Good focusing speed but slightly fidgety when dialing in the details on manual. Photography is just one of my hobbies (far from a pro) and this price point over performance is just perfect for me. I would have given this 5 stars but Canon’s decision of using a plastic, instead of metal, mount is kind of a let down and detracts for the usual Canon quality feel. Id say this is a perfect intermediate lens for hobbyists and students.

good comprise between 18-55 and 75-300

Tired of having to carry both to get close up and yet also get far away photos. This lens fits between both and is good for someone looking not to have to carry two lenses.
