This is the first wide angle that matches my 24-105mm L lens in image quality. It also takes the same size filters. I use it for landscapes, it is a pleasure to use and the images are wonderful!

This is my landscape lens, my make this room bigger lense, my get everyone in the picture lens, and my fun distortion lense. I really enjoy it...crisp pictures...everything stays in focus. The cons: focus can be a little sluggish and low light is not where this camera shines...but there are other lenses for that. I enjoy it...it is in my top 4 go to lenses.

This is a great lens that is tack sharp. Upgraded from a 17-40, and while you lose a little zoom, this is definitely an upgrade compared to that.

Use this on my Canon 6dMKii and it is very sharp at all focal lengths. At 16mm the image distortion is very low and unnoticeable especially compared to the Canon 10-18mm. (I moded the 10-18mm ef-s to work on the full frame ef mount of the 6dMKii). The image stabilization works well aslo, it's actually difficult to get an image out of focus at 16mm, and indoors the IS does help add a few stops, but I wouldn't say it's 4 extra stops like they advertise. Just a very reliable lens that is excellent for what it is intended for. Also great for real estate as well.

Bought this lens to take photos indoors for my real estate business. Pictures come out great and the wide angle captures the size and proportions of the room well.

The image stabilization lets me easily hand hold a 1/25 exposure. Impressive. My only mild complaint is that this lens has a good bit of vignetting. Im still totally happy with the lens.

I had the Canon 17-40, and can tell you that this lens is considerably better. It is sharper in the center and corners with excellent control of (CA) Chromatic Aberration. This lens is fantastic for Landscape and Interiors, Its Image Stabilization works very good. I highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

This is an upgrade from my Canon 17-40 L lens and it's a very justified upgrade. This price is great for such an excellent piece of glass.

For the price of this lens it is not lacking in quality. The build quality is amazing and it features a durable weather resistant body. I am using it on a 7D MK II and the focal length is perfect for both landscapes and full/partial body shots. In this price range there isn't really a better ultra wide zoom. The image quality is not lacking and the focus is both sharp and fast. The addition of IS means that it will be a great lens for anyone doing run and gun videography.

It's wide with zoom, L series, and image stabilization, what more can you ask for, for that great price point. (1099+tax at the time) I needed a lens day of a shoot but what I had in my bag wasn't wide enough, so ordered a few hours before, and was set for the rest of the day. Definitely will be part of my secondary photo gear set, as well as for video.

Rugged Lens for Landscape and Architecture

I bought this lens almost 1 year ago and have had a lot of fun taking pictures of landscape and architecture. About 6 months ago, I actually dropped the lens when installing it on a camera body! I was so sure I had just destroyed the lens. But it came away with only a minor scratch and kept shooting great. This is an example of Canon's build quality. The lens can be a bit soft on the corner's which is to be expected with wide angle.

Best overall lens, it’s very versatile, sharp and clear at the corners. Was debating the F2.8 vs this and honestly could not justify the extra $1,000 for the small upgrade for the other lens. Very happy with this one and saved some money

Lately the Airlines are making it a pain in the rear to carry too much gear, and since I travel to Europe a lot I've been looking at the 16-35 f/4L to help me leave my tripod at home. Canon did not disappoint! the 16-35 is Sharper than my older 17-40 and about the same size but with IS!!! needless to say I'm very pleased with my purchase and Glad I had special discounts from my Best Buys reward program!!!
