Optimal camera and cost-effective compared between the Canon 7D and 5D mackIII. Optimum for personal or professional goals. The new functions of wifi and GPS are great for being considered for use in travel and control the camera remotely.

This camera was an easy upgrade from my REBEL T3i with little to no learning curve. I immediately fell in love with the larger viewfinder, lightweight, and awesome low-light capability. Another awesome Canon product!

Excellent light gathering with the right lens and full frame sensor. Cuts down noise when shooting in high ISO setting. Being a Semi Pro photographer this was just one more camera in the stable. It is a great camera will full frame sensor fort he price point. Most of my work is in the studio with strobes of different varieties and the camera is set on manual mode. I think this would work well the the enthusiast as well since it has many of the same functions the lower end models have. With a Canon 24-105 f/4L lens attached it gives very crisp clear photos. It's hard to say how the color would be since I shoot all my photos in RAW mode and then do post processing in software. To sum it up the camera is everything I want, it's easy to use, has good quality, as you would expect from Canon or any of the other major players in the camera field. I've never had a bad experience with Canon since my first in 1980, this one is shaping up to be on par for the family line!!

Stepped up from 7D which was nice but crop frame. Full frame helps get whole subject in, tack sharp images too! Very impressed. Lighter smaller and more intuitive placing of buttons make this camera easier to use as well.

This is a pricy camera, but if you are looking for a full frame DSLR, you're likely aware this is one of the more modestly priced options available. Make no mistake, though: this is no entry level camera, and the pictures you take will rival that of any body out there.
What's great about this camera:
- size and weight approximates an APS-C (cropped frame) camera. It is, I believe, the lightest full frame available.
- sturdy, weatherproof construction
- simply amazing in low light situations: shots remain noise free even at 8k+ ISO
- onboard GPS for geotagging photos is a nice feature for landscape/travel photography
What's not so great:
- the Wi-Fi functionality is "neat", but has an underdeveloped, "gimmicky" feel to it. The EOS app is a little slow, getting the wifi set up is bothersome, and there's no intervalometer there. This can all be addressed with firmware/app updates, though, so - it's a weakness now, but can easily be transformed into something fantastic.
- the GPS is 'always on' while enabled. Even if you turn the camera off, the GPS will continue to update - and I get the rationale behind it - it takes a minute or so for the GPS to acquire a location after being enabled - so if you're using your camera frequently, it makes sense to not need to get a signal every time you turn off/on your camera for a few minutes. That said, it does chew up battery life.
- the viewfinder covers 97% of the actual picture... I never notice this, but mention it as it came up often in other reviews while I was researching the camera before I purchased. What's that mean? Your picture will capture ever-so-slightly more than what you see in the viewfinder. I'm a hobbyist - I don't notice this one bit.
- 11 AF points. This is the one stat of this camera that lags well behind it's other full-frame brethren. For example, the 5d mark II has like 500000 of them. I may be a bit off there, but you get the point. Still, in a month of shooting with the camera, I've not ever found myself complaining about the camera not focusing quickly on what I want it to - and it's normally my 20 month old daughter running around.
I can't really speak to the video performance, as I bought this entirely to take photos with. There are plenty of reviews out there, though.
In summary:
If you're shooting with a cropped frame camera and have been debating over whether or not to make the (pricy) leap to full-frame: if you have the available funds, go for it. I waited and deliberated a long time on this, but since getting the camera and seeing the results, I've never once regretted the purchase. If anything, I wish I'd gotten it sooner.

I recently purchased a Canon 6D package but had some issues finding all of the items included in the package. The manager that worked with me was fantastic and did everything in his power to fulfill the promises of the package deal. I was able to purchase my camera and have been LOVING it.

My favorite part of this camera is the capability to instantaneously transfer pictures to your smartphone with the app. Also, being able to position the camera somewhere, and being able to view how the picture will turn out as well as taking the picture via remote with your smartphone.

Does great work - for a higher end camera but not something that's going to kill the wallet. Love the ease with which you can switch modes and settings - take the time to know your camera before going on a shoot.
