So I purchased this lens to do some cool, wide-angle videos for my YouTube channel and sadly was immediately disappointed by the quality of the footage, presumably due to the poor low light performance from having a maximum aperture of only 4.5. Needless to say, I had to return the lens and ended up with the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 which is a MUCH better video lens that is still decently wide-angle. For photos (such as landscapes, real estate, etc.) the 10-18 is pure bliss though. So if you are purchasing this lens with the intent of only stills, I say it's a go.

I had been pricing a wide angle lens for my Canon T2i and they were all in the $500-$600 range. When this lens was offered for $300, I jumped at the opportunity. It is a perfect match and also offers the auto-focus and image stabilizer features the same as my 18mm-55mm lens. What a great new offering from Canon at a great price at Best Buy.

This is one of the best lenses I have used on my Canon 70d. The auto focus is fast and accurate. The lens is also quiet for video shooting. I was able to hand hold the camera, get super close and produce an excellent in focus video with this lens. Still photos were also super sharp.

Are you are looking for an ultra wide angle lens that's super sharp and has image stabilization? Look no further this is the lens your looking for. I am amazed how well this lens performs especially given the price. Very satisfied with this lens. It exceeded my expectations.

I bought this lens for real estate photography and I was not disappointed. This lens is excellent for getting into small spaces. I wouldn’t recommend for every day photography but if you need to be able to take pictures in small rooms this is a great lens for that.

I’m definitely glad I purchased this lens for my Canon T7i. The aperture isn’t very high but I’ve noticed I can take decent shots in the dark with it as the image stabilization reduces most of my hand shake. Definitely good for introduction to wide lenses. Lee in mind it is for APS-C cameras, not full frame.

I purchased this lens as a gift for my boyfriend. He is an avid Kayak fisher and is very pleased with the shots he's taken with this lens. The shots are not only crisp but the wide angle lens allows him to capture all of his surroundings.

When shooting stills and video indoors, I needed a wide-angle lens to capture more of the action and people. This light-weight wide-angle zoom lens fits the bill nicely. One downside: as an EF-S lens, it is only for APS-C sensor cameras - consider whether you plan to ever upgrade to a full-frame camera body.

I had a chance to use this lens for the sale of my home. The listing broker thought the images were taken by a professional. For the price, this lens is a no brainer for someone wanting to take their own real estate photos without breaking the bank.

Bought this for landscape photography and have used for so much more. Great lense. Only problem is I paid $299 and on the 45th day after purchase it dropped to $249.....good for you if you're wanting to buy. This is light weight and performs very well. You can spend $1500 or more on the professional lenses but why break the bank. Give it a try!

Was considering the 10mm-22mm, but for almost $400 more and no IS? This was a no-brainer. This lens rocks! It's not the best lens, but it is the best lens for the money. It produces excellent photos with my Canon 7D, even in moderate low light. Outdoors, this lens really shines. Quiet, quick focusing and photos to die for.

Wow, this lens is amazing. I have a couple lenses in my kit but this one was my go-to on my trip to Japan. Truly amazing even on my crop sensor. I’m sure if you have a full frame body you will be able to truly unlock the magic this lens is hiding. Definitely recommend.

This is a great lens for creating a wide angle visual for my vlogging. It's the perfect price for those on a budget. I've coupled with the Canon 70d and so far the autofocus is great AND quiet. I enjoy being able to get a little more creative by capturing images up close and getting a nice depth of field!

While I can't claim to be anything more than an amateur photographer, I use my camera a lot. I've faced many situations where it was tough to get the shot I wanted - outdoor scene, the group shot at the family reunion, and much more. There was just too much scenery, too many people, etc., and I couldn't get all of it into the picture. What a difference this lens has made! I took it on a recent trip to the Smoky Mountains, and the scenic pictures came out just the way I had hoped. If you use a DSLR camera, you need a wide-angle lens. If you have a Canon Rebel model, as I do, this is the lens for you.

I was in need of a wide angle lens for real estate and architectural photographs to be used on my Canon 70D. I had rented an older wide angle lens (10-22mm) which held as an asset the quality of the glass. The used lens was available for sale for about $100 more than the price of the 10-18mm lens. After reading the specs and some reviews on the 10-18mm, continuing to rent the used lens didn't make much fiscal sense. As well, the idea of purchasing a used lens vs new was one that I was not comfortable with. Based on the pricing and available information, I decided to purchase the new lens. Although I had some concerns for low light interior photos, the 10-18mm has performed remarkably well thus far. In addition to interior real estate photos, I look forward to using the lens for landscape photography as it will share some time with my 18-135mm. Also, I look forward to using the lens to compare some video capture between my 70D and Canon Vixia.
