First off i will say i am not a Professional Photographer but i do Have Knowledge of Specs and i am using the M50 for Indoor shooting in Harsh Lighting that Tends to wash out my cell phone Quality.
I recently purchased the Canon G7X Mark ii and in the Short Few Days i was able to use it i Liked it alot, but on the Day the Canon M50 Mirrorless Came out i went into my local Best buy to check it out,it was limited quantity and not on display i asked to see what it looked like and read up on all the specs i knew i wanted it, so i Exchanged my G7X for the M50,for the Extra money that i put toward the M50 i was able to get some Cool Features Software and Hardware Wise. I love the Fact that i have options now for Other Lenses, the stock Lense with IS works Great. Auto Focus with more Points is also a Plus. The Body of the Camera with out the Lense feels a bit plastic and i was concerned at first unboxing even compared to the way the G7X tough Build felt but as soon as i put the M50 Lense on it didn't matter as much and also helps in Making this Camera Compact and lightweight. In Hands the M50 Feels Very Comfortable in my Opinion. I know there are Complaints about th 4K Crop but i did not care and would much rather shoot in 1080p and have no use for 4K. I Purchased this Camera for Quality Photos and Ease of Transfering to Smartphone to Social Media and It does exactly that with the Canon Connect app and the new Auto Transfer Feature is Pretty cool. The Photo Quality is Crisp and Vibrant and some Great Features such as Background Blurring, built in Filters etc... One Great Hardware Feature is Having the Hi resolution EVF (ElectronicViewFinder) it's Beautiful and fluid to work with and an Awesome Feature for Bright days when the LCD can Give some Glare. I could go on about other cool Features but i will conclude with this, for the Price i know you can get a Full Size DSLR but if you're looking for Compactbuild,QualityPhotos,GreatVideos, interchangable Lenses, and all around Fun to Use Camera You won't Be disappointed i know im Definitely not and i made the Right choice.

My favorite camera to use at this moment!

So this may not be the absolutly best specs on a camera, but its a bit cheaper then some of the other mirrorless out there at the moment. But this isn't all about the specs for me, its very easy to use and just pick up and go but still has the options to adjust and change what you need.
- size and form - This is probably smaller then some of you may want but if your looking for something small and the still feels sturdy. I like this camera and I wish they made a battery grip for it. Now this fits my hands good and will be going every where I can take it which is a lot because its much smaller then others I have.
- features - The flip screen is a full touch screen and it works great, this cameras screen is sensitive and works when you touch to focus or select in the menus. Auto focus works great I never really worry about it finding my face or not being in focus and if I want to check the screen flips out to adjust from all sides! I think there are some that won't like the menus and button layout but for the quick little shooter I wanted the auto select knob for present makes it very fast and easy to not search around for things on screen, then in each of those there are very easy on screen menus that pop up with out having to leave the screen your looking at the photo or video with. Now there is some custom feature and great shooting modes like RAW + jpeg and its got wifi and bluetooth, that will link to my phone for cool viewing through your cell phone to use the camera even if your not beside it. This comes in very handy and makes things like taking a quick review photo moving it to my phone or laptop , editing it then posting or using that photo where ever I need it.
- lens selection- this is where the camera with this m mount miss out a little bit and I wish they made a lot more native lenses for this camera, but it doesn't get knocked down because you can get an adapter and use your other EF and EF-s lenses. So that gives it a great selection to choose from and even the EF-M lens are pretty good that I have tried so far and keep it small and light weight!
- battery life- I might get on here and say the full amount by the shot or hour it does but I haven't had time to test it so far and I just got an extra battery and I don't have problems with it dying very fast. Along with that these are also small and easy to take so you can just throw your extra in any pocket on your bag or back pack and it should fit.
- Photo and video - Im not going to get technical with this because its just a review for people looking to buy and if you want specs and things go to you tube. But this camera to me takes great video right out of the box even with the kit lens. On top of taking great video the photos are really good as well and it does much better in low light then I thought it would! But I'm pretty sure its got the Digic 8 processor which is a bit newer then some out right now so that probably helps. The photos have been pretty easy to use and edit along with being able to set the video the way you want it on the camera most the time and not having to edit in post much to get it looking good.
One bad but doesn't matter to me the 4k has not got the same auto focus as the 1080 but it still has some type of focus, but it still works and I think some would be happy with this all I can say is the colors looked good when I tried it. But I would test this out for your self and for me right now the 4k takes up way to much space and the 1080 looks great with this little thing to me.
Now for pros I can't say get it for sure but I wouldn't over look it just because of others saying bad things about the 4k or something sill because its so easy to use and fun on top off that and last but most important of all it has a great price I think most people can afford and will make me feel much safer with being rough on it because I know the body of the camera doesn't cost crazy amounts to replace!
Either way I like it and would recommend you guys at least check it out and it would be a good back up and travel camera as well.
** by the way those photos I put with it my not be the best but I was just showing how it does in low light with the enjoy photo, and with the detail on that out side shot with no filter**

