works like a charm. happy with the purchase though it was just 20$ off on black friday. Had some challenge getting the lens to click in place, so that need some force but has been good since the first click.

It's a great lens because it's compact, light, and inexpensive. I like that it stops down to f2.8 and that it's a pancake style lens, so it doesn't protrude much.
It turns my T5 into a compact camera great for street photography.

A Perfect Pancake Lens

This lens is just like having a "wide" normal lens on my Canon 60D. On a recent vacation, I challenged myself to see if I could use this lens exclusively, and it did the job perfectly. It is light weight and easy to carry. Wish it came as the normal lens for this camera.

I love this lens. I took some awesome pics during the holidays and they were beautiful. I watched this items for almost a year before I made a purchase. I wished I had purchased it sooner. Canon just speaks quality. I would definitely recommend to any photography enthusiast.

A good basic prime for any beginner kit. Relatively inexpensive, light, metal mount; overall good quality. Added a 50mm prime to augment the 2 kit telephoto lenses. Until I get better at using DSLR cameras, I feel I've got a solid base of lenses.

I love this lens. I love it for everyday use. I have a SL2 and it makes my camera look more compact which I love. Can easily just throw it in my bag and I’m ready to go. It’s a great value lens.

Good Standard Lens

Got a EOS T5 with a zoom as supplied lens. Wanted a fixed focal length also - this is supposed to be equivalent to the old 50-55 mm standard with film 35mm cameras. Well constructed, a lot smaller than the zoom and and smaller aperture. After about a month testing it out seems pretty good.

I originally started out with the telephoto lens and I loved that one, but I wanted a small "pancake" lens so I bought this one after having problems with the 40mm lens.
I like it, but I dont love it. It gets the job done, and still takes great pictures, but I'd much rather slap on the huge telephoto lens because I feel the pictures come out so much better.
Regardless, I do like it for simpler pictures and smaller tasks.

Great lens for the price and also in general. It's become my default lens. It's significantly better than the default kit lens that came with my camera and photos and video look significantly better. It's like my camera itself was upgraded, it's great!

I am only a novice but I do enjoy capturing wildlife and scenic shots. This lens would not work well for wildlife but for scenic or landscapes yes. It's a pretty wide angle lens and I personally feel Canon is the best. Not on sale but price was pretty fair.

I love this budget lens. Has everything I loved about the "nifty fifty" but with a wide field of view. Definitely pick up the 50mm first if you haven't already but this is a great second lens upgrade.

I was looking for a lightweight lense for my Canon 60D and didn't want to special order it from the manufacturer's website. This was a great alternative. The salesman was great with walking me through the purchase.

The versatility and quality of this lens are unparalleled!
I thought i did not need it because I had the 50mm but on a cropped sensor camera this is my go-to.
Powerful and useful for every occasion.
Get it.

I've wanted to buy more lenses for my canon and this is a perfect edition! I have been buying the prime lenses to get a start and the lower 4 stop makes all the difference. This particular lens is great for landscape, and for a lot less than most of the other lenses.

I bought this lens as my first Prime Lens for my Canon T6. This lens is comparable to a 35/40 full-frame Prime, and will be using it for street photograph.
It's also very, very, flat.

Low cost lense that takes beautiful portraits. Keep in mind, there is no zoom, so this is not for taking photos from a distance.
