I recently switched from a Nikon D5200 to the Canon 70D. One of the reasons I wanted to switch was the scroll wheel on the back side and maybe the biggest reason was the touch screen. I found myself using the touchscreen but not as much as I thought. It doesn't get touched inadvertently by the face like some might think. It's nice to have, but not necessary. The scroll wheel is the biggest benefit now that I've had it for 3 weeks. Searching for that perfect picture can be done in a flash compared to the Nikon thumb wheel. I like the live view on/off switch and record button being on the back instead of being on top like the Nikon's. If Canon could work out the center focus point and get that perfected this camera would be a 5.0 all across the board. The burst rate on this camera is fantastic. If you are shooting JPEGS, it does not slow down one bit. Shooting Raw, after your shots have been taken, it takes about 20-30 secs for them to write to the card.
Although a couple of instances I have tried getting fairly close to a part to take photos but it could not focus. I grabbed my Nikon and it could focus no problem. To give you an idea, I took a photo of something as close to it as possible with the Nikon ( with the kit lens to note ) and then did the same thing with the Canon, and it was back at least 8-10" just to get it to focus on the same point as the Nikon. I don't know why this is or if anyone else is having the same issue with the Kit lenses but I noticed it and thought I might note that for anyone who is looking to take shots up close with the kit lens. If everyone was rich it wouldn't be a problem because we could go out and buy a macro lens and not have to worry about it. You can get the same shot with the Canon 70D but you have to be farther back and zoomed in. Hope this helps.

This camera can do so much! It's also not too heavy but very durable. The picture quality is great. There's a setting where you can touch the screen and it takes the picture. I'm a big fan of the live mode and utilize the touch screen greatly. The lens is great and lets me take great telephoto and wide angle shots. Even using 3200 ISO is not grainy.

This is my first Digital DSLR Camera. We all know the battle of Nikon vs. Canon will probably live forever, I chose the Canon 70D based on a trusted friends recommendation. Although still learning the functions of this camera, I have been able to take some amazing pictures, and the video capabilities of this camera with the auto tracking and focus feature make shooting videos amazingly fun and easy.

Chances are if you're looking at this camera you know a bit about it. I won't bore you with the technical details. The bottom line is that this is a great option between a lower end Canon Rebel model and a super-expensive full-frame DSLR. It has all the features of more expensive cameras (more than the 7D) and is an ideal option if you can live with a crop (APS-C) sensor. The camera is intuitive to use and has produced incredible images thus far. I do have two words of caution. First, the price of all DSLRs, including the Canon 70D, fluctuates. Make sure you check other prices and utilize Best Buy's price match ... it could make a big difference. Second, make sure you check your camera when you get it home. I had to exchange the first one I got because after getting it home and looking at it I found that it has been well used previously (the image count was well north of 1,000). Best Buy gladly exchanged it, but it was a bit of a hassle.

I wanted to invest in a nice camera to take pictures of my newborn as he grew. This camera was recommended by the Canon expert at Best Buy because I also wanted to take high quality video. Overall, I'm really impressed with the quality of the photos- they look professionally done. It's also super easy to transfer photos to my phone for easy sharing.

The CANON 70D is perfect for the enthusiast photographer/videographer. The autofocus for video is unbeatable at this price point. The camera is relatively fast and can keep up with most DSLRs out there in the market. Picture quality is nothing short of amazing. Even with the kit lens in the 18-135mm this camera takes sharp pictures. The IMAGE STABILIZATION feature on the kit lens is great for video and really improves the quality of the footage. Overall, I cannot be more happy with my purchase.

As I continue to learn more about photography, this was an excellent step for me with respect to professional level cameras. Allows all the features of a point and click, while at the same time you can make both minor and major adjustments to your shots (ISO, White Bal, dist, etc.) when you're ready and know how to do so. My instructor said this is an excellent camera for those looking to perfect the images they are taking. Solid body, battery performance was also good.

I have a 20D and loved it. I bought it used for just starting out. My sister in law has a 60D and feel in love with it. A few months later I saw the 70D and WOW! I had to buy it! I mostly use for portraits of the kids, sports and nature. The right lens will make the difference...love the wi-fi feature, linked to my iPhone is awesome! I'd recommend this camera to anyone...easy to use, even if you're new at it!
Onboard flash is good but look into getting the Canon 430!

I spoke to a lot of photography friends before getting this camera. This was the number 1 camera that they recommended. I was starting to out grow my other Canon camera. This camera has a lot of features, I have yet to use them all. So far the pictures I have taken are very nice. I am looking forward to when I have time to spend a whole day taking pictures.

This is a great camera for someone outside of the beginner stage. The price is a bit on the high side (only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars) the lens that comes with it is great. Including a photo taken with this camera(different lens however)

I purchased the 70D as an upgrade to the Rebel XS. I've had the 70D for 2 months now and I love it! I was in between choosing from the T6s and the 70D – they're slightly similar cameras but after numerous amounts of research and asking around, the 70D seemed to be the better fit for me. It's a camera I can grow into the more I learn about photography.