I spent 3-4 months reviewing, listening to reviews, and talking to people, who own this camera.
Well, I pulled the trigger yesterday, as an addition to my Canon family. I have the 70D, 80D and now the M50.
This little guy is a midget 80D, for the most part, and then you add 4K Video and also the Time-Lapse Movie.
It is easy to setup, the IQ is awesome, on a par with my other 2-bodies.
It feels very good in my hands, and is solid build, for use as a travel camera.
I also bought the COMMLITE ADAPTER for EF to M for I have about 7 other lenses that will work now.
The menu's are very similar to the larger DSLR's by Canon.
I do not believe that the battery is as bad as people say, but I also purchased 2 for backups.
Video is excellent, 1080P at 60 fps or 720P at 120 fps. I have not checked 4K, as I have no need at this time, but I am sure that a 10-18 mm lens will solve the cropping problem. Overall, this is a monster of a small camera, and I believe that if you try it, you'll like it also.

After watching many a YouTube video in trying to find the best, yet most affordable camera for my own social media needs, I kept dreaming of the Canon M50 over the last year. I decided that the day it came down to $500 I would buy it - and it happened! That's one great thing about this camera - its very affordable. Two it's really, even for a guy who doesn't know much about mirrorless camera and how to operate them, my YouTube friends came through for me (and still come through) and I have found this camera pretty user friendly. I note it takes great videos (what I use for my YouTube channel) and photos. It's autofocus is a lifesaver! I will say that the only negative is the battery life on this camera. You will have to charge it up often or make sure you have an extra batter or two around - and charged up. A great camera for the money - it has a ton of uses. I'd buy it again!

I jumped the gun on this one with the MKii being announced shortly after. I have zero regrets! It’s an awesome entry level camera for photography and video. I use it for photos so I won’t comment on video stuff but just look up other reviews on YouTube and you’ll see it’s a very well regarded vlogger camera.
Anyway, it’s built well, it’s compact and light, and best of all it’s takes some great photos! The included kit lens 15-45mm is really nice and produces some great shots. There are tons of settings you can tweak on the camera and the touchscreen is fully functional, not like some others that let you tap only certain things. I absolutely love it and have a lot of fun taking photos with it. In fact it has impressed some friends who shoot with more expensive gear with what it’s capable of.
My gripes with it are the tiny batteries it uses and how expensive they are. If you’re going to shoot around the city or take it on a day trip the battery will probably get you through the day. I took it out for a solid 5-6 hours, ended up with about 300 shots in RAW+JPEG and the battery held up perfectly. However...if you start using flash, then plan on it draining significantly faster. A spare costs $55 for the official Canon battery and while there are cheaper alternatives, I specifically am not comfortable buying a third party battery. I would definitely suggest getting at least one spare right off the bat.
The second thing is it uses EF-M lenses which there aren’t many of. They’re all excellent for the most part but they cannot be adapted to other Canon cameras that use an EF/EF-S mount. However adapting EF/EF-S lenses to this camera IS possible and opens many doors to Canons vast selection of lenses. You do need a rather pricey Canon adapter or a cheaper third party adapter though.
If you’re buying this as an entry level camera you won’t be disappointed. Especially if you get an adapter to use other lenses from Canon. That’s the route I took instead of buying EF-M lenses which will be phased out. Plus if you go full frame in the future you can use your adapted lenses instead of wondering what to do with the EF-M ones. The only advantage I see with EF-M lenses is that they are much smaller than the EF/EF-S mount ones and can save you some weight.
Overall, great buy, would recommend!

PROS: This camera is PERFECT for beginners. the settings are simple, the sound quality is AMAZING I haven’t even purchased a mic yet & the picture quality is just as good as an iPhone or BETTER. I’m not a tech person but I know they put thought into this camera for beginners. You get all the cool features just by a touch of a button and then you have manual where you can adjust things yourself and even manual is simple! I was a bit intimidated to try manual but I’ve been learning cool tricks for this camera on YouTube and I love it now !
CONS: The battery life Sucks! It’s not the worst but it could deff Could be better. it espcially sucks when you do video and you can only shoot a 30min video before it stops and you have to hit record again. So if your trying to get cinematic shots and you record a quick clip here and there, then the battery will die faster, but if you record all the way through say like a vlog, or something of you just sitting and talking then the battery life lasts a bit longer.
ALSO! the other con is if you shoot a 30min video and you try to send it to your phone through canon app, then it won’t work it will say “insufficient storage” & I deleted almost EVERYTHING on my phone idk if it just happened to me but in my experience it only let me send 10min videos to my phone through the app, so I had to get an iPad. Just a heads up:)

