I upgraded from the 50D. I can honestly say the pictures are night and day difference. I can believe how fast this camera is and how awesome the pictures are. It is not the easiest camera to use I'm still learning. I highly recommend the Cannon 80D!!!!!!

Purchased this camera body to replace Rebel SL1. Stayed with Canon b/c of familiarity with features and the ability to reuse the lenses from SL1. The low light picture taking is fantastic with this camera. Took many pictures at Disney on rides that didn't allow flash and were very dark - they tuned out perfect. Not a fan of Nikon although most professionals utilize it. Very happy with this body.

I have owned a digital rebel, a 20D, 60D and now a 80D. It’s a great camera for my needs, I consider myself a serious amateur photographer. I like sports photography and candid street photography and it performs up to my expectations.

The Canon 80D essentially is a revamped & overhauled 70D with major improvements under the hood. The focusing system is clearly one of the major advances I've noticed during this first week of use, particularly with native Canon EF & EF-S lenses. In comparison with the previous model it simply feels all-around like a "revolution rather than an evolution" but I consider this to be its greatest asset- it perfected the 70D by addressing its major shortcomings. For those upgrading from an entry-level DSLR, or making that first step, the 80D is a very solid choice.

I stepped out of my 10 year old rebel into a great, sharp, fast, and capable 80D. Love the photographic capabilities and learning more about video as well. This is my stepping stone to my full pro camera and my future second camera.

Use this mostly for sports photography. This is my second one, my first got something on shutter and they couldn't fix, so they replaced. The colors are vibrant and detail crisp love this camera

I'm upgrading from a Canon rebel. Overall many new features from my old camera. I was still able to use my canon L lens. I do miss it nothing having a 4K video mode but hope Canon is taking notes.

Having owned an original Canon Rebel DSLR for close to 10 years, it was time to upgrade the camera body. Looking for both still and video capabilities, with the objective of taking only one camera during my travels, the new Canon DSLRs made the most sense. But which one? One requirement was a headphone jack, allowing monitoring the quality of audio in customer interviews. Full automatic and manual shooting too. After much research the 80D seemed like the perfect fit and has shown to be a great choice. Only one shortcoming - the small APS-C image sensor. I just wish there was a full-frame version with all the other features in the same price range.
