Customers are saying

Customers commend the EF35mm F2 IS USM Wide-Angle Lens for its excellent image quality, often comparing it favorably to other lenses. Its wide-angle capabilities are also frequently praised for their versatility in various photography situations, from landscapes to portraits. Many appreciate its performance in low light and find it a great everyday lens. While some find the price a bit high, the lens's overall positive attributes outweigh this concern for many users.

As a novice photographer that had been using lower end lenses, this is a nice prime lens at f/2, for some nice depth of field.

I would have to say this lens performs like an L lens and is very sharp ans very fast on auto focus on my 6D and even faster now on my R6 with ef lens adapter. This lens is a must to achieve a perfect balance of creamy background while your main subject is focused.

A True Gem of a Lens!

I have several Canon L lenses and several non-L. I have shot with Canon 5D3 and now with the Canon R6 for photos and video. I process my images in LR and video in Premier Pro. When I cull the photos in LR and see the pics from this lens I am always amazed and just oooh and ahhh over them. I love the way f/2 looks on this lens for either a single person or a group shot. Shooting at this focal length allows for more in focus area. Thus, shooting a group of people at f/2 is easily done. The bokeh isn't super blurry like shooting with the Canon EF 135mm. But, that is a totally different beast. For the price and compared to so many other fine lenses in my arsenal, this is truly a fine lens. I am 'NEVER' disappointed when I use this lens. I even started shooting close up shots for dessert tables, etc. with this lens. Not really a macro lens, but it still looks very nice! I haven't even gone into the video qualities. I am very happy with the stabilization and color rendering of this lens. It's just a great lens. You just need to buy it.

I was drawn to this lens by photographer friends who raved about this 35mm f/2 prime lens. I was also interested in the image stabilization feature that this prime has and do I love it! It works amazing in low light and if you decide you want to record video in low light well you will love the results.

Just bought this lens last week after price drop. Overall a great lens. Takes great pictures and the IS really helps. It's the main reason I bought this lens. I also have the 50 mm 1.4 and although it produces better bokeh than the 35mm, i sometimes need to move back to get a good shot. The 35mm is great for tight shots. If you have a crop sensor, this lens is a perfect match. The 28mm 2.8 IS usm is also great for tight shots and has great image quality but you lose a stop.

No joke. Versitile, and sharp, nice wide aperature, the only lens i need 70% of the time, for photo and video.

Noisy AF for Video, Not Best in Bright Light

I wanted to like this lens, but it has a very noisy AF motor for video, was a bit slow to focus for photos, and was not the best in daylight (over exposed some images). Good image quality compared to similar lenses, but not worth the money IMO. Also not very wide with a crop sensor (24 mm STM lens is better for my needs).
