Upgraded from the old 100-400 and haven't been disappointed. The images are as sharp if not sharper. It focuses really fast in comparison to the older lens. It has replaced my 100mm macro lens for my outdoor macro shots.

I’m not a professional but this lens sure makes my pictures look like a professionals. I take photos at our kids sporting events and the zoom is perfect. I use the sports setting. Excellent buy!

This isn't an inexpensive lens by any means but if you shoot wildlife or anything action oriented it's fantastic. Fast and quiet focus with great glass.

I love the sharpness of the pictures. Great lens for sporting events. I can take clear crisp action shots of an entire softball field.

This lens is tack sharp. Great purchases. Haven't had an issue. Paired it with my 1.4extender viii i have great reach on my crop sensored camera.

As a bird photographer image quality is imperative! This lens is absolutely amazing, the image stabilization is the best I've ever used, focus is almost instant.highly recommend.

Love it! I use it for wild humming bird pictures. Very sharp image. Pre-set focus range feature makes the focus really fast!

This lens is great. It focuses quickly on auto and doesn't eat my batteries. It has heft, but it's not too heavy to carry, so it's great for wildlife. It's fast enough for low light, but take a tripod or monopod if you're working late or early. I wish it had a lock to keep it from extending while it's being carried, but that's a minor gripe.

I use this lens on both a Canon 7D Mark II as well as 5D Mark III, and this lens works superbly with both. Have captured extremely sharp images of birds (in flight and fixed) with nice color contrast even at long end on the 7D, which equates to 640X. AF is quick and silent. Excellent L glass; you honestly won't be disappointed.

Bought this lens for my wife to take pictures of our grandsons playing pee wee football and she is very happy with it. It really brings them up close and very clear. One bit of advice: make sure that you match up the correct tripod with your camera/lens combo because it can get very heavy in the course of an afternoon of football. Remember that all tripods are not created equal so take your time, spend a little extra money, and get the right one.

Love this lens. Obviously it would be better with a lower aperture, but for the price and quality it is a great deal.
