I love Canon. I used a T3i with a 10-18 f/3.5-5.6, a 50 f/1.8 and the 18-55 kit lens. When my son knocked it out of my hand and broke my 4 year old T3i, it was time for an upgrade.
I had the opportunity to use the 80D, which has improved autofocus (but not that much more than the 70D), marginal dynamic range improvement, and the head phone jack for audio monitoring, and 1080 at 60fps, but it just didn't feel like the upgrade I wanted quality wise for the picture. It felt soft at 1080p (which could be a result of the crop lenses that I used), so I wanted to look for better video quality as my purpose was to use it for videos as well as photos!
I used the new 18-135 Nano USM, and at ~$1700, it was just awesome to use.
But that same money, I ended up going with the a6300 with the 16-50mm kit, 35mm f/1.8, and the 18-105mm f/4.
Better low light performance, just as awesome continuous autofocus, 11 fps when it comes to sports shooting, crop sensor, but also with 4K video.
Canon is protecting its higher end line by not incorporating 4K, something that other companies like Panasonic, Fuji, and Sony are giving to consumers.
I still keep my lenses and hope that the next Canon in this class will feature 4K. I'll happily go back and have 2 cameras that can do 4K.

I have three Canons; a Powershot, a Vixia camcorder and now the 80D. The 80D does it all. I'm just beginning to get a handle on all the things it can do.

Needed a camera to replace full-frame 5D with comparable file size for high ISO photography. 80D exceeds all my expectations and the 18-135mm lens performs better than hoped. Images are sharp with good contrast and the live-view feature makes composing easier. 80D does hunt for focus sometimes but responds quickly to manual focus tweaks. Have yet to try it with higher quality or prime lens but expect it everything to sync. I would rather have power switch on right so it can used with right hand, but getting used to strange placement. The 80D brings back the joy of photography again because it is lighter than the 5D with a big 2.8 Tamron zoom.

The video and stills are great. This is definetly the best apsc canon out there. I liked the touch to focus for the video over the sony A6300. There is a lot more room to edit the raw files in this over the previous 70d. I think it could use a joystick the change focus points but thats about it. Also 4k would have been great.

The Canon 80D is a great camera for vlogging and making just about any type of video. The automatic features makes this camera easy to use, basically point and shoot. The lens is decent, I would recommend upgrading to a wide angle for vlogs.

I've had this camera for a couple months and I feel like I'm really getting familiar with it now. I've had dslrs in the past, but never a Canon. This is my first and I wish I would've gotten it sooner! I absolutely love it! It is perfect for an enthusiast/amateur like myself. The menu was easy enough for me to figure out without even opening my owner's manual. Focuses quickly and my pictures are crisp. Treat yourself to a Canon 50mm f1.4 and you will be good to go!

Clear pictures with the lens kit 18 to 135 mm. The weight needed a little getting used to but the upgrade from my old camera is worth it!
