My wife has been doing professional photography now for a few years. She was using the Canon Rebel T3i, and really enjoyed it. About 2 months ago we upgraded her to the Canon 6D and the difference has been huge. She spends about half as much time editing photo's now as she used to. Well worth the money. The lens is a a great all around lens as well.

Finally a way to enter the world of full frame sensor as a hobbyist because the camera price point is so much more affordable. The camera is intuitive, and controls are almost exactly like those on my 60D. I only wish the HDR was more robust, but then I guess that is why others look to the 5D Mark III

This is a great camera with full frame. Suitable for travel (even though it's a little heavy, but it's full frame and I can live with that.) Only weakness would be the 13 focus point which is far less that 5d mark 3's 57 point. However considered that it's $1100 cheap that 5d mark 3, this is really a great full frame camera with good price.

Perform well on higher ISO settings, with Built in GPS and WIFI. No built in flash would be a downside

LOVE my new camera. Upgraded from having a Rebel T3i for two years and using a 60D for three months. This camera works great, is fast, clear, lots of focus points, the auto focus on the lens is magnificent.

I had been wanting to upgrade to a full frame (from the t2i) and chose this one since I use the same model at school. Love the high ISO capability, option to rate images in camera, and the fact that the bundle came with a L series lens (and the hood and lens pouch). Camera body feels sturdy, yet comfortable to use. Good bundle for the money.

This is my first DSLR and I've got to say this is exactly what I needed to step up my photography skills. Before this, I was doing smartphone photography with my Lumia 1020 and loved taking pictures. I felt limited with my phone to take better, more professional photos. So, I looked into a DSLR and thought this was a perfect fit and it is. This full frame sensor with easy to read/highlight AF points are a huge help as an amateur. The L lens are a big satisfactory when it comes to IS and AF. It basically does very well in low light situations (even without a tripod). There's a mode called Night Handheld Scene which shoots in dark places without a tripod and I'm impressed by the noise reduction (Noises start to be visible at 12,800 ISO from normal view). GPS and Wi-fi are also another plus with this camera, although I do not keep it turned on for the duration of the camera. If I want location on a photo, I can snap an image that logs GPS info and then later in Canon's Map Utility software, append all the images to that location. Sometimes AF will over expose areas which can be annoying. To efficiently combat this, I recommend lowering the exposure level a little or use evaluative metering to spot exactly where you want the camera to reflect brightness. 24-105mm f/4 L Lens is a great lens and usually L series are very good lens equipped with IS. Although this is not a one lens fit all, however it does good for most common situations such as architecture, sports, buildings, portraits, etc. Overall, a very worthy purchase.

The Canon 6D simply produces the best images at this price point of any camera on the market. Canon ergonomics are always spot on and Canon colors are the best in the business. Durability and quality control are great. The center auto-focus is great, focuses down in very very low light. The other auto-focus points are not as sensitive, unfortunately.

If you chose to treat this camera like an expensive point and shoot, you would still be getting pictures that are amazing right out of the camera. But treating it as such would be a great disservice to yourself because once you start testing out the various manual modes, you can really see a difference in the quality of pictures. There are multiple adjustments you can make (exposure level, white balance, portrait vs landscape) giving you a true fluidity in the types of pictures you can take. Some of these are readily visible in the viewfinder, but there is an extensive list of choices via the menu you can pull up on the live screen. The menu is incredibly similar to the menu choices on my 11+ year old Canon point and shoot so if you're already used to Canon, there isn't as great a learning curve. However, there are so many functions and options that it may still take a while to remember where you can find something again. Overall, though, there is a lot of growing room for photographers with this camera. What made the camera even more exciting for me is the high quality lens that came with it. It is one of the luxury level lens. Heavier (a bit difficult to get used to that around your neck, newbies!), but I have been able to take great macro photos of bees, clouds in the distance, and people-pleasing portraits in between. If you are a beginner photographer, you can probably grow for quite a while with this lens before you even have to worry about purchasing more. All in all, while it is an expensive purchase, it's incredibly serviceable, durable, high quality, and excellent for growing your technique!

Bought this as gift for wife on 25th anniversary for trip to Hawaii. She loved it. Spent more time taking pics than talking to me (I wasn't complaining!). Images were breathtakingly real. Bought the body and a lens in a kit. Great combo for a decent price.

Used to have the Canon t2i and needed an upgrade. This camera is amazing and so great for the intermediate to professional photographer. The potential photos with this camera is amazing. I had no problem with my old Canon except the ISO and the quality of photos and the Canon 6D blew away any and all of my expectations.

I will review this camera body and lens from a professional photographer's point of view. Since I purchased the camera after carefully comparing the 6D to Canon 5D Mark III, my review and camera comparison will be based on this. I have very small hands (I am only 4'9"). One of the reasons for my choice to purchase the 6D vs. the Canon Mark III was the size 2.8" vs. 3", and it weighs 770 g vs. 950 g. Although that may not sound like much, if you have small hands the difference makes holding, gripping and carrying this camera much more comfortable. The viewfinder coverage is 97%, and is sufficient for me. The viewing screen is a generous 3", a little smaller than the MIII's 3.2", but It is bright and very accurate for color and resolution. Easy to use controls. Focusing is fast and accurate. The 6D has 1 cross-type focusing point, which is much less than the Mark III, which, at lens apurtures below 2.8 can be a pain using auto focus. However, It is very easy and quick to change focusing points. Image quality is excellent, and in my opinion the 6D may slightly edge out the MIII. The 6D has GPS built in. You can geotag your photos with the camera's location as you take them. For landscape or travel photography this is a huge advantage. With the MIII you have to puchase GPS separately. One of the features of this camera I absolutely love is the built in WiFi and connectivity to your other devices. I use it in my studio with my Samsung Galaxy Note to allow my clients to view their photos as I take them. We are actually able to rate the images right in the studio, saving me valuable time in post production. ISO range is great. I have tested the high ISO up to 20k. Up to 10k the noise is minimal, especially if you turn on the in camera noise reduction. Above 10k ISO, the noise is acceptable but much more visible if you are a pixel peeper. One disadvantage vs the Mark III is that there is only 1 memory card slot. I really liked the MIII's dual memory card capacity. Image quality is excellent. The 6D has a full frame sensor, which is excellent. Color and dynamic range are great as well. Since I very seldom ever use auto or scene mode, my review is based solely on manual mode. I also shoot in Camera RAW, and I do really like that I can literally color correct, exposure correct, and process RAW files in camera if needed. As with any camera lens choice makes a huge difference in the quality of your image. I purchased this camera with the 24-105 f4L lens. This is one of Canon's pro-line lenses. It is a great go to lens. It is very sharp. There is some chromatic aberation (green or magenta) with very high contrast images, but this is easily corrected in post production. One of the biggest advantages is price. If you are a professional needing to upgrade your equipment and the Mark III or DX-1 are out of your budget range, the Canon 6D is a great choice. The 6D is, in my opinion, The Canon Mark III's little brother.

I started with a Rebel T3i. This was a nice little upgrade after a few years. To me, the color of this camera is better than the 5D Mark iii that I was also considering. I absolutely love the images that have come off this. Beyond happy. Would buy a million times over.
