I was debating whether to buy the 'L' or this lens and this one won. After reading all reviews from web sites I went ahead and bought it and don't regret it. I use it on my Canon 5DII and 60D and the sharpness is incredible and the macro feature is a big plus. Focusing is fast and near silent. IS feature is a nice but not a necessity.

I got this lens to help me take nice photos of bees, but it turned out that it is easier to use my 55-300 lens for its quicker response and easiness of use.
