I always used to just buy any printer without consideration of the lifetime ink supply cost. But after at least 6 different printers that literally sucked the carts dry after what always seemed like far too few print jobs, lately I've given more consideration into the actual operating costs of the printer, and not just the enticing "sale" price. Once I got a great deal on a very nice laser printer for just $99.00!' Only to find out less than 2 months later that the toner cartridge cost a whopping $200! So anyhow, the new Canon Pixma Series appear to offer a perfect blend of affordable initial cost for the printer AND the required carts , by Canon, also available at a decent, affordable price. I highly recommend purchasing the Canon brand ink. No matter what you do decide to purchase when it comes time for that first or subsequent ink purchase, steer VERY CLEAR of the "For Dummies" line of ink carts (yes, they have even gotten into selling ink too!) as those carts are WORTHLESS!!!

It's ink. It is necessary to run the printer.

I bought the product because my printer was out of ink, and it had to have ink in order to work. If you are out ink, you look for the best price and you buy it. I had a BB gift card, so I bought it there. If you are reading the reviews before you decide to buy ink for you printer, you are obviously looking for more than I can provide. What else can I say... The box was clearly marked. It is for a Canon printer, not to be confused with a Canon camera. Don't try to put this ink in your Canon camera. If you have a cannon, that's pretty cool, but I'm not sure this ink is going to work for you. Maybe, you could put the old empty ink tank in your cannon. Somebody do that and write a review. I want to know how it works before I invest in a cannon.

I really wish I could purchase it in the store. For some reason, the skinny black in the 225/226 series (required for my printer to work), is never in stock. Last two times, I had to order it in store and wait for it to arrive. Recommend purchasing a printer that doesn't use this particular ink jet cartridge.

So I purchased this cartridge to replace another in one of my latest printers. Didn't even noticed that this one needed 4 individual packs to run. My goodness, not totally made of money!... but it is cheaper than buying HP ink. Only by a margin. Make sure you use your rewards account for 15% off. *I would recommend only to those who have the respective printer. I don't recommend if you don't.

If your Canon printer uses this particular series of inkjet cartridges, then there is really no better choice to get top performance from your printer. Ink usage will vary depending on your settings but I usually have it set for the fastest speed which will provide a very good print copy for most documents such as receipts and will extend the life of the cartridge.

I agree with most of the people that have written reviews. Believe it or not.....it costs less at times to purchase a new printer that comes with in than buying the ink alone. Our stores have this model on sale all the time. Actually ran into a guy the other day who had like 6 of them in his shopping cart and said.....yeah buying the printer for the ink.

the ink cartridge is easy to install and the print quality is good therefore I've no negative comments about the product itself except that the price point is slightly high. to make it more affordable, Cannon could include it as part of their 4 ink cartridge pack i.e. make it a 5 ink cartridge pack along with CLI 226 C, M and Y ink cartridges plus CLI 225 BK.

I prefer to purchase Canon brand ink cartridges as opposed to generic cartridges. I appreciate that Best Buy carries the Canon brand. One of the main reasons I like purchasing these cartridges at Best Buy is their Best Buy Rewards Member 15% discount, and also their free shipping policy when ordering cartridges online. These savings add up over time!

These cartridges are going for $15 each and you need 5 of them to keep your color inkjet printer going....I find myself printing out 125-150 pages before certain colors run out...I am going to buy new ones 4 times a year which is costs me $75 each trip for a total of $300 a year....the cartridges should be bigger with more ink or half the price....

Canon ink cartridges are the best ones to use with Canon printers, Cheap copies, although more affordable, are not good for the printer and can cause clogging. Even cartridge refills can cause problems. Therefore, it is best to buy the original and I find that Best Buy offers the best price on these cartridges.

I thought I had spare ink, but in the middle of a print job, the Canon stopped working. It won't print if one of the cartridges is empty. This isn't included in the combo pack. Also, there are TWO black cartridges, and the other black was new, but Canon won't use that one. So you have to buy FIVE cartridges and at least three separate boxes

I've been using Canon printers for over a decade and they are amazing and when it comes to refilling my ink, I've always purchased OEM ink from Best Buy. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra few dollars and get the ink the product recommends. I've never had any issues and highly recommend this ink!

I got this to replace a MyPassport that was too low of a storage capacity. My only surprise was that Smartware no longer is valid for MyPassport. Instead WD Backup is what is supported. Not really bad, but different. Backups now occur each hour or daily instead of instantaneous with Smartware.

My Cannon printer takes a lot of ink because it does photo printing so I try to find sales or competitive prices. Having made some large purchases like a computer and accessories, Vitamix, and etc., I got a super deal on the ink. I most likely will purchase my ink from Best Buy. The service is the best I've every had.

I have been using Cannon Replacement ink cartridges with my Cannon printer since I first purchased the printer several years ago. They are very high quality, never get ink on my fingers when I handle them. They seem to last a responsible amount of time and don't seem to dry out from non use either.

I like that the canon ink doesn't stop working after a period of non-use. We do use our canon printer more than previous printers because the ink isn't as expensive, but with other printers we'd often try to print & couldn't because the cartridge pores dried up or something, & wouldn't work right anymore, even after cleanings.

It's hard to argue with the quality... so I won't. I just wish they would make it so that the ink lasts a little longer! Barely a couple hundred copies later - and I already need another cartridge...? Clearly, they are just seeding their customers for more frequent purchases! It does not make me a fan of the Canon company!

This ink brand is required for my Cannon printer, however I must agree that it is a high quality product. Price is OK and I wish it would last longer before disappearing (Like all inks), but I am very happy with the quality of the product. Beautiful, bold and perfect color, even on the very fine lines.

I learned the hard way that my Canon printer needs TWO black ink cartridges -- 226 BK and 225 PGBK. Apparently, one black (226) is used exclusively for images, and one (225) exclusively for text. When my PGBK cartridge ran dry, I thought the BK cartridge would take over, since it was still 75% full. Nope

I've always purchased these Canon ink cartridges at Best Buy because they offered a 5% discount if you used your Best Buy credit card. However, now they don't offer the discount anymore, which is disappointing... but, the ink cartridges do work fine and offer great printing quality.
