If you're looking at reviews, you may not be sure. Don't read any more reviews, go buy this camera now! it is awesome. I previously had the 20D. I loved the 2OD but this camera blows it away. Takes wonderful, crisp pictures and fits all past EOS lenses.

I was holding out on buying this camera for the 6d mark ii, however when I bought it I quickly realized that they are the same (with exception of being full frame). So I returned it and bought the 80d, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I read several reviews prior to purchase, so I kind of knew what I was getting. But, it's so much better. I got the body only to use my older Canon lenses and they work fine, but I want to now upgrade to newer quiter focus USM lenses for video. The touchscreen menu is super cool, and the iPhone Canon app to contral the camera remotely works great. Couldn't be happier.

Good feel, a bit heavy compared with T3i. Shift of program selector from right to left OK, but on-off switch seems flimsy. Joined with Tamron 18-400 lens easily, and first images good. Altogether satisfactory replacement for the T3i and its Canon predecessors.

Was thinking of changing camera brands. Looked long and hard at different brands. Had five different Canon lens from my Canon 30D. After reading about using lens adapters on other brands, decided to go with Canon 80D. Not very expensive, but feature rich. Very happy with purchase and the sales support from Best Buy

I updated my older canon 50D and wanted something with HD video and larger file sizes. I can use all my EF-L series lens and Canon accessories. Takes great still images and video. I can confidently recommend this camera if your looking solid platform that takes great photographs.

I have and still own the 20D, 40D, and two T5i and many canon EF & EFs lenses. The autofocus, megapixels, articulating screen, and speed of this camera is amazing. The video output is world class. If you are coming from the Canon Rebel series or just a novice, this camera is for you...

Camera does and excellent job, fast, accurate, lots of metering spots, nice capabilities. BUT Its an absolute pain for me to use NFC to communicate with my Samsung Edge S7. The NFC spot seems also to be on the other side of the camera from where the diagram indicates. I WASTE so much time transferring photos and my Nikon P 900 transfers immediately with no fanfare. I WOULD buy it again but I hate that that particular feature apparently stinks.

I bought this camera as a step up from a canon t5i, it's just great and while I'm still learning all it has to offer I'm more than happy with my purchase. It's heavier than the rebel, but lighter than the mark series which was a big part of my decision between those two.

The speed and detail on this camera is excellent. I am very pleased with it. We use it for documenting construction defects and it works in all lighting situations and from close up to far away shots.
