I am a mom who mostly takes pictures of the band performing. The clarity is unreal. It is heavy but you get used to it. I have really enjoyed this lens since purchasing it and many people have asked me what kind of camera I use. It's not just the camera but more about the lens!

I took my new 18-200 to South Dakota and took amazing landscape photos of Mt Rushmore and the Badlands. So, happy I got it.

I started out with the 18-55mm lens. I had been using it for 1 year and realized it wasn't as versatile. Not doing much research, I purchased the 70-300mm. I think I should have made a wiser decision with the 70-300 but I didn't. I finally purchased the 18-200 after 2 years and what a fool I was. This lens should be sold with every camera. Its good for both short and long range, easy to transport, and can capture any moment you can imagine. A little heavy but manageable. If your getting a camera that comes with the 18-55, see if you can purchase just the body and purchase this lens. Trust me!

i did a lot of research before buying another lens and i bought this one and i am very happy. this is the only lens i will probably ever need. it is a little expensive but it is definately worth it. i tried the tamron lenses and there was no comparison on the speed of the lens and the coloring plus the tamron i tried didn't have IS built in. This is the perfect all around lens that will let you take professional pictures at an amateur level. my wife could tell right away. depth of field is good in whatever you are trying to do. i can get the blurry background really good when you zoom in on something!

I have just replaced my preferred lens (18-55 and 19-35mm) by this one, and it is amazing the versatility that I had during my vacation with my family. I was able to take the right scene and momentum, widening or closing the zoom on at my kids. It´s worthy for a daddy!! Canon at this time, surpassed my expectatives even been more expensive, but it has a smooth and fast zoom motor, 3.5-5.6 giving more sensibility to indoor shots. It is heavy, but for all the pros I gained, it deserves a good evaluation.

I bought this when I noticed that it was on sale. I had been wanting to upgrade to this lens for my Canon 60D. I have used it a couple of times and over 400 photo's. It is crisp for me on close ups and I like the extended range over my 18-135mm. I am an amateur photographer, so I have no need for taking my photo's to 11x17 or larger. I have used this also in a pinch for portrait use and found it to be a good lens. I like the feel and I like the results, and the locking device at 18mm allows me to walk around and not worry about the lens extending on me.

We bought this primarily for the great zoom range and love the additional zoom. Our camera (T3i) came with the 18-55mm lens, so this 18-200mm really improved our ability to zoom in. This lens feels heavier than we expected it to - it really weighs the camera down compared to the 18-55mm. But, we still keep this lens on our camera all the time because we like the zoom.

This lens permits flexibility, ease of operation, and provides exceptional clarity and preciseness. I used this one lens to shoot over 750 shots at a wedding and reception. No more of fumbling around for other lens. It is compact and unobtrusive. It is very fast to focus and as all CANON lens are, the quality comes out in every photograph. This is the ONE lens I would recommend everyone purchase PRIOR to purchasing all the other zoom lens. This focal length permits candid photography opportunities from a distance as well as posed photos close up. FOR the money, it is the best money I have ever spent on lens, and I have several. I suggest take your CANON Camera to the store, put this lens on your camera, and shoot some photos. THIS lens sells itself!!!!

I needed a lens that provided a good range so I didn't have to keep switching lenses back and forth during the same event. This lens was the perfect fit! It allows for close ups and long range zooming without sacrificing picture quality.

I read other reviews about this lens and I decided to invest in it so that I wouldn't have to keep changing between the 2 lenses that came with my Canon DSLR. Great purchase, I have been able to get wide or zoom photos and quality is very good. The lens itself is a bit heavy but well worth it as I only have to carry around one lens now! Highly recommended.

I bought this to replace the kit lens (18-55) that came with the Rebel camera I purchased. It was a toss-up between this and the 55-250 lens. I chose this only because I thought it would be better not to be switching lenses back and forth depending on the situation. The quality isn't fantastic. I'd say the lens qualtiy and construction is nearly the same as the 18-55. It's great for nature and wildlife images when you don't necessarily have the time to switch up your gear.

This is a good lens. A little pricey but it's a lot of range for the money. It's a little heavy also. The sharpness is about the same as my other lens. I returned it but not because it wasn't a good lens. It was because it was heavy and about the same sharpness and picture quality as what I already have.

Great all around lens for the 7D Mark ii

I purchased the Canon 7D Mark ii for its ability to quickly focus, and hold focus on moving objects while taking pictures rapid fire, and while making movies. The Canon 18-200mm lens gives me the range to start wide angle and close in on a subject while taking pictures. Particularly good for USAF Thunderbird air shows. Best Buy Photo Department has photo enthusiast folks in the department who know what they are talking about. My Salesman in the Salem, NH store was particularly knowledgeable, and earned my respect. Walked out with more than I planned.

I like this lens I have used it for a few weeks and getting great pictures. The lens is on the heavy side but the trade of is not having to switch lens to get your shots. I am enjoying the lens and I think that it is worth the extra cost.

I bought this lens for my cannon T3i to replace my old lens 18-55.. It's really heavy but the quality is far more superior than the old lens. I really love it.
