoing connection issues and imbalances, along with the overall old feel of the game, I wouldn't recommend it

If you want a dull colored game or maybe just a short campaign mode then this is for you. Obviously a incomplete game dressed up as one, 1 zombie map, small handful of multiplayer maps and zero quality in the campaign/game over all. Expect tons of paid DLC to fix the incomplete game that was sold and if your favorite colors are grey, brown, black and forest green then this is a game for you. Wait till the price drops you aren't missing anything.

I primarily bought the game to play multiplayer online with my friends and we wind up having to spend more time in a lobby searching for a game only for someone to get a black screen, dropped, then have to restart their application to re-join. Also if you do too good in a game it's very likely the chance that it will freeze up, kick you out and your stats won't count. It makes completing the Daily and Weekly Orders a hassle. Very disappointing.

I was hoping this COD would be an upgrade in being fun to play in Multiplayer from the recent previous COS's but once again the multiplayer is cartoonish, sound effects are lame and the maps are small. Campaign mode was good however. I give it a 3.5 to 4 Stars. But let's face it ! Most people, after completing the Campaign, they play Multiplayer the rest of the time. I'll take it in for "store credit" and try something else out.

Campaign and zombies is fun and nice. I bought this game particularly for the online multiplayer, but since launch day the online multiplayer hasn't been working and I haven't been able to play. I'm looking to sell this game now or trade it in. Until they fix their server issues for ps4 i recommend waiting to pick up this game. Xbox users have nothing to worry about. From what I heard Xbox is working ok. It's just ps4 users

It’s another negligible yearly release. This is the first CoD I have played since BO1 and the game still suffers from network problems and awful spawn locations. Being a user who has good internet, you’re punished because the game caters to those with bad connections. Zombie mode is actually great fun which is the only reason I didn’t rate this game a 1 star.

Call of duty WW2 is not all that great. Yes it is boots on the ground and world war 2 (no future stuff) but it has problems such as hit detection, lack of customization, and worst of all--a small amount of multiplayer maps. Zombies are okay, story is alright but multiplayer still needs an improvement! I suggest you wait for the next call of duty game.

If you have been a fan of the COD franchise, then you will probably like this. It does go away from the space stuff and jet packing, but still full of poor gun play and poor hit detection. Just not a fan of the game itself. Love the era they went to, but just not happy with the game at all.

The campaign was amazing!! Zombies is perfectly done! But multiplayer is where it fails. The multiplayer is so bad. Campers, disconnect, horrible hit detection. They'll fix everything obviously but it's too late. Battlefront 2 releases soon and everyone will forget this game for a while.

The game had potential, however it’s riddled with technical issues. Terrible spawns, hit detection, lack of content (only 9 multiplayer maps, not many weapons), poor map design are just several things that can make it very frustrating to play. Very disappointing.

This is last year's call of duty which was last year's call of duty which was last year's call of duty and so on. If you're ok with that, get it. If fatigue is setting in, skip this one and get another FPS

Single player campaign is short, has a few good moments but is pretty boring. Multiplayer is bad, half the features don't work. QS is out of control, only 9 maps. Gets worn out really quick.

Apart from the rather decent campaign mode (albeit a tired and overused story), this game is just like the rest of Activision's money grubbing cookie cutters.
