I tried the Sony AX100 and found it heavy and clumsy so I looked for a more conventional camera with video and still capabilities. The Canon M50 gave me both with a perfect camera size and video / still pictures that are excellent. I have already recommended this to a couple of friends. Mine came with 2 lenses as well.

Great small camera. Only downsides are low light image quality and lack of native lenses.

I bought this camera for a trip to South Africa back in August. I wanted a camera that was small enough to carry in a small backpack or tote and not be so bulky. I also got the Canon - EF-M18-150mm lens. but I'll review that under that product.
Anyhoo the camera itself is great! I love all the features especially the viewing screen. And with the lens it was a dynamic duo. the camera is not heavy and so easy to use. I wanted a camera to take pictures b/c we were going on a safari and I didn't want to rely on my cell phone, so I figured it was time to get and "adult" camera.
I am by NO WAY a camera expert all I know is for what I wanted, it performed. It has the wireless feature to load up to my phone or computer so I love that and you can take a selfie with this camera. I had a photographer look at my camera and he absolutely loved it and the fact that it was mirrorless. He even said my little camera was almost better than his big fancy canon camera, so that made me feel real good.
All in all if you are just getting into photography or you are a person that just wants a good camera for traveling/touring etc. then this is the camera I would recommend. I looked at Sony and some others and there was just no comparison. My friend had a Sony on the trip and she liked mine a lot better.
This camera also has a built in mount mechanism so that is you wanted to add an extra flash you can and you can also put it on a tripod. I also like Canon due to the fact that you can use so many different lens with canon b/c most of their lens are meant to be interchangeable, which is great cause you can keep bettering your skills w/o having to buy new cameras all the time.
I have had my camera for about 4 months and it is one of the best purchases/investment I think I could have made. So once again if you are looking for a starter camera I feel this one is the one for you in my opinion. And I would invest in the lens I purchased as well b/c that way you don't have to keep changing lenses at first. the one I listed above, b/c it does zoom and wide angle. If not then you have to buy 2 separate lenses which was offered in a deal when I bought mine, but opted to just buy a better lens so I wouldn't have to keep changing lenses.
I hope this helps. Thanks for reading!
