Great value for the money. The 24-70mm f/2.8 works much better in low light situations but lacks IS. So the 24-70mm f/4 is a great choice when you have enough available light.

I wanted a zoom lens for my 5D mark 4 and this fits my needs. I have shot indoors and outside and this F4 does a great job!

Great sharpness with every picture I have taken. Just went on vacation and the only sense I used was it! 24-70 canon sense best ever!!!!

    A Very Good Lens

First off, I have shot extensivly with this lens and its' big brother, the 24-70 f2.8 L II, the latter being INCREDIBLE, the images are so sharp from the f2.8 II version that you can cut yourself. Having said that this lens is not at all a bad lens, it is, in fact quite good, however it will always be compared to the f2.8 II version and when you do that the f2.8 wins every time. The quality of images coming from this lens is excellent to outstanding, where the 2.8 II is outstanding to incredible. This lens is well built, has image stabilization which helps ALOT in handheld situations, a focal length is very useful and a klunky macro mode that I have yet to use as I have dedicated macro lenses that are sharper. I have no doubt that this lens will spend alot of time on my camera this Summer as over the past few weeks I have already gotten some outstanding images using it, however for the price I was hoping for more. If this lens were priced at around $800-900 that would be fair, as it is currently priced, it is very expensive and not an excellent value for the money, but it is also very well built and very useful and a very, very good lens, my rating is actually 4.5 stars but there are no halvsies on this site so there it is.

Great lense if you can't afford the f/2.8

This is a great lens. I'm reestablishing myself as a photographer after some personal time away and working on rebuilding my lens collection. Having used this original 24-70 f/2.8, this lens is very comparable in quality. If you don't need the extra stop of light, this is great lens choice. As an added bonus, it has a macro mode. If you've ever wanted to explore the macro world, this lens would serve great as an "all purpose" lens.

It worth the money. IS is very useful with a hand handled and the quality of the lens is awesome! With $200 Canon rebate until the end of May, It is an incrediable value too.

The image quality is not that bad but I prefer F2.8 if you can pay for it.
