Great for the $$$

It performed great wide open @2.8 and did even better @4 I use it all the time for everything from "macro" (with extension) to portraits of my boys.

IT IS NOT A WIDE ANGLE LENS. This is a standard focus depth lens. It's primary benefit is the light weight and shallow depth of the lens. Similar lens' can be more than twice as long. It is a LIGHTWEIGHT STANDARD lens. It has NO increased focus depth for macro photography. It is NOT IDEAL FOR CLOSE UPS.

Great addition to our Canon Rebel

As a fixed 24mm lense our Canon Rebel can take photos way better then our phones and this lense is great for moving targets. If you have a 50mm fixed lense this may be a little irrelevant, but it does allow us to take pictures of a moving baby much better compared to the 50mm.
