Customers are saying

Customers find value in the EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Standard Lens's exceptional image quality, dreamy bokeh, and impressive low-light performance, frequently praising its ability to achieve a shallow depth of field and produce sharp, clear images. However, some customers note that the autofocus can be slow, and the high price point may be a deterrent for some buyers. The lens's weight is a point of contention, with some finding it substantial while others appreciate its manageable size.

Great glass, great depth of field with the f/1.2. Yields fantastic images. Only con would be it takes slightly longer to focus than other lenses, though that time is forgivable.

Love this lens, so crisp. A little slow to focus, but worth it. Must have knowledge in back button focus - or you'll probably struggle with this one.

This lens captures some amazing images. Works great for super low light. No stabilization so not the best for high speed shooting but great all around lens.

Worth it to take the jump from the f/1.4 to this amazing f/1.2. Quickly became my go-to for weddings and other events that I shoot professionally. Great lens.

Nice clear photos. Af is a little slow and spotty in certain situations. Over all a really great lens to have in your bag. Pricey but worth it.

I have purchased three of these lenses over the years and each time I sell one and replace it, I have no regrets. Now I know you are asking why I sell my prior lenses and they just get so used and banged up I just want new ones. I just love this lens. Yes, I have many other 50mm but I always try to use this one more since it just takes GREAT photos with my my 1DX MkII. Spend the extra and get this lens, you'll thank me later!
