    Pretty good for monitoring activity, however I don't really like the fact that the abnormal air notifications provide no detail on what made it abnormal.

    This overall is great. Good picture quality but it does have spotty connection, a bit of a notification delay and the video cuts in and out some.

    Had a break in at my house not long ago and wish I would have had this camera before that. The camera can be a little sensitive to movement but I also can move the sensitivity down. Notifications to my phone aren't always consistent but overall happy with the product.

    After having this product for a couple months, it does what I want it to do. Software at times can be buggy where notifications may not be triggered and/or the geofencing doesn't always work (the app believes I'm not home even though I'm home). However, overall the camera functions well.

    Does not act as an auto deterrent to burglars BC the siren is not automatic. Push notifications are heavily delayed. So a burglary could be happening and you wouldn't even know

    The Canary is an ok security camera. It sends videos whenever it detects movement when I have put it in away mode. There is a delay in notification. It only sends a notification once it has stopped recording. If it were an intruder, the late notification might be a problem. The video sometimes doesn't accurately reflect the color of clothing people are wearing. I haven't figured this out yet. I think most problems will be minimized or cleared up if I paid for monitoring. This device is ok, but not worth the $170 I paid.

    Good indoor camera however it lacks an important feature, 2 way audio. It records everything and detects motion, however it is delayed - notifications come in a couple of minutes after motion has been detected at home. If you use the timeline feature and playback your videos, the time lapse during the recording is very apparent - chunks of recorded time are missing, stops recording without notifying you of an issue. Value for money: Average : @@@@@@@@

    Poor notifications when motion was detected. By the time you get notifications that someone is in your home they will be long gone. That's if you get any notifications at all. I returned it and will something more reliable.

    Died 30 minutes after installing

    Setup was painless and the iOS app is functional (though a little basic) It worked well for the 30 minutes before it died. I noticed that the app indicated the Canary device was offline (surprisingly this did not result in a notification to my iPhone) When I checked the device, I found that it was dead. Tried connecting to a different outlet (on the very odd chance that there was an issue with the outlet) but nothing, I'll be returning the Canary tomorrow. If their quality control is that poor, I'm not taking a chance on replacing it with another one.

    While the camera works great and records good quality video, the app used to control it is lackluster and problematic. I've had this unit for little over a month and have already had to delete and reload the app twice because it stopped working properly. I've had numerous instances where the app would not switch from away mode to home mode, so I had to unplug the camera to actually turn it off. You cannot control the camera via the website either which is a problem (especially since the app doesn't always work). There is no option to receive an audible notification or text that activity has been detected and videos will show up hours or sometimes days after the activity has been recorded.

    Too long to get notifications

    The camera is excellent even in night mode. It's overall a decent product considering it's size. My issue was that it took too long to notify of movement. The alarm was set and my daughter had time to enter the house, grab her keys off the table and go back out. When I did get the notification I viewed the video and it didn't show her entering at all.

    close but no cigar

    Enjoy the watch live feature but the notifications are not consistent. Sometimes it works but most of the time there is no notification of activity. When out of town I can tell if my home is still there by checking my phone but it could be burglarized or worse without me knowing it. The activity is recorded but no notification is sent. Still a nice toy for the money.

    I'm not great with technology speak, so this is going to be in layman's terms. The night vision is just as good as the regular camera. It took me a while to get the hang of the app & setting my preferences, but once you figure it out, it's smooth sailing. I get notifications on movement fairly quick. The only thing I wish would be different is for it to have two-way communication, but I can live without it. Like any app, it freezes here and there, but I haven't had enough issues to complain.

    I was told by salesperson that I could talk to my dogs while away from home with this device. I don't believe I can, or if that is a feature, I haven't figured it out. Nor has my BF who is tech savvy. Despite that, I really like this camera! It sends a notification to me when the dogs are restless & has the ability for me to sound a siren if they become unruly.

