    the 50 mm lens is a good lens for Portrait Photography and I like the Image Stabilization in the 10-18 mm for video , its a good kit for beginners

    10-18mm to be used @ 10mm; 50mm awesome value!!!

    This lens should be used mostly at 10mm when there isn't much light. This will give you a 35mm equivalent of 16.2mm since you can only use this lens with a Canon crop body. I found that if you want to take a photo at 18 mm just use the 18-55mm f/4-5.6 instead of this lens. The lens provides a decent value. The EF 50 mm f/1.8 is invaluable and will be the best value lens of your collection.
