Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the EF-EOS R5, EOS R6, EOS R, and EOS RP Lens Mount Adapter for its compatibility with a wide range of EF lenses, ease of use, and affordability. It allows photographers to continue using their existing EF lenses on their new mirrorless cameras, saving them money and preserving their investment. The build quality is solid, and the adapter works flawlessly, delivering sharp images without vignetting. While some customers find the control ring unnecessary, the overall consensus is that this adapter is a must-have accessory for photographers who want to use their EF lenses on their EOS R series cameras.

This adapter works great with my markii so I can still use my 50mm lens that I bought prior to my mirrorless camera. The images are still great quality!

I was hearing mixed reviews of people using this adapter with their EF canon lenses - but you literally cannot tell a difference in the quality! Save yourself money and keep your old lenses and use this bad boy. It's perfect and will get you those high quality lens shots even if they aren't RF lenses. The price is great too in my opinion - also, just get this one instead of any knock offs.

Essential piece of kit for legacy lenses

This adapter makes using your legacy Canon EF lenses seamless on an R6, R5 or other mirrorless Canon body. The only difference you will notice is that the lenses are slightly longer, but there is no difference in performance or sharpness. It is an essential piece of kit for those making the transition from DSLR’s to mirrorless, or those who want to use both kinds of cameras and keep their lens lineup.

Works great unless you use third partly lenses

I really enjoyed the EOS R but unfortunately, I had to return it due to issues I was having with my third party lenses. When I used this lens mount adapter with Canon EF lenses it worked great. Spot on and my first gen 70-200 L lens seemed to work better with the EOS-R than my 5D Mark IV. It was pretty great. My problems arrived when I tried to use the lens mount adapter with third party lenses like the Tamron glass. My focus was off in a big way. No matter what I did this kept happening. Canon said that the V2 lenses should work just fine with the lens Mount Adapter but with no avail they didn't. I can say if you are using this adapter with Canon EF or EFS glass it's going to give you flawless results but with third party glass, my experiences were bad enough for me to return both the camera and adapter.

I have used the EOS R for 10 days or so, I have over 3k exposures. I am switching from a 5d iv, I do not use it for video. Here are the things I like: -Great picture quality -Silent Shutter -Works with my 24-70 f2.8 II, 70-200 f2.8IS II and other lenses without a problem with the adapter. -Single point single shot Autofocus works great. -MOST of the time face detection with Eye detection works. -Ring on the adapter(Sold separately), I have set ut up for Aperture, I really like this even though the ring is a bit to close to the camera. -The FV mode is probably my favorite new feature. -Great battery life, not sure how they measure the battery life for the specs, but I am getting an average of 900 photos per charge. -Touch Screen as good as the 5d iv Things that I need to get used to -Touch and Drag autofocus -Multi-function bar, I have programmed it to ISO, left side ISO 100, right side ISO 3,600, it works. Things that need improvement: -Face Autofocus, it works great 90% of the time, but sometimes just decides that the hands or a chair are the face. -The touch and drag autofocus can be more responsive, meaning when I touch the screen while looking through the viewfinder the to change the focus point sometimes I need to swipe a few times to get to the point I want. I have tested different options, like mapping the screen to 1/4, to 1/2 to absolute and relative. It works but not as good as it could! -Bursts silent shooter. -More options to customize the buttons. For example, I would like to not only program the back button for Back Button Focus but to go to specify what type of autofocus (single/servo, single point or different areas, etc...) In conclusion, I am very happy with the EOS R and know that when Canon releases a firmware upgrade I will be really really happy with the camera!

I have a bunch of EF lenses that needed to mount to the RF body. This adapter lets me do that. This adapter doesn't have the control ring, but if you want to same money, that shouldn't mater. I ended up upgrading to the control ring adapter a few days later just in case I want to use that feature later.

Fits great, was worried about getting a 3rd party model from fears that they would be loose. Makes using my EF lenses a breeze, and I don't have to get rid of all my old lenses. No speed issues, in fact a couple of lenses actually seem to perform faster. Best buy purchase was easy, arrived in reasonable amount of time considering Covid shipping issues.