    Excellent customer support. Very good picture. Easy to set up. My only problem is I can't hear the notification to my phone. I would be totally satisfied if I could assign a very loud ring tone to the notification alert. I checked with apple and they said the manufacture had to add this capability to the phone app. I called Canary people and they said they will consider adding this to the app.

    Canary has been useful for keeping tabs on house

    My Canary has been great so far. It's been really helpful to be able to have live video of what's happening inside my apartment while I'm at work or traveling, especially since I have a number of maintenance issues and have workers coming in and out of my apartment frequently when I'm not home. Pros: - The design is small, sleek and modern and blends in next to my router. Unless I pointed it out most people wouldn't realize what it's. - Like I said, the live video has been great for keeping tabs on the people working on my apartment. - Setup was simple and only took a few minutes. - I have joint access to the account with my girlfriend and we both have the ability to check on what's happening in the apartment. - The camera's resolution is a much higher quality than I expected, and the night vision is very clear as well. Cons: - The device seems like it's still struggling to recognize my girlfriend and I, and I often get a notification when I come home or leave. - If a truck or car causes a reflection to travel across our apartment when there isn't a lot of light in the living room, like in the morning or evening, it sometimes sets off the device and sends us an alert.

    The camera has good quality during the day or night. It has a wider angle lens versus the competitors, so expect a bit of a fish-eye look to the camera footage. Item works as advertised, but it has very basic functions at the moment. For example there is no way to view the recorded video on a computer browser, you must view the footage from your phone only. They did state an update is coming where you can view the imagine on a computer. Its great that is has temp, VOC and humidity reader, but you can only view the last 24 hours. So it wont be replacing my Netmo anytime soon. Also it would be great if it had a notification function if the temp hits a certain degree. Missing functions as being able to set notification options is also lacking. Auto disarm, and rearm functions well for me. Nice to be able to use fingerprint sensor on my iPhone to access the app was a nice touch. As it stands today, it has a lot of potential, but in its current state it can definitely use a new features.

    Not Ready for Retail Market...

    I have been waiting for this to hit the shelves for months... in hopes it would preform as advertised. Despite of all of the not so great reviews around - not here though??? Some same reviews here as other places Hmmm...? I picked one up yesterday and returned it today - Beta product at best. I am a very techie guy - family/friends go to guy for tech problems etc.. . Setup through the app went smooth as silk - even with a few minute firmware upgrade. Did a login - set all settings as needed in app and on iPhone for notification and location services etc.. . Then I put the Canary where it had a sweet spot of viewing the main living area - OK lets try this beauty out. It is designed beautiful and to be discrete in any setting. UGH! I got one notification of motion and that was it - never would give a notification again without unplugging Canary or logging out of app. Tried Geo-fencing - that worked once than gave false aways while myself and phone were in the house and vise/versa. I tried everything - rebooting Canary - uninstalling app etc.. . with similar beta type results. I would try to move in front of camera to set it off, buy was very hit and miss results. Rarely sent a notification of motion alert to iPhone. Live video was clear when it was not freezing or going to a black screen. App would also freeze up and I would have to reboot my phone. And yes I have a fast cable internet speeds and I tried the Canary wireless and connected via lan cable. I think the motion detection is being done through the camera and not a motion sensor... Canary needs to reconsider using there cloud and let users record to their own storage or cloud device - on site or off. I have other HD cameras running off of my wifi network and record to a PC or other device and then it is sent immediately to a cloud service like DropBox. Works great with great video clips - Canary doesn't let you have any control of what it does record - not good. OK enough of the cons as this is getting too long - maybe second gen Canary...

      Thanks for your thorough feedback. It sounds like you’ve had some issues with your device not connecting. Hopefully you received our most recent firmware and app update update - that should have made your experience a lot more stable. Your Canary records any motion detected by the camera, and if you want to record anything in addition, you can access the Watch Live screen and tap “record”. CanaryCo
