I've had my Canon 6D for just over a week now, and I really like this camera! Controls are intuitive (especially if you have owned Canon DSLRs before), picture quality is amazing, and great colors! I was worried about autofocus, but I can tell you this camera does NOT have a problem with focus. I mostly use the center point, but even the non-center-points have given me fast, accurate focus. I've even used this camera for some birds-in-flight photo's using 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, and even after cropping, got some very nice pictures. I'm using this camera mostly for portraits, but it seems to handle all assignments like a pro!

Switched from a Nikon D90. Full frame and ease of use makes me glad to be back with the Canon system. The low light capability and the crystal clear images are worth the admission price.

Currently have a Canon 80D which is a great camera, but wanted to add a full frame camera to my arsenal. After much research decided on the Canon EOS 6D. The 6D has many of the same qualities as the much more expensive 5D Mark III, but the 5D is about $1,100 more money. If you need a more sophisticated auto focus system, dual memory cards, more fps and better build quality then consider the 5D Mark III. I use the 6D for portraits, landscapes, low-light and night shoots and am very pleased with the results. I use the 80D for wildlife, sports and action because of the more advanced auto focus system, the extra reach and higher fps. You get a lot of bang for your buck with the 6D!

This is a great step up for an experienced dslr user looking to make the leap to a full frame sensor. The large sensor paired with the incredibly high iso levels makes shooting in low light a delight. Paired up with a quick lens like the 50mm 1.4 you'll get great photos with ease. In camera HDR is a lot of fun to play with too!

I hadn't used an DSLR in 7 or 8 years but wanted to get back into photography. I had been using an advanced point and shoot (Canon G7x and G3x) and have been happy with most shots. But, they just can't do the same as an SLR. So I decided to purchase this one. I have the original 5D and this is a major improvement especially in low light shots. I still want a smaller camera to fly with but this is great for driving and doing flower shots around my house with a tripod. I have many Canon lenses and have been happy with the results from this camera. I looked at this vs the 6D Mark2 and decided on this one because of the price and also because most reviewers said this one had better low light capability. I would have liked the tilt screen but would rather have the better function in low light. Money is always an object but I could have afforded the other one but choose this one instead not because of the price but because of the better low light performance. The cameras use different sensors and the other has a different one. I kind of like tried and true. I still want an M6 to travel with but I am very happy with this one at home. I am posting a flower shot done on a tripod with this camera. I am very happy with my purchase.

I'm upgrading from a Canon Rebel 1000, and I found this Canon 6D totally in line with my expectations. The built quality you can feel as you take it out of the box. You can take pictures with incredible high ISO settings with very noise. I'm really enjoying this camera.

The camera as a whole is exactly what I expected. The only issue I found that reall came as no surprise was the weak autofocus feature. But the picture quality and performance save that are great.

I shoot about 50 weddings a year and was using a Canon 5Dmk3 and a 5Dmk2. When the MK2 died I was torn between another 5Dmk3 or a 6D. The price was my main factor. The 6D is far cheaper. The images are as good as my 5Dmk3. The only down side is autofucus in low light away from the centre point is slow. But central is real good. The High ISO performance is amazing and being a smaller body I love it as I carry two cameras.

I am a lifestyle photographer who upgraded to the Canon 6D from my 60D model. I read countless reviews and watched numerous videos before making my decision. Bottom line, this is an amazing camera in the very affordable range for a full frame DSLR. I'll start with what it lacks: - Only has one card slot (Having two card slots would be beneficial to those of us who need that extra assurance against loss of client photos due to card errors. Would be nice if this model had two card slots!) - Crosstype AF points (I daresay this model is way behind on a level of AF points. If you shoot action, this is likely not the camera for you. My style is to use the center point focus and recompose, so it hasn't been the biggest issue for me.) - No tilt screen on back (My 60D had the rotate and tilt screen on the back of the camera, making it so easy to get some amazing angles while still being able to see my composition and focus. Not so with this camera, and it really is a bummer!) Now for the positive! - AMAZING low light performance. I pitted my camera up against a friend's Canon 5D MkIII and under the same conditions and ISO settings, my photos had significantly less noise! - Can't beat the price. For a full frame DSLR, this model is easy on the pocket and produces professional results. - Quality (For Canon devotees such as me, this camera really hits it out of the park. The interface is familiar and comfortable to use, as are all of the buttons.) If you're like me, you've done your research. You aren't going to get EVERYTHING you want with a full frame DSLR in this price range, but if you decide what is most important to you and this camera meets those needs, this is a surefire purchase!

