Having owned & used the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for the last three years, I wanted an upgrade. I can assure anyone in the same position it’s worth the upgrade. Auto Focus is vastly improved, AF points more responsive, AF speed is also a treat, dual layer is a memory monster only use this when it's necessary. WIFI function is nice but not a deal breaker, ISO performance is also improved, the touch screen is nice, but I could live without it. It’s hard to fault this new offering it’s just that good. Only negative I can think? Canon EOS 5D Mark III VS the new IV, new IV seems to be a power hog it’s a notable difference. Can’t get near as many shutter clicks as I did with Mark III so get an extra battery you will need it. Also get new upgraded memory cards that’s a must as well.

Coming from 6D, I had a really high expectation of this upgrade, and it didn't disappoint me. Almost every aspect of the camera is better than my 6D, from auto focus, image quality, build quality, AWB, auto meter, handling and low light performance just to name a few. I'm sure it will be my wedding work horse for the up coming years.

I upgraded from the Canon 60D, which was an incredible jump up. There is almost nothing I would change about this camera. It is much heavier than my 60D, and the 4K video is not as expected. My advice is if you are looking to upgrade from any model older than the Mark III, go for it. If you have a Mark III now, maybe wait. I wouldn't hing anything on the 4K video feature. Other than that I cannot say enough great things about this camera.

The 5Div is the best dslr in its class (before going up to the 1D). The mark iv has integrated WiFi and gps, which sadly canon seems to be abandoning…having geotagged pics is the entire reason I got this body instead of going mirrorless.

Great camera! I upgraded from a Rebel T7 to this camera and I love it! Such a great camera and easy to use as long as you know how to use a camera. Wouldn’t recommend for a first camera just because you need to learn how to use full manual. Great!

Great camera in every way possible (owned Mark III prior to this), so many improvements! Better resolution, better dinamic range, better high ISO performance, better auto white balance... Love the wifi feature! Love it that there is autofocus in video mode, started exploring video :-)

Outstanding value for the prosumer photographer. It wasn't long ago the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera (body only) was $3,500 without any additional lenses. On-sale over Christmas at $1,999 it's a steal. Paired with excellent Canon L-series "glass" (lenses) this camera is capable of award-winning professional photographs. Firmware is updateable, which may add features in the future. This camera can accept both Secure Digital (SD) and Compact Flash (CF) memory cards. It is also Wi-Fi and GPS enabled; it is possible to use with your smartphone as a remote device (helpful for portraits YOU want to be in without having to set up a 2-second delay and scurry into the frame). Easy enough for an amateur to use, but complex enough to take SEVERAL advanced courses on, this is a fantastic camera.

After looking at all the online reviews I was not sure that the 5DMarkIV would be enough of an improvement over the Mark III or even over the 7D Mark II. The camera is much better that the reviews. The clarity with high ISO is remarkable. Much better than I had with the Mark III and way better than the 7D. Frames per second is very good for 30 megapixel. I have this paired with my 2.8 70-200 II and 2.8 24-70 II and the results are outstanding. Much better than I had with Mark III & 7D except for the reach on the 7D. You will absolutely love the touch screen. While the controls are very similar to previous body's I started trying the touch screen just out of habit from using smart phones. The touch screen is great. Overall great product. Could it have been better, sure. Is it worth the upgrade from Mark III, I certainly think so!

This Canon 5D Mark IV is my go to full frame camera! The improvements over the 5D Mark 3 are quite astonishing. I take lots of wildlife and Nature photos and many times they are in low light conditions. I have no worries using this camera up to ISO 3200! Higher than that, you can still get good shots if you use post editing noise reduction software. Also, the 30+ mega pixel sensor is absolutely wonderful when cropping a shot in post processing. I can perform a major crop during post processing and still have enough pixels left to keep the picture sharp. The touch screen display is a very nice touch. A solid camera that takes outstanding pictures!

