Customers are saying

Customers commend the EF35mm F2 IS USM Wide-Angle Lens for its excellent image quality, often comparing it favorably to other lenses. Its wide-angle capabilities are also frequently praised for their versatility in various photography situations, from landscapes to portraits. Many appreciate its performance in low light and find it a great everyday lens. While some find the price a bit high, the lens's overall positive attributes outweigh this concern for many users.

My second lens purchase and I am Happy!

Lens purchasing is getting addicting...... My first purchase was the 50mm which I honestly LOVE. I just recently purchased the 35mm for a shoot and honestly its an even tie between the two of them. I mostly use my 35mm to shoot food for Grubhub/Seamless since it gives me more room 15%-20% edges around the dish (I am 5'3, I can't shoot on my tippy toes with my 50 forever), but I really wanted to try it out on a shoot to see if it can match up with my 50. Even my model told me she liked the look of the lens in photos. I attached some photos for reference! Really love this lens for portraits as well!

This was my second lens purchase and after months of research I’ve decided to choose a 35MM focal length to shoot mainly portrait photography. This focal length and lens is phenomenal! Coming from a 50MM F1.8 STM lens this is definitely an upgrade. I also considered a Sigma 35MM F1.4 but I didn’t want to deal with the calibration process from a third party lens. Overall, this lens is sharp at F2.8 and with IS I am able to do some solid video work! A great option for beginners or those who want to do both photography and video.

The Canon - EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Wide-Angle Lens is not really a wide-angle lens. It's more like a 50mm, with a wider angle. The amount of light this lens is capable of capturing is surprisingly good, and the depth-of-field is amazing, for both photo and video.

I really like this lens a great deal. It performs very well in low lighting. It is a little pricey but definitely worth the money for the performance it provides.

I needed a prime to go with my M50. Using the Viltrox speedbooster with this lens, gave me an adapted nice fast lens at full frame focal length. Using the EOS EF - M adapter gave me a 56mm lens. Images are nice and sharp. Having the 2 focal lengths gives me a chance to experiment, and when I upgrade to a full frame camera, I can migrate this lens as well.

I mostly take live band photos. This 35mm lens does a good job. I dont have to be as far away as I did with the 50mm lens I had before. Canon quality lens.

One of the best lenses I have purchased in a long time. If the "L" version of this is sharper, it can't be by much. "L" quality, EF Price!

At work I have the newest Canon 35mm f/1.4L MkII which is nothing short of spectacular. Super sharp, but really heavy and quite expensive. I decided to try this f/2 version due to positive reviews, affordable price and the fact that it has image stabilizer which I find more useful than f/1.4 aperture (f/2 is plenty). After testing the lens for couple of weeks on my Canon 5D MkIV camera, all I can say that it's definitely a keeper. Wide open (f/2) it's decently sharp. Not even close to sharpness levels of f/1.4L MkII version at f/1.4, but still more than good enough. But, once stopped down to f/2.8 and especially f/4-5.6, lens is every bit as sharp and detailed as f/1.4L MkII lens. I've been shooting in RAW format and comparing images in both Adobe LightroomC and Capture One Pro. Results are simply stunning for $550 lens. Sharpness (beyond f/2.8) is as good as it gets, files are extremely detailed, contrasty and colorful. Bokeh is super creamy and simply beautiful at f/2, and minimum focus distance creates some amazing out of focus areas. IS is silent and very efficient, making this lens a real gem in Canon's collection!

This is a great prime lense for travel! Highly recommend this lense as it stayed on my Canon 6D the whole time I was in Disney World. I debated between this or the 50mm but eventually I chose to go with the wider 35mm. This lense is extremely sharp and focuses quickly.

Great for almost any shot that you're willing to hoof around a little bit for; without any focus you'll need to walk a bit to get your framing right, but after all, that's expected with a prime lens ;) IS is REALLY beneficial for low light shots of static objects and really does give you a few more stops worth of hand-held capability. Doesn't help you with moving subjects in low light, but you can capture some great static object shots in low light on APS-C sensors. Daylight performance is superpar, and shots have been generally tack sharp (Best AF has been found in using live view focusing)

I recently used this lense for group shots at a wedding. The photos were great! Also good as a portrait lense on a crop sensor camera such as the Canon 7D Mark II.

I've owned the 35L, the Sigma 35 Art, and this one here... its great, i love the iS, i like the color and contrast... not a fan of the vignette (look closely, its there) the purple fringing is there too but not super noticeable. I'd compare this lens image quality to the pancake 40mm. Perhaps not as sharp edge to edge, but pretty darn close. It doesnt focus nearly as fast as the 35L but then again, its nowhere near the price. If I had to to it all over again. I'd probably keep my 35L. Buuuuut, this one does have IS, which is pretty nice for video.

Used this on a 7D Mk I, and now on a 5D Mk IV. On either camera, this lens is razor sharp. I've been using it over a 24-70 2.8L mk I, for the image quality alone, not to mention IS. It doesn't have the weather sealed qualityy of an L lens, but it is right up there in terms of image quality. Lots of value for money here.

I really love this lense and for the price it’s worth it! I would have rather bought the 35 min f/1.4 but i did not want to spend another 1,000 for it so for the price this does everything it needs to. I use this lense when shooting family sessions and even couple/ engagements. If I wanna shoot some portraits I’ll switch it out for the canon 50mm

This lens was on sale right when I need a wide angle lens. I was shooting a big party wedding that was perfect for this lens. I will probably invest in a new wide angle lens for groups of more then 9 just to ensure I am not pushing this one too much but I love the light it pulls and the crisp photos. I use this in teamwork with my 50mm right now.

This 35mm was the first lens I got after the kit lens and have been the best experience ever! This lens practically helped me get a job with a big-time dealership here in Miami. Amazing in low light!!!! The image quality that comes out is like none other especially it being I'm using a T7i having the crop sensor.
