So far I'm pretty happy with this lens. I have the 17-35 2.8... This one is a bit sharper and the image stabilization is a plus. There's some distortion on the edges. Overall pleased with the performance.

wondered if this lens was worth it for someone who does this as just a hobby, and I think if the return is that it makes your hobby that more enjoyable it is totally worth it, i think it was worth it for me can't wait to get more fun out of it.

This lens was recommended to me by many people, and in many other sources it always gets very high reviews. The lens is very sharp, captures detail well and does a great job with capturing landscapes, which is something I want to work on this year. I can tell already that I am going to enjoy working with this lens.

Good lens for travel and landscape thanks to its small size and weight (for range and aperture). High quality build and not as expensive or heavy as f2.8 wide angle zooms. I am an amateur photographer. If I was professional I would step up and make the investment in the f2.8.

I was suprisingly impressed with how sharp this lens is plus it has IS! Always a plus. I had the 17-40mm f4 before and was never happy with it. I'm glad i upgraded.

If you needed that certain lens to do that certain job, this is it. Wide and a little reach. Great for landscape and people capturing moments to fit in. Quality is same Canon L feel. Don't forget that is comes with a bag and caps for the lens.

I love the lens for taking pictures and capturing a large area. I use it specially for houses. I have not played around with it to see what else I may love it for! I was worried about not getting the newest model and that it was the f/4L but it is perfect!

I bought this lens to replace my 17-40mm f4 I previously owned and the main difference I noticed right away is the Image Stabilization, it really helps on low light conditions (if you are not using a tripod). I considered the f2.8 version, but for the use I'm giving it, the IS is better (architecture and landscape)

For a long time I've been wanting an L series lense and now that I picked up this beauty, I can't believe I've gone so long without having one or one like it! You truly can't go wrong, whether your shooting a wedding or into real estate and need amazing shots......this lense can sell your house!

I shoot canon, Nikon, and Sony. Needing wide for at least one brand, and not needing 2.8, this lens covers the need. With the addition of a teleconverter from Sigma, I use this lens on my Sony system as well. Typically great Canon optics.

Bought this specifically for wedding landscape backdrops and large groups. It was an awesome lens when I had the ideal lighting, but it was a different story when lights were low or the sun went down. I ended up taking the lens back and getting the 2.8 version of this lens. I would recommend this lens, but depending on what type of photography you'd be doing.

Large lens that takes some getting used to for wide angle, but with some practice gives good results. Specially useful for video with acceptable stabilization. Fairly good for indoor pics. Excellent for outdoor pics and videos.

the sharpest ultra wide lens in canons lineup. If you don't mind f4 and having IS, this is the lens for you. The price is good too as this covers the wide and part of the medium spectrum of lens

After much research, I decided to purchase the 16-15mm f/4 ultra wide lens. For landscape photography, the extra $1,000.00 for the f/2.8 was not worth it. If in the future I need an ultra wide lens at f/2.8, the Tamron lens is a good choice.

Lighter than I thought, but used to f2.8 lenses. Sharp and very good focus. Still need to use it some more for a better review. Choose this vs F2.8 model since I'd use this 99.9% for landscape and F4-16.
