I was so torn between a full frame DSLR, the 7D and the 80D. After looking at reviews, I decided that this was the best all around camera for the money. I'd say it's geared more towards video, but the 24mp sensor is still giving you great quality pics. If you're looking to upgrade to a mid-tier DSLR I'd definitely go with the 80D. It's a great camera for Vlogging or just taking video in general. My favorite video feature is the touch display focus. You can touch any part of the display and the camera will focus on that section. Another great thing I love about this camera is the WiFi capability. I use this a lot, coupled with the Lightroom and Canon apps on my iPhone. This allows me to edit photos on the fly and upload them to social media or whatever platform I need. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. It'll be my main body until I'm ready to move up to a Full Frame.

Great camera body for hobbyist, photography, and video. I had upgraded from a Canon 60D to the 70D and after a week I decided I needed to upgrade to the 80D for the additional auto focus capabilities. Everything about this camera is amazing from the wifi smart app access, lcd touchscreen controls to the amazing quality of prints. I have had oversized prints made and they look stunning. Only thing I would change is to add 4K video and have a full frame sensor but for 1199, you can't beat it!

I bought this camera to photograph the eclipse and Im very happy with it.
I wasn't into photography but always wanted to so this was the perfect time to buy a camera with which I could learn. I think its perfect because its not merely for beginners neither for pros.
Its in the mid range, semi pro.
Love it and takes great pictures, comfortable to grab and handle, and easy to start learning with it.

I recently upgraded to this beauty, and I like how easy it was to move to settings and functions with the touch screen. I'm use to the dial so sometimes I'll use that. This body takes great pictures it's insane what a difference it makes. This 80D went to Japan with me the week after I bought and it was light enough to carry it everywhere!

Best Crop size camera out that Canon offers. I own the Canon SL1 which is a great camera, however switching lenses for wedding shoots or capturing moments on the fly is nerve wrecking. So I decided to get another camera. After researching I found the 80D to have superior video qualities than alot of the other choices, dozens of focusing point to select and many other options. The 80D is just wonderful and excellent camera body to have. I have recorded video and its stunning. The megapixel increase above Canon SL1 and Rebel is obvious when looking at pics. For photos I used the 24mm f/1.4L USM Wide angle and 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM . Excellent photos. Antiflickering in the body is nice for photos. Slight increase in the creamery of boekh (blurring background).
For Videos I use Canon - EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM , this is by far the best lens I have ever used for videos. STM and USM is technogy that suppose to limit the noise and help with faster autofocus. I many lenses with this this technology and the lenses still make noise. This lens make no noise. Meaning you hear no focusing noise in video playback. If you dont have this lens i suggest you get 1. Video features in the 80 D are wonderful.

Received this as a b-day gift (Was on my wish list). Couldn't be happier. It is replacing my T5i as a second body to my 6D. The increased resolution and multi focal points make my pictures pop. I mainly do landscape, nature and wildlife, and the focal points help me compose the pics better. It has more features than I've been able to use, but the touch screen shutter release is very nice and easy to use. Best of all it is compatible with all my lenses, especially my EF long lenses and my EF-S wide angle lenses.
The WiFi is an awesome option. Sync it to you phone or tablet set the camera on a tripod sit back, and wait for the perfect moment the click the shutter with the phone, and the pic is saved to the phone, tablet and SD card.

I did a lot of research before buying this camera. With budget I had I finalized my options to the 6D mark1 and the 80D. The 80D had everything I wanted like touch screen and more focus points. The only drawback was that it's not full frame yet I still shoot professionally with it. Great camera for the money.

This camera is a great upgrade from the Rebels. It is not the hardest camera to learn how to use and is not the easiest. It’s great step up with more complex settings. Great with low light, and great image quality.

I replaced my rebel T3 and what a big difference it was going to the 80D. Camera is built better and feels more comfortable in my hand. It is a bigger body but has texture grip. Added functions like wifi makes it easier when traveling to share my pictures from the the camera to the phone. No need for card readers. AF is fast and accurate and can take pictures with higher ISO without to much noise.

It was a toss up for me between this and the Mark ii, I chose this body because I have small hands and bad wrists, it's much lighter than the Mark, also I liked the cropped sensor as I shoot wildlife and this brings me closer on some lenses. Good price and great camera.

I upgraded from a 40d to this and it just has a lot of extra options and fantastic features that just make life easier as a photographer. I think the 80d is a fantastic enthusiast camera, not a professional camera. Full frame will always do you better. But still, this thing is powerful and awesome!

I've had this camera for about 2 months now and as somewhat of a beginner, I'm really enjoying learning all of the functions it has. The weight is ideal for me and love the touchscreen feature on the viewfinder. I'm currently using it with a prime lens and am really loving experimenting with it on this body. I recommend going to a store and testing it out in comparison to other EOS bodies so you can get a feel for it and all of its capabilities.

I had a 70D for 3 1/2 years and I was ready for an upgrade. The picture quality and focus on the 80D are such an improvement over the 70D. Very happy with my purchase.

I was originally looking to upgrade my camera to a fullframe but decided to go with the 80D because of the aps-c lenses thatvwas already invested.
From an old T2i to this new 80D is a much needed upgrade. The images come out great and with the new 45 auto focusing points to help capture the areas needed to be in focus.
The bigger grip makes the camera more comfortable to hold, ergonomic handle.
Quicker autofocus and greater iso range.