This camera has positive and negative reviews alike however I heir to the positive side. It's definitely not the 1Dx that people were thinking it would be but it does have some of the bells and whistles of the top of the 1Dx and many others that are great additions to the 5D, like touch screen and wifi, not to mention a fabulous new focus system and added usability features like a new toggle button and better customizable options. Overall this camera will be more than enough for most pros and the ones that were hoping it would be more than it is should get a 1Dx or get used to this kind of DSLR. It is the stills master and does that category excellent while sporting great performance in all of its other modes.

Did a lot of research before buying this camera. The colors , dynamic range and low light performance is impressive. I did not buy it for video I must admit , but if you want to take your photography to a new level if you have some knowledge of photography: this is it!

I absolutely love this camera. It’s fast, precise, and just overall very easy to use. I like the menu and the convenient touch screen. What I would like to see in the future is a touch screen that swivels or can come out like the 6D. I’ve been using this with my 50mm 1.2 and I’m just in love with how the colors turn out. Skin tones look amazing. Also the reason why I buy cannon cameras is the ergonomics behind it. I do think for a heavy and bulky dslr it is probably the easiest and most comfortable to hold. Very beneficial for those days when you’re shooting a lot or shooting weddings.

The truth is, it is the man behind the camera that matters but if you know what you're doing, you will be the good man. Image quality is beautiful, good in low light, dynamic range is unreal. I put this bad boy through rigorous use every other weekend, I am a busy wedding photographer and it keeps going. Get it if you can, if you get this and your images don't look like you want, then you know the issue is you and you can easily improve, but you won't know what to improve if you are hiding behind inferior products.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Full Frame Digital SLR Favourite changes compared to the Canon 60D 1) Autofocus stunningly fast. 2) Autofocus (live view) – I never used this before but it is great. . 3) Resolution. The 50% bump in resolution is really noticeable. I can zoom in considerably more and the options for cropping are obviously much better. 4) ISO. It is great to have auto ISO with programmable limits now compared to the 60D.

I decided to upgrade from my EOS 5D to the current model. I considered switching to one of the high end Nikons which have even more megapixels but elected to stay with the Canon in order to keep using the lenses I already have. A few days after the camera arrived I took it on hiking/photography trip to Great Basin in Nevada and Bryce Canyon in Utah. The camera worked flawlessly and took excellent pictures even in the fully automatic setting. Setting up the Canon software that came with the camera was straightforward, though I use Lightroom to process the pictures rather than the Canon software. I used the camera to shoot a number of pictures in Bryce at night with a full moon and the camera performed well. I used the Canon app to operate the camera in the dark which meant that I could dispense with a cable release/remote. The app is not entirely intuitive, but it works well and allows you to operate the camera remotely with ease. I have had the camera for only a month, but so far it has been excellent and without defect.

So far loving the Canon 5D Mark IV. This camera is a solid design and seems very weather resistant even though its not weather proof. Takes amazing still photos and the low light shooting is incredible. Shooting video with it is a dream and captures some very excellent 120fps slo-mo. I would highly recommend this camera for anyone interested in landscape, portrait, or video projects. If you are shooting action photography I would highly suggest the 7D Mark II instead.

I am in love with this camera I have tried panasonic and sony for various reasons and now that the 5d iv is out from Canon i'm back in the creative place I was when I started my business. Canon is easy to use and achieve fantastic results! I LOVE the auto focus video mode it makes Vlogging super fun and easy! I do wish the screen flipped out though and that the 4K video mode wasn't cropped. Other than that it is solid and highly professional. I also love the 1080 60p mode for video!

Had been waiting for this camera specifically because it's a full frame sensor and has built-in wifi. I knew of this models line and history and expected more of the same, which is great picture taking. I don't do much video taking so all the complaints of the sensor being cropped during video recording is insignificant to me. I did wait a few weeks before making the purchase to get see some reviews before I picked it up. So far I am extremely happy with it.