Canon - EOS M50 Mirrorless Camera

I purchased this camera as a replacement to my Canon - EOS M3 Mirrorless camera, which had to be returned due to factory defect. I loved that camera too; so, I was really sad to let it go. However, I turned my frown upside down and purchased this model above it. I knew in whatever decision I made, the replacement needed to have a few more capabilities that the M3 didn't have. And luckily, the M50 fit the bill.
The selling point was a full, well, vari-angle (rotational) touchscreen - the M3 only had limited moveability with the touchscreen. Another selling point was the viewfinder. Honestly, it was the MAIN reason why I purchased this camera because as an original user of the Nikon D70s, I am fairly old fashioned when it comes to shooting. I love a good viewfinder but I also love to have the capability to shoot using the screen. So, I appreciated that the M50 had this feature. And lastly, it has the ability to record/shoot in 4K. Those 3 features alone had me SOLD.
It's only been a couple of months, and though I am still learning my way around the camera, I am very pleased. It is easy to use (even has the option to turn on and off tips). It shoots clearly. Has the ability to use traditional canon lenses with the addition of an adapter. I'll really get to test out its muscle power on my upcoming trip to Puerto Rico and see how well the battery life fairs because I did read reviews that the battery life is not as strong as it is in other models. So, while I am abroad, I'll see how well it fairs. Outside of that, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend this model to anyone looking for something lighter and smaller but with full capabilities of a traditional DSLR. It's also a great camera for beginners dabbling in the art of photography but wants something a bit more powerful than a normal point and shoot camera.

I wanted to start a Youtube Channel and needed a camera so I started doing research and found this one. The screen can flip to selfie mode which is what I wanted from a camera. It’s lightweight and convenient to film with. It’s pretty easy to understand what button does what. I’ve also always wanted a camera to take better pictures than what a phone can do, and this camera does just that. I‘ve has this camera for almost two months now and I am loving this camera so far! So versatile! I really recommend!

Best Buy usually delivers high quality and matches the best market prices for its new products, and they delivered again.
This camera is probably the best I could find in its price point for what it offers- which is a lot. I am not the one to truly review cameras, as I am pretty new to high quality ones, but everything I was looking for, this camera offers.
The picture quality is amazing and the ease of use is top notch- I had no idea what I was doing and still managed to never screw up. I did read some info on how to operate it, and if you are new to this camera, I would recommend the same.
This camera also allows multiple different sized lenses and even different types of lenses with an attachment. It also can produce great video quality for shorter, on the spot videos.
As far as price, this camera wins in most apples to apples comparisons, but similar styles that offer less are much cheaper. There are alternatives that are a similar style to this brand for much cheaper on the market, and I should mention that, but this camera delivers extra features for its higher price, making it worth the investment.
All in all, this camera is the best in its class as far as features and quality, and only gets beaten in price. I should say "beaten in price" with a catch, as the extra features and quality make this camera a better true value.
There is no need to attach a photo as what I got out of the box matched what is shown by Best Buy as far as items and quality.

This is an awesome camera for amateurs with the option to add some nice lenses and perhaps using it as a more professional camera. I haven’t had any issues with it so far and I love how easy and intuitive it is to use. Being able to extend and flip the screen is a big plus. Very compact size and very nice picture and video quality in my opinion. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great camera without having to spend too much money.

Overall I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a light weight camera and still wanting to pack the punch of a DSLR - it’s definitely a little camera that does big things.
One note - if you are using this for the 4K video - look elsewhere as this doesn’t shoot 4k as well as other cameras on the market.
The strength of this camera is its size, cost and the ability to take great pictures. It’s a great starter DSLR as well as priced just right. Better than the SL2 and since it’s mirrorless if you have other Canon lens - I would say buy the adapter.
If you are good with shooting in 1080p - this camera will work great for those that want to get into vlogging. Regardless of if you want to take pics or shoot video this is great camera.

Overall great camera and is highly capable of taking some stunning photos and videos.
Pros:
-It is small, compact, light, very portable
-Awesome picture and video quality
-Hass lots more useful features.
-Single shot at 10fps and Servo at 7.5 fps
-720p slow motion at 120fps
-Time-lapse video mode
-The dual pixel autofocus
-canon's colour science is also highly commendable
-with a lens adaptor, it can be equipped with Canon's EF and EF-S lenses.
Cons:
-Rolling shutter, lack of Dual Pixel Autofocus, and excessive crop factor in 4k
-Max shutter speed is only up to 1/4000s
-Doesn't have an extra dial or buttons to customise more shortcuts
-No 1080p slow motion at 120 fps
-Battery performance is poor (but is expected in most Mirrorless DSLSs)
-Have to spend extra cash to buy a lens adaptor
