Great Camera to upgrade to Full Frame
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market to upgrade my Canon T3i and was looking at either the 7D or 60D. However since this went on sale, I figured I might as well upgrade to a Full Frame and get the 6D. So far I have no regrets with my purchase. The image quality, especially when paired with the 24-105L lens, is awesome! One of my biggest reason also for upgrading to the 6D was I read reviews saying that it was great in low light conditions. I've been able to bump up the ISO as high as 3200 and the noise is tolerable and can still be fixed in post edit. Where as with my T3i, anything above 400 was way too noisy. The high ISO performance also makes up for the 24-105L lens only having a F-stop of 4. The build quality of both the body and lens is great. Definitely feels like you're getting your money's worth. Also, it's a lot lighter than I was expecting Even with the battery grip I purchased for it and the lens, it's not much heavier than my T3i. The Wi-Fi feature is a neat thing to have though I don't think many users of this camera will actually use it. It's great if you want to upload right away to your computer or to social media. The Wi-Fi and built in GPS does use up a bit of the battery life so be forewarned (I turned off both features when I didn't need it). The 6D does not have a built in flash so take that into consideration (If you're looking to go Full Frame, you probably don't even use built in Flash anyway) Overall a great entry level Full Frame DSLR especially for the price.

An incredible purchase from Best Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been the owner of a Canon T2i (550) for a couple of years, and took thousands of photos with it. The image quality was excellent, and I used several of Canon's best "L" lenses on it which optimized the output. I decided to upgrade to full frame, and thought I would move to a 5D Mark III. However, after considerable research, I learned that you can get the same image quality and most of the features out of a 6D at a fraction of the price. I identified one online at a good price, and stopped in a Best Buy store to handle it in person before I ordered. I told the sales associate there what my plans were, and I was shocked to hear that they have a policy of matching prices even with established online stores! They matched the price, and I bought it from them on the spot! There is a world of difference between the 6D and the T2i -- not to slight the T2i at all. The 6D is just that much better in so many ways -- image quality, build quality, handling, features, feel, and also pride of ownership. I got it with the 24-105 L lens, and the photos are almost like magic! This prompted me to buy yet another L lens, the 135mm f2. This camera seems to actually CREATE light in low-light situations without flash, and the 24-105 lens is image stabilized so I actually gain a full 4 f-stops to work with. There is a magical quality in the colors and the bokeh this thing produces. I have had expensive Nikons, and the Canon seems to be alone in its ability to generate that "other-worldly" look. The 6D is equal to the best of all of them in this regard. I now feel that my equipment is about the best you can own, and that the only limitation on what I can do with it is my own skill level (which the camera makes appear better than it actually is!). For people who go beyond the basic point and shoot cameras into more serious SLRs, you know that this is what you are really after -- and all else is a compromise! You live once -- and if you are buying a camera for enjoyment, why not get the one you really want and truly enjoy it! I will always check Best Buy before I purchase additional items of any type. They surprised me!

Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera about one month ago and I have no regrets about it. The image quality is very good and I'm really enjoying my Canon EOS 6D; The Wifi connection is quite awesome! You can see all the images from your SD card in your mobile phone and besides this you can control the camera from your phone (exposure including). I didn't use the gps feature, but it's really easy to use, like the equipment. Like a Nikon user that I used to be, It was very simple to change my camera brand and I spent just a couple of minutes to understand that all the controls are inverted. The last thing I have to say is about the Canon EF 24-105mm F/4 USM II. It's a fantastic lens!! I bought the camera instead of the Nikon D610 because of this lens and like I said before.. have no regrets.

Great Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a Canon S51, and they are worlds apart in price as well as quality. The great thing is, I was able to get amazing photos with no training and only a few internet searches in time invested.

Great Full Frame Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although most rant and rave about the 6D's performance in low light and landscape portraits, it does perform well when taking action shots. All in all this camera is great - spend some time familiarizing yourself with the settings.

Too good for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is awesome. It has some many options that I haven't explored all them all yet. It's a little complicated for someone that isn't trained or not willing to learn all it's options. It came with a free tri-pod so that sweetened the deal.

Love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Debated between the mark and this one for a while. The only thing I feel like I'm missing out on, in terms of my use, is the live view. I tend to usually manually focus anyway when I do use it, but the AF capability in live view is pretty bad. Other than that I love this body!

Incredible upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking to upgrade to a full frame camera and I did lots of online reading prior to my purchase. You just can't beat the deal on the 6D - for the features you get and the quality photos it delivers! Love it!

Excellent Camera for a Novice

Beast of a Full Frame!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased at my local Best Buy for the sale price of 1999.99 with 2 year warranty. Coming from a Canon 60D which is a crop sensor, then on to this 6D full frame sensor, the image quality is night and day! Build quality is sturdy and strong! It feels great in hand and doesn't at all feel like a toy. The kit lens is a marvelous 24-105mm L quality lens, which was a big selling point and a L glass lens which has a reasonable amount of zoom. I will definitely be getting the Canon 50mm f1.2 L lens soon enough, but this kit lens does wonders! Maybe not the best in low light performance but it is sharp as a ninja sword, picture quality is unreal clear and again sharp! Can't wait to get the Canon 50mm f1.2 L lens and possibly the Rokinon 14mm f2.8 wide angle! Uploaded Photos: - Full Moon over Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. Photo settings: 1/2 a second at f4, 1600 ISO with noise reduction turned off. - Two images of the Canon 6D and kit lens inside a Canon 300DG bag and Lowepro Format 160 bag, a generic bubble leveler connected on top the camera on the hot shoe.