Canon EOS 6D is the world's smallest and lightest full-frame DSLR. The Canon 6D is the world's second-best DSLR regardless of price, right behind the very similar Canon 5D Mark III. If you're in the market for a full-frame DSLR for ultimate technical quality and super-fast autofocus for action, but don't want to pay extra for (or carry the weight of) the 5D Mark III, the 6D is about 95% of the 5D Mark III for a lot less money. I own both, and see and feel very little difference between them. (I also own the Nikon D600, which is inferior). Even if the price was the same, the reduced weight of the 6D often makes it a better choice for carrying all day. Technical image quality is extraordinary and the same as the 5D Mark III; megapixels mean nothing today, and the 6D looks great even shot at ISO 25,600. With the 6D, you need not spend extra for fast lenses, and with automatic lens aberration correction, cheap lenses that didn't look very good on older cameras like the old 5D Mark II now look stunning when used properly on the 6D.

I'm a serious hobby photographer making the jump to semi-pro. I bought this camera as an upgrade to my T3i and I'm thrilled with my purchase. I shoot mainly portraits, events, and sports and have it paired up with L-series glass. The picture quality is right on par with the 5DmkIII, but at about half the price. The low-light performance is ASTOUNDING! On my previous camera, once I got above ISO 1600, the noise was very noticeable. I can crank the ISO on this baby up to 6400 without any hesitation. The GPS and wireless features are great to have and the remote app for your iPhone is fantastic. Also, it uses the same batteries as the 5DmkIII so when I'm ready to upgrade to that, I don't need to buy new batteries. I only have two complaints about this camera. First, it has 11 auto-focus points where only the center is a cross-type. It's still an upgrade to what I was previously using, but it's way behind the other full frame cameras in that respect. It's perfectly capable for shooting portraits, but if you're shooting sports (I shoot Roller Derby) you may find it harder to lock focus if you aren't using that center point. My second issue is that the flash sync speed is 1/160 of a second. Even my T3i was at 1/200. The only time thats a real hindrance is when I'm shooting into the sun utilizing a fill flash. Overall, I love this camera and couldn't be happier with the purchase. The autofocus and flash sync speed are things that I notice from time to time, but don't make me regret buying it at all. If you're upgrading to a full frame camera and aren't able to drop the cash on the 5DmkIII, this is a fantastic option.

Did a lot of research and, while there are cameras comparable in price and stronger in some ways, this was the camera for me for the following reasons: Awesome low light performance with little to no noise Compatibility with existing lenses Full frame sensor Lots of accessories Medium to small body size without compromising grip Every technical feature I need now or later Desired (not cons): Faster FPS Dual mory card slots Third custom function Screen stay on during video recording snapshot Screen stay on when changing camera mode Articulated rear screen Better battery life while using live view Overall, a great, great camera.

I was using a Canon 60D and just upgraded to the 6D yesterday. First impressions are excellent! Two days ago I did a photo shoot of a family with my 60D. It was overall successful with about 50% of my images as keepers. Today I used the 6D in a similar photo shoot and also took it to the zoo to test it. Out of 700 pics taken, ONLY 10-15 were not keepers. Unbelievable! Excellent colors, crisp focus, feels good in my hands. I was considering the extra money for the 5D mark iii because of the auto-focus system, but decided to save money instead. I made the right choice. Even though it is only 11 point auto-focus it is extremely fast to focus. I was also able to focus in almost complete darkness accurately. The noise with high iso is also acceptable. I took a pick of the same image with the full range up to 25600. I could hardly see any noise up to 5000 at all. It was even ok around 20000 (attached 2 photo examples of high iso in low light). It was very impressive. I can't wait until my next wedding! I tried the wireless option on my Samsung Galaxy briefly. It works and is a nice option to have. I am not sure if I will be able to apply it to professional photography, but it does leave some options open. Sorry- haven't hardly messed with the video yet.

