Loved the First One So Much, so Bought Another

I have been shooting Canon cameras since the days of 35mm film (Canon AE-1 + others). Furthermore, I am aware that Canon has introduced mirrorless cameras. However, I have been shooting digital SLRs for many years now, and just a few years ago, I purchased a Canon EOS 5D Mk IV. That first camera performed so well and yielded some incredibly vivid, colorful, crisply focused photographs that I decided rather than start over with an EVF type camera (newer technology) for my "long" lens 2nd unit, why not purchase another EOS 5D Mk IV (proven technology). My latest Mk IV camera has already performed very well (comparable to my first 5D Mk IV). The only very minor complaint I have is that the camera mode selection knob (where you choose Tv, Av, M, etc) is slightly out of alignment with the detent it offers, thus it gives the appearance that the knob is not quite in its proper position. None the less, this is a minor cosmetic flaw and the camera functions just fine as it is. Just not the quality that I have come to expect from a Canon camera. This was my only basis for deducting 1 star (I had the option to exchange for another unit, but I had already registered this one and did not wish to delay use of the camera). None the less, if you seek high image quality and have use for a higher end SLR camera, you will not be disappointed with this particular model, (unless you are just starting out and don't own a large inventory of "L" grade Canon lenses; I am aware that there is an adapter for EF to the newer RF type lenses). I would be comfortable recommending this model to other photographers who have a need for this type of camera.

I have been waiting for this camera for awhile and it did not disappoint. As a wedding photographer it's really important to have a camera that can focus fast and great in low lighting. I usually get a lot of noise on low lighting but this has low noise even when I'm using ISO 12000. There's also wifi, gps and touch screen that I use daily. If you're a true professional photographer then buying this camera is a no brainer.

This is a camera that does it all. I am an amateur photo person that wanted to up his game. The ease of learning this camera with the touch screen is amazing. The images either in still or video surpass anything I have shot before. I use Canon lenses and the improvement using the same lenses is to say the least noticeable. This is a huge improvement over the Mark iii in my opinion.

This is an amazing camera. It's actually my 2nd time owning it. The first one fell into a waterfall in Olympic Nation Park when I also fell into that waterfall. Long story. Anyway. I love the vibrant colors, the sharpness, and having the ability to use the touch screen to tell the Mark IV what I want it to focus on.

Recently upgraded to the Mark 4 from the Mark two and wow what a difference. It is crystal clear especially with the in depth detail shots and the touch screen takes it to a whole new level with touch to focus and touch to take capabilities. My team and I use this camera for everything from newborn shoots to weddings. Unreal camera.

This is a camera for professionals. Don't buy this thinking you're going to get amazing photos just because it's high quality and expensive. You have to know how to use all the features, and lots of features it has. If you're not a professional or willing to put in the time to learn to use this to its full potential, get more of a novice/intermediate camera like the Rebel line.

Upgraded from the 7D. WOW. I was hesitant to purchase the 5D MK IV because of all the underwhelming reviews of its recent release. But if you're upgrading from a crop sensor- do not hesitate. It was very much worth it. The clarity alone and the auto focus- amazing. Touch screen and wifi are great added features. I haven't been able to put it down since I got it.

This camera is awesome! Totally exceeded my expectations. The image quality is amazing, and the video quality is better than any camera I've ever used. It's nice that it is touch screen. One thing I was surprised about is that you can set it to keep taking pictures so that you could set up a tripod and be in some photos. This is the only camera I know of that you can set how many and how often you want it to take pictures. (I set it for every 3 seconds it takes a photo up to 30 photos. Extremely helpful while capturing our Christmas card photos with dogs!) Also, Connor at the Niagara Falls Blvd location was extremely helpful. He wasn't even in the camera section but he came over and helped. He is knowledgable and I was thankful he was there to answer questions.

Recently Added A Second 5D Mark IV

I was already using a “team” of 7D Mark II and 5Ds R cameras, when I added my first 5D Mark IV, in early 2018. The 5D Mark IV brought better AF and built-in GPS to the table. I added my second 5D Mark IV in mid-2024. Macro photography, in field conditions, remains a priority, and Canon EOS EF DSLRs, EF lenses, and Macro flash still do that so very well.

A Professional DSLR Full-Frame Camera from Canon

This is the best Canon I've ever had. The flagship of Canon Full-Frame DSLR cameras and of course, it's pricey but the shots are just absolutely amazing. Also, it performs really well in low light. I'd recommend this camera to all professional/semi-professional photographers.

I had to upgrade my camera. It was a hard decision, especially after looking and listening to many other reviews on various Canon cameras. So I did my own review based on my own desires. I wanted to remain in the Canon family of cameras. This is an exceptionally great camera. It meets all my needs and beyond.

I upgraded from a Canon 5D Mark II and am so glad I did. This camera is fantastic in every way possible. Love the GPS, love the dual memory cards and all the options that come with them, love the touch screen, just love everything about this camera. Only complaint is the User's Guide. Canon would do well to reorganize their writing department.

Great build, Great pictures - Too Expensive.

Love the build materials (magnesium Alloy), the photos are great, very easy to use, love the touch screen, canon quality through and through. However, one major drawback with this is that the camera isn't supported with Aperture, or CS6 (it's not really the camera's fault) but given the fact that the 5D MIII does still work - I probably would have bought that instead and saved over a grand. Wifi capability built in is a nice function but the integration of how to setup and get it to work is not easy, Like that it has USB 3 connection, made of Mag-Allow, it's hefty (which helps with balancing when you have a large lens attached), All in all it's a really good camera- you just have to live with a few compromises.

I love this camera. My astrology pictures with 30.4 can be cropped nicely. Color it produces is gorgeous. It has more features that I'm just learning. Using Canon 100-400 with the 5d mark iv has been mid altering with tac sharp images.

I've been running my own photography website for over five years now at TheVisualGeek.com and within that time I've upgraded my camera twice. I went from a Canon SXI to a Canon 7D, but have been waiting over four years for this camera to come out and I'm so happy that it finally did. Of course it's expensive and I wouldn't recommend it for a point and shoot person looking to upgrade, but if you've been taking photography more seriously and it's your passion, then do yourself a favor and buy this camera.

I've used the mark 3 for last couple years and couldn't be happier with the upgrades. Touch screen and wifi are awesome. Now I can just edit on my iPad if I need to directly syncs. MP quality improved. New batteries operate faster bursts. Same memory cards. Buttons same spot, menu is the same. So easy transition into the 4.