Excellent entry level Camera for Full Frame
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have actually purchased 2 of these units. I have owned my first one since 2014. I have put about 30K actuations on the sensor and still have not had to have the body serviced. This camera body has been exposed to extreme Heat and Cold temperatures ranging from -2 TO 115 degrees(f). Basically I was in the middle of white out conditions when using it and it still beat the weather. This camera is a dream to hold and to use. Coming from the Canon 50D I did find myself missing the little joystick at the upper center next to the eye cup. That took a lot of getting use to. This camera has yet to disappoint me, it's a tank. The ISO speeds take some getting use to as well. As an old school film photographer it's hard for me to think that anything above ISO 1000 can really look all that great. Even on my old 50D that was true, but with this full frame 6D I have been able to push exposures upwards of ISO 2000 before I really start to see any noise..... and I'm really looking for it lol. WiFi and GPS built in are AWESOME. Having the capability to snap something with my camera and send it to my phone or table is HUGE. Plus camera control is so much better with a tablet especially at night when you really need a larger screen to tell if you really do have a sharp focal point. As for the down sides to this camera body..... the auto focus points are very minimal... Only 7 auto focus points and only 1 of those is cross type, but if you are not shooting professional sports then that doesn't really matter... additionally, this camera will only max at 3 frames per second, but again with the professional sports thing....doesn't really matter... Also, I thought that Canon would have built in auto focus tracking for the video features on their DSLRs by now but the 6D does not incorporate that functionality here. If you do plan to shoot video with the 6D you will need to manually focus before and during the time you are recording. Alternatively, you can use the AutoFocus button on the thumb control, but this may cause the camera to change the live view exposure in order to acquire the correct focus, and this change in exposure will show on your video. I don't really shoot a lot of video so that doesn't really make or break this camera body for me. I have really enjoyed this camera body so far, so much in fact that i purchased an additional 6D as a backup. This body will work in just about any conditions you are working in. It's light and travels pretty easily. If you are planning on adding the optional battery grip, be warned you are going to lose that weight advantage. If you are looking for a great entry level full frame camera body then this is IT!!!

Excellent Pro Body with Best In Class Low Light
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a gateway camera or a beginners pro or a prosumer camera... It has been called that. It is basically a 5D Mark II with even better low light capability launched as the 6D with an upgraded sensor with WiFi and GPS value adds. It is easy to use and the AF system isn't simplistic - it is an elegantly simple system that a pro can appreciate and that an amateur can easily master, and it lends to great results. Not a pro camera for sports, but definitely one for still life (or at least more still than sports) of all kinds. Highly recommended especially when you consider that you can get a 6D and a 7D Mark II for as much as a 5D Mark III and have way more versatility. Don't hesitate - get it.

Love my Canon 6D!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Canon 6D to replace a Canon Rebel we lost on vacation. I was completely happy with my Rebel, but now that I've taken the step up to the 6D, there's no going back! I cannot believe how great this camera does in low light situations--even without a flash. Get the 28-105 mm L lens--fantastic images! I've taken amazing shots at football, basketball, and marching band events with just the basic settings, because I haven't had a chance to learn all of the features yet. I can only imagine what my photographs will be like once I learn all this camera has to offer!

Great Entry Level Full Frame
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Canon DSLR and I am more than happy with the 6D! After starting out on a crop sensor body (60D), it was amazing to see how wide these images were in comparison. I had heard some negative comments about the auto focus system with this camera, but after using it, I have no complaints! I would not recommend this for action photography however, as I do not think it would be extremelt effective for that. I mainly do landscape and arcitectural work and it is perfect for my needs. My one small complaint is the barrel distorion with the 24-105 f4L. You can get some pretty extreme distortion (easy enough to correct in post-processing) but still a little annoying. One note, if you are just starting out, you will DEFINITELY need more glass than this kit comes with. The effective zoom I was used to with crop sensors is really throwing me for a loop! Plan on buying a 200 or 300mm zoom lens.

Good full frame Camera at reasonable price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera to replace both my aging Canon 1Ds and 40D. I had specific uses for these cameras, which did not require an exceptional burst rate or extremely durable construction. The body I would judge as about equal in construction to the 40D, certainly not at the 1Ds level. My specific requirements were for the full 35mm equivalent sensor size to get the maximum view from my wide angle lenses, and WiFi capability for use with my event photography software. No complaints about the image size and quality, its suits my purposes well. The WiFi menu is not as robust as what was available with the 40D WFT-E3A, but I was able to set up my laptop and smart phone to communicate with the 6D using the Canon Software. However, without my previous experience with the 40D wireless, it would have taken me much longer to set up. Once set up though, it worked well, but much slower. This is probably due to the much larger image files being transmitted. When shooting event portraits with time-critical shoot and print, the large jpegs seemed to take too long to download. Setting the jpeg size to Medium helped remedy that, and there is an option to transmit only the jpegs and still record the full size raw files so you always have the best file possible. The only hitch I have encountered on two separate occasions is an image not recording or transmitting. I have not determined why this occurred, but it may have been because I shot two rapidly between images. I always take at least two images of my event portraits, but if you have taken a critical image, it may be best to check to make sure it recorded. Overall, I am very pleased with this cameras capabilities, at a price less than the 40D plus WFT-3A adapter.