I waited a few months of using the 6D before writing this review. I'm not going to have a big review like most because I think there are too many already. I will review what I like/dislike about it from my experience coming from a Canon Rebel XS. Quality: Obviously this is a no brainer the 6D is just amazing. Price: I got a good deal for it but the value you get with this camera is worth the price. Like: It has great ISO performance. I use auto ISO set at max of 12800. You may get a little unwanted noise but should be fine. For Professional use, I wouldn't go past 6400. It is light. I didn't feel a change in weight (not technically) from my XS. You could carry it in one hand with a 50mm lens and see no shake in pic. I really like the Wifi. The Wifi saves me money by not having to buy a wireless trigger. The control and setup is easy. The wifi is an awesome feature to have. Also nice is the free canon app on android. Coming from the XS i didn't have the video capability, but it is most welcome. I enjoy learning the videography side. Silent Mode is just well, silent. You can barely make out the flip-flop noise. I've used it church and let me tell you, only I can hear it. Perfect for wedding, macro, and the like. I really enjoy some of the new auto functions like auto iso, shutter speed min, auto light optimizer, etc. These come in handy when you need them. Dislike: It has really short battery life when just Wifi is turned on. I heard bad review regarding this but didnt expect it to be that short. The Q button isn't really as good as I was hoping for. I'd rather have the quick access button to all your WB, Picture, Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed, etc... I don't really like having to go through Q to get WB and Picture every time I need them. The 1/180 flash sync is just a pain i.e. either 1/160 or higher, annoying to get 1/180 when desire. In different modes Av/Tv/M, it functions differently but the worse is M mode using off camera flash. It needs a little practice but just an annoyance to learn. The Autofocus points on a pricey camera as the 6D ought to be better than the 7D but it is not. I can't complain much here because it is still better than my old XS. I use center point mostly anyhow. Conclusion: If you are upgrading from a crop sensor, you will really like the quality and ISO. These two specs alone is worth the price. If you prefer a cheaper alternative, you can go with the 5D mark ii used. Actually for the difference in price ie. $200-300 more at most, i'd rather go with the 6D vs the 5D2. If you have a full frame already like the 5D or 5DII or 1D series, i recommend jumping to the 5D3 or 1DX.

I upgraded from a 60D to the 6D about 6 weeks ago and have been very satisfied so far. The biggest improvement I've noticed is in the reduced noise at higher ISOs as I can shoot at 1600 or even 3200 with very little issues. I did have a concern about only having 11 focus points with one cross-type, but I always have it set to focus on only the center focus point anyway so it's actually been a non-issue. Granted I don't shoot many moving subjects like sports or flying birds so don't know if I would have a different opinion if I did. I've connected the camera to my mobile phone and iPad via the WiFi and the software seems to work pretty well. Although I don't use that feature much, it's good to know the option is available if I want it. Overall I like the 6D very much and am happy I did the upgrade.

I've been shooting a Canon 6D for 2 years ... it is an outstanding piece of gear and probably Canon's most underrated camera. I shoot landscapes, airshows, and astrophotography (one of its strong areas due to low-light performance). Image quality is outstanding, ergonomics, and menus are great. Build quality is excellent. Solid full-frame performer. The only 2 cons are: 1) the frames/sec rate of 4.5 is slow (if you're a SPORTS photographer, this is not the best option) HOWEVER, as an Airshow photographer, it still does a remarkable job due to its great sensor (you just get fewer "hits" when panning on a moving target 2) the AF system is only an 11-point grid, unlike the 61-point system on a 5D or 7D series.
