    The 281 photo blue ink for the Canon printer is very hard to find. Most places are out of it. Best Buy had it in stock!!..... but not at a local store. The closest store that had it in stock was more than 200 miles away. But they said I would have it in 3 days and to my surprise it came exactly when they said it would arrive.

    I have always used Canon ink in my Canon printers. On a couple of occasions, I have tried other inks, and soon my printer died. Not sure if it was the ink, as I never tried it on a new printer. When the ink is installed, the Canon printer does recognize it as official Canon ink. I print lots of color photos as well as color hand=outs for a class I teach.

    I bought this as a replacement cartridge in case I ran out quickly. As it turns out the printer hardly uses this color and the regular capacity cartridge is lasting much longer than expected. So, my recommendation would be that purchasing this XL capacity is a great idea since you save a little money and it will last quite some time.
