I bought this lens because I take a lot of pictures of dogs and it's easier to let them run loose while I stand still and zoom them in. Now my pics are coming out super clear and I'm able to get those priceless moments that you can't get when you're having to chase something around

Great for taking close up pictures without getting into someone's personal space. Easy to use and not a heavy lens.

I bought this lens after watching a Christopher Frost review on it, and if you are considering this lens I highly recommend you watch that review. This lens has an excellent zoom range, and the IS is a lifesaver. The 250mm focal length on APS-C is long enough for taking pictures of larger birds and other wildlife, and while f5.6 isn't the fastest, I've found that the IS was good enough that I could compensate with longer exposures. I have had a ton of fun shooting with this lens

Love it! Fast and silent auto focus, sharp photos. Very slight noise on video while changing focal length but this was in a silent room. Great lens for the price.

I enjoy this lens better than the 18-300 lens which came int the kit. The 300 lens doesn't have a built in stabilizer, I'll need to hold real still or use a tripod, the 55-250 lens has a built in stabilizer and is a bit lighter.

Really good lens for the price. I use this to shoot dirt track races / The Dogs anything good. Very good picture quality and being able to zoom far distance is a big plus. This lens stays in my camera

I am so happy that I purchased this additional lens. I was debating this one which has image stabilizing & another which zooms further, but did not have image stabilizing. Since my primary reason for purchasing the camera & lenses was sports photography, I decided to go with this one. I am happy I did! It zooms in enough for me & the image stabilizing is great!

I started out with a Kodak Brownie camera and held onto my SLR cameras for a long time. Moved to digital cameras 10 years ago. Now own several Canon cameras. Love them. I'm using this camera to teach my daughter. Very versatile camera for all levels. It makes you want to take pictures and while this might be your Brownie...it is easy to learn and is not overwhelming. You will automatically take better pictures than I did with my first camera. So many features for any type of image you want. I have a pro Canon I use...but this one is my go to camera when I just want to grab a camera and have some fun shooting shots for ordinary and special times.

This is a great lens for the price. I own the Rebel 7ti and use this lens for scenery and wildlife photos. The effective range of the lens for me is 88-400mm, which is great.

This lens complements the 15-55mm very well, and the zoom power is great. Photographed a family of swans that was hundreds of yards away, but you could still see the fuzz on the babies. Love it!

I bought this for a trip to Machu Picchu and was not disappointed. It was much lighter than my old telephoto and the wide range of focal length made it easy to carry only one lens with me while hiking.

Great lens, main selling point is the ability to autofocus while in video mode with Cannon EOS Rebel T5i. May work with other caermas that have ability but I don't know which models. Lens will continue to focus on subject while taking video which is great for videos of the kids. If you camera supports the ability, this lens is a must. Also works very well for intended use, zoom lens for distance pictures.
