So much chromatic aberration, and af pretty slow and hunts a lot. Okay for beginners but you’ll grow out of it pretty quickly

It does take beautiful pictures. There was just one thing, I was new to taking pictures so i wasnt completely uderstanding why i kept on getting a black spot on my portraits then today it dawned on me there is a bubble inside my lens. So like i said pictures are great just didnt like how I got a defective lens happens to the best of us.

I have a Canon 5d Mark ii camera and this 50 mm lens would not focus automatically about every other time I tried to focus the camera. I returned the lens to Best Buy.

Absolutely love this prime lens. I don’t have the more expensive one so I’m not sure how to compare but for beginning photography it’s great.

I purchased this lens open box. In autofocus it worked amazing but the manual focus was out.

I have a 1.6 sensor on my Canon 50 D. This lens has too much telephoto to use as a lens for indoor christenings or wedding photography.

It's a Good lens but not impressed. If I had to choose between this and the 35, the 35 would be it for me

This lens is nothing short of amazing. For the amount of money, it really delivers a high quality sharp as tac image. LIke others have mentioned it is a lens to have in your bag. I was originally debating on whether or not to get it since I already had a 50mm 1.4, but I'm glad I did. The focal range is much different allowing you to get closer for more detailed shots versus the 50mm. I'm using a 7D and together these are a great combo. The only bummer part is the hood is not a screw on like other canon lenses i have. This one has to clip onto the lens.

I highly recommend this lens for portrait photography. Does great with creating that bokeh look and the lens itself is sturdy and well built. It's a Canon. You can't go wrong with that.

Phenomenal lens great for portraits. I would highly recomend getting this lens if you are starting photography and are on a budget. Quality for a decent price hands down.

This lens is a great piece of glass. I had been eyeing the 85mm for years, but never wanted to buy it thinking it wouldn't be as good as a more costly one. WRONG! This lens is great for portraits and I have done more than that with it. I am glad I bought it and can't wait to take more photos with it.
