Upon purchasing this item i did do a bunch of research on it as most people should do before making their decision. I had the previous model, which is the Canon EOS 70D. Major upgrades have been made to the newer model from the mega pixels, a mic jack and also canon first camera to offer 60 fps with full 1080p resolution. They also included a duel pixel cmos sensor which is outstanding and a big leap in autofocus points for the camera which in my opinion is great for live and viewfinder shooting. This is an outstanding camera all around and top of its class for video recording for amateur and professionals! The camera is comfortable in hand and easy to learn if you are a beginner and carries its classic canon settings which previous canon users are all familiar with. For the asking price of the camera compared to the other higher end models and even its previous model before. This is a MUST BUY!

I have been looking at this camera for a while now and finally decided to make the upgrade. And I am so glad I did! It took a little bit of time to get used to the camera itself but I absolutely love it! The shots I am able to get using this camera are amazing. The Price was perfect at the time of purchase so that was a bonus. I highly recommend this camera!

I've been a Canon user ever since my first SLR, a Canon A1. the EOS 80D has exceeded my expectations. I'm afraid it's going to take me a while to master all this camera can do. The 18-135 mm lens is a fast focusing demon. A 7 fps drive in high speed shutter the 45 point auto-focus, wifi including remote shutter, and many more functions than can be covered here. Add a BG-E14 grip and get much longer shooting and flexibly. I had been looking at replacing my Xsi and when Canon made the release, I pre-ordered and got it the day of official release. Get a large 64gig minimum SDXC with at least USH-1 because these are large file when saving both RAW and jog files, 30-35 meg.

Concerning the 80D, the AF is spot on, fast and tack sharp. The improvements to the WiFi over the 70D, the head phone jack, the streamlined menu system, the ability to shoot 1080p @60 fps, the articulating touch screen, the 100% view finder and the ability to shoot slow motion are just a few of the highlights that make this camera a real winner for video and for stills.

Cannon really delivers on this on! The picture quality is wonderful in 1080p. There are many options and setting on it; but easy to handle aswell. I got a steal of a deal @bestbuy.

My husband absolutely loves it. This is his first Canon and first DSLR camera. He has learned to use it already by reading manual and watching videos. He has not put it down.

I was questionable about the price on if I should buy this or go something cheaper just to have a camera - this is by far the best I've ever seen. I had an old Canon AE1 Program, been using my phone for the last 5 years. This just blows me away and it comes with wifi to sync with my phone to send anywhere! Simply great!!

The auto focus and head phone upgrades make this far Beyer than a 70D. It's great for video and the lens is awesome for a kit lens. It's awesome as a purchased lens. This is good for anyone who wants sharp video and photos and a flip out touch screen. This equals some pro cameras with the built in menu being much easier to touch through on the screen.

I love this camera. I have had some mirrorless cameras, 20d, and a 7d, those were all great but Im really happy with this camera now. Its features are great, it feels good in the hands, the battery lasts a long time, the pictures are great, the menus are easy to navigate, the modes are easy to switch quickly and make adjustments.

I switched from Nikon to Canon and the 80D was the best all around choice for me. My budget was limited due to the fact that I was switching brands and would need to purchase lenses as well. Which is also the reason for buying the kit with the 18-135mm zoom. I use the camera for both photography and videography and the features from this camera made it an easy decision. I shoot architecture full time and the images look great and I can tell a noticeable difference from my old Nikon. I also looked into buying the 6D Mark II and although it was a full frame camera, the video features were lacking compared to the 80D. I wish I had the option for 4k but it definitely does the job for what I need. All that and the fact that switching brands was not even an issue, is the reason I bought and love this camera. Very easy to use and I would definitely recommend the 80D for anyone beginner to pro!

Very happy with this purchase. It’s a nice step up from my Canon Rebel T3i. Really like the touch screen, and the WiFi setting. It’s great to have the ability to upload photos to my phone when I don’t have another method of getting photos off the card. Picture quality it great.

I purchased this camera for my girlfriend who was shooting on a dated Canon EOS Rebel T2i. She was in need of an upgrade now that she started to do photo shoots with our kids and others. Photography is a true passion of hers and I wanted to support her improving the quality of the product she put out. I researched this purchase for weeks before deciding on the 80D. I read the pros and cons of making the jump to full frame, Canon vs. Nikon (I currently shoot Nikon) and I read many reviews. I ultimately selected the 80D for multiple reasons: 1) The quality of the camera and it's features at this price point was unbeatable, 2) The 18-135mm lens offers flexibility, 3) The rotating flip out LCD screen, 4) The size & weight (My girlfriend is a dental hygentist, her hands often bother her so the weight, while more than her previous camera was less than that of the full frame models I was looking at, 6) It's a Canon, and Canon makes great cameras (nothing against Nikon, as mentioned above I still currently shoot with a Nikon, although I'm switching to Canon so we are on the same lens platform) Overall, this is a great camera! I have not spent that much time with it yet, so I can't review on specific functions other than the Wi-Fi capability that we absolutely love. I can say with 100% certainty that I'm buying the 80D with Video Creation Kit very soon!! This is a great camera at the price point. I highly recommend buying this camera if you are looking to step up your photo game!

I previously owned the 70D with the 18-135mm lens. I used this camera mainly while traveling. My grandson needed a good camera for his photography class in high school, so I gave it to him. I than treated myself and purchased the 80D, its an upgrade from the 70D. I'm still learning how to use this camera, with my grandson as the instructor. It has everything a novice user needs.
