I bought the Canon 80d as an upgrade from a Rebel T2i and I'm glad I did. I primarily take cattle sale photos so I need a camera that can capture small details like hair and this camera delivered. The camera is easy to learn and easy to operate. Would recommend to anyone want a good camera for under a $1000 I would look at the 80d.

Camera is great, a bit heavy. Filming on it isn’t perfect, maximum quality is 1080p resolution. The build of the camera is very strong and weather sealed. Wireless connection, like WiFi and Bluetooth, is okay but a bit difficult to use.

I photograph birds, mainly hummingbirds as a hobby. Traded up from a EOS T5 body. Using my 75-300 IS USM lens... what a difference in picture quality at a distance!! Easy to learn, handle, use, slight learning curve but after an afternoon shooting got the basics down. Very happy with Canon quality and very, very happy with Best Buy service. I had purchased a 70D last month and used it only a couple days when I read about the newer 80D version. Thankfully I had all packaging and Best Buy was easy to work with on the return and subsequent pre-order of the 80-D. It shipped to my door and I was using it the second the battery charged! Love it!!

Well crafted camera with most of the bells and whistles the full frame cameras have. I wish this would be able to record 4K, besides that the camera is able to work in automatic mode for beginners and allows great customization for experienced photographers. I've been very pleased with the results. I really enjoy the live view feature. very responsive cameras when taking pictures with multiple shots.

This is our second Canon digital SLR and while we loved the old camera, this is a huge upgrade. The image stabilization alone, allows for better pictures across the board. Our old camera didn't allow you to see your pictures being taken on the LCD, but only through the viewfinder. The combination of that and screen being touch is also huge for photo composition. Being able to change exposure on the touch screen has allowed us to capture photos we wouldn't have been able to with our past cameras. The built-in wi-fi is great as well for sending photos from camera to phone on car rides home -- saves some time processing, as well as gives the ability to share high quality photos to social networks in a timely fashion. The camera is quality all around, and I was a little apprehensive in paying as much as we did, but no regrets after a couple of trips and events with this camera.

A great camera for those who want control over their pictures. I am just starting photography but believe in the saying you get what you pay for. I bypassed the entry level cameras and jump into pro consumer class, knowing it has the features I need to control the pictures I take. That said, with all the reviews out there, the canon 80d has everything one would need to learn how to take great pictures without breaking the bank. This is my first step, and moving forward, will invest in good to great canon lenses. For starters, upgrade the starter lens for a prime, lens. And if the ergonomics don't fit, install a battery grip. The one for the 70d fits. Even for starters, the pictures taken with just setting it to auto are awesome! And don't compare photos with it against an iPhone , it ain't even close. Comparing it to a Nikon, Pentax or Sony aps-c equivalent DSLR would be an even playing ground. I personally like the pictures taken from the 80d versus Nikon d7200. For my eyes, the color and body of the images taken from the 80d has more color rendition and depth. This is just my personal opinion and I have no test to validate it. Just what i see from my Mac. , by the way, I compare photos in raw mode

The Canon 80d camera has been around for three years and has been popular for all types of still and video shooters. The recent release of the 90d, has created some great discounts on the 80d model. If you don’t need 4 K or the Digic 8 processor, the 80d will serve you well. All in all the 80d is an easy camera for the whole family to learn and use. Our main use is portraits and sports. Add a grip and long lenses and you are ready for sports.

I upgraded to the 80d from a Rebel T3i. The 80d is a made in Japan camera vs the Rebel made in Malaysia. The 80d feels sturdier, and the area on the back where your thumb fits feels better in my hands. The 80d is a 24 mega pixel camera so you get very high quality pictures. I was able to get the EOS 80d on sale at my local Best Buy for $899 with the 18-55mm kit lens. I have since purchased other lenses for this camera, one being the Canon ef 50mm f 1.8. The 80d also has the swivel screen that can be flipped out as well as rotated back on the camera body.Another feature that I like on the Canon 80d is the touch screen. You can perform functions such as ISO, Aperture and shutter speed to name a few, right from the touch screen without going into the camera menu. This is a nice feature if you are shooting in manual mode. Less time fumbling through menus means more time to focus on the subject. For a list of all the features the 80d has to offer refer to the product info on Best Buys site as there are too many to list in this review. Many of the features of the 80d are similar to those of the Rebel series cameras, so if you're thinking of upgrading there's not much of a learning curve. If you're like me and considering upgrading from an earlier Rebel series camera, I think the Canon 80d is a great choice. It gives you an updated, quality Japan builtCanon at an affordable price point. Hard to go wrong with that.

Love the 80d. This thing is a tank. Stepped up from a nikon d5100 and didn't turn back. Some of the best features I love include: --touch screen --tons of focus points --insanely robust build quality

I LOVEEEEEE this camera. I had a Nikon that was really easy to use and after about a year of using that I wanted something more challenging and professional. I bought this camera and I'm so in love with it. The quality of pictures that it takes, the way the display will turn around so you don't scratch it in your bag, it feels good to hold and it's just a gorgeous camera. Another cool thing about this camera is that once you take a picture you can set up wifi and bluetooth and send the pictures straight to your phone.

I have owned several Canon cameras in my life, and everyone has been a SLR. I have finally changed to my first DSLR the Canon 80D, I should have purchased one much earlier. I am very happy with my New Canon Camera, I have found that it is easy to use and fits comfortably in my big hands, with a touch screen that makes it easy to adjust any of my settings. Thanks again Canon for making a great product!

I upgraded from the Canon 10D which was my first digital camera many years ago. This is a stunning camera, and it will take me a long time to get through the users' manual and try out all the bells and whistles. It is however, very simple to do the quick start and get beautiful pictures right away.

This is my first dslr that I have purchased, and for me being a beginner it works great. It's easy to understand and the picture quality is good. The lens however is not as high quality as I imagined, but I will be swapping the lens soon enough. Other than that, I really enjoy taking pictures with this camera.

I absolutely LOVE this camera. It’s been my dream camera for years and I was finally able to get it! I’m not sure if it’s great for beginners, but I already knew how to work this type of camera from yearbook. Not so surprisingly, reading the whole manual actually helps you tremendously.

If you want a semi-pro DSLR, buy this. The 90D is our but this is JUST AS GOOD for a lesser price. It is an excellent camera. Just pair it with the right lens and you’re set.
