    I love the lens, but I hope this one lasts longer than the original. The autofocus capacity stopped working in just over one year. Then the camera simply didn't function.

    This is the second chance. The first zoom burned out the auto focus motor.. It is made of plastic, so it is affordable.

  • The newer, improved STM lens is worth it

    The IS II lens made some nice improvements over the original 18-55mm IS lens, but the newer STM lens is notably sharper, with quicker focus. It is also silent. It's worth the extra money. I would only not recommend this lens because the improved STM lens exists.

    Its more or less included with the camera kit so you have a starting off point. Pictures from this lens are average at best and it really needs to be replaced once you start wanting better pictures.
