I bought this macro lens because of the great reviews and it has image stabilization and I can't always use a tripod when doing macro photography. This lens is extremely sharp and would be a great choice for any Canon shooters looking for a top quality macro lens. I'm very satisfied.

I've just started to learn how to use the lens, and already getting some awesome shots. The lens has opened up a brand new world for me . . . I have really enjoyed this new experience in photography.

This lens gives very crisp images with very good color saturation. The focal length gives pretty good distance from the subject when making macro photos (about one foot). Depth of field is of course very shallow, and image stabilizing is of questionable value shooting macro images, but very helpful in general use.

Obviously if you are interested in a lens like this, you're serious about quality photos. This lens will not disappoint. I bought this lens for the macro side of things and the image stabilization was the icing on the cake. I think the price is fair for the quality you receive.

I have been using the macro "tricks" such as extension tubes and reverse rings for a few years now. Doable. But this lens takes my macros to the next level of sharpness and color. I've used it every day since I got it a few months ago.

The macro photography and portrait work show beautifully with this lens. I do have to say that it is a little slow and does not perform super fast in low light. However the art I have produced with this camera lens has been jaw-dropping.

Bought this lens to do small product photography. Can get very close on small objects. You can fill the entire frame with something as small as a penny. Sturdy and solidly built.

I have had my eye on the 100 macro for a long time. This has the l series lens with image stabilization. It is well built and allows for tripod free photos. I am very happy with this purchase and if available on sale this makes the cost a bit more tolerable.

Was hesitant to buy this lens but WOW! Its more than a macro lens, the quality it produces for headshots is amazing. If you aren't looking for the fastest focusing lens this one can be used for portraiture and produce great results.

Great lens and incredibly sharp. Great for macro work and even works great for mid length telephoto lens. Love taking pictures of small items, presents them in a different point of view. Opens the world of photography to the creative eyes.

The lens is really nice and clear. I haven't used it much for macro yet but plan to. The lens cover that came with it was not very protective, so I bought a Lowepro lens case ( 9 x 16 cm) . It is a tight fit but has much more protection.

This lens rounds out the full cadre necessary for the serious photographer. I have used lens tubes to create my own macro lens; but from the first capture, I see there is no comparison. I am completely delighted to have this lens in my bag.

I haven't really had the chance to put this lens through the paces but for what I have shot it has worked great. But I really need to do some serious macro photos to really get out of this lens what I was hoping for.

You can see the pores on your skin with this lens. It has amazing quality. I'm glad it has image stabilization in it. You don't realize how much you move around until you use a macro lens.

I love this lens. It allows me to capture beautiful details, with ease. Sharp images and the image stabilization feature is always great.
