After doing extensive research on mirrorless cameras, the Canon M50 stood out as being the best bang for your buck and also the easiest to use. After having the camera for about 1 month, I have found that the camera is not only a terrific camera with great video and picture quality, but it is also incredibly easy to navigate the menus and to customize settings. I definitely got my money's worth out of this little beast of a camera. With the money I saved on the camera itself, I was able to invest in a couple of different lenses and accessories (microphone, gimbal, ND filter, etc.) that allow me to get even more out of this camera. Side note: I am only a hobbyist videographer and mainly use this camera for high quality family home videos.

I love the quality of this camera. I previously owned a Nikon D5100 and the photos from this camera are even better. I also love how small and light this model is. It makes traveling with a camera much more enjoyable.

This camera is very light weight, yet has a lot features. It takes great pictures, very sharp! The screen is big enough, and shows clear images with true color. I am going to take it with me in my next trip. Love it.

This camera has been nothing but great, simple enough to use for those who are beginners but still good enough for advanced photographers. The quality is great and I love how light the camera is.

It is so light it floats. Maybe not in water, but in my hands. It has good action, the settings are generally easy to adjust. The lens it came with des good general photos, but I would like a compatible zoom lens for wildlife shots. It focuses more easily than my old Canon Sure Shot.

It's a shame that the 4k is not auto focusing. But it's a great camera. It's pretty simple to use and it's a good beginner camera. I take mine on every trip and I have captured some pretty nice pics.

I love this camera but the zoom doesn’t zoom far and the battery doesn’t even last a day if you are out using it for a day hike. Very inconvenient when you’re on vacation. Pictures are amazing and the camera seems very easy to use.

I bought this exclusively for Youtube videos. I originally shoot with a Nikon D850 and am very comfortable with DSLR's of the professional kind. I do want to mention that this camera has a 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor which means it is a cropped sensor. The fact that this is mirror-less means it is amazing for videos. Mirror-less cameras are made to be smaller and lighter and generally better for video. The facts that the camera has Canon's amazing DPAF (Dual Pixel Auto-Focus), makes this great for focusing on faces blazing fast. This camera albeit small and compact, has some downfalls. My review is solely based on my experience with editing videos and pictures. I usually like to shoot 4K since I do a lot of nature shoots, I want to give this an honest review. First and foremost, it has a pretty great stabilizer for walking and filming. Shooting at 1080p 60 fps, you can get some nice smooth slow motion shots when edited in post. The lens that it comes with is a 15-45 mm which is not the best in my opinion for photography or videos, it is a great introductory camera for any beginner to enjoy and the ease of use makes it that much better. Now for the 4k video, it does have a crop factor and only shoots at 24 fps. 24 fps gives it a pretty nice cinematic look but the crop factor is what kind of ruins it. It has a 1.7x crop which means that you're gonna need a wide angle lens in order to get a bigger picture (Downside- This camera uses special lenses and there isn't a huge variety out there). The other downside is that at 4K, it loses the DPAF that I mentioned above. At 720p you can shoot up to 120fps which means SUPER SLOW MOTION... Which is awesome in my opinion. You do lose some resolution but anyone getting introduced into the DSLR world, this is the way to go. It isn't a 1DX Mark II, or a Sony Alpha 7R II, but you get what you pay for and get some great quality videos and pictures. I immediately took it off what I like to call "beginner mode" and start shooting in manual. But I perused beginner mode and it was very user friendly. I'd definitely look into this if you want to get into the awesome world of DSLR's. I know There's a lot of key points I missed but when I look at reviews what I mentioned above is what I mostly look for just to keep it short and sweet. I'm also not going to scrutinize it and compare it to a professional camera worth thousands of dollars. I knew what I was getting myself into so I'd definitely recommend this to a newcomer.

My wife and I researched extensively for a solid digital camera that we could rely on for images and video. The M50 was a consistent standout. We love the mirrorless design—it's such a smaller, lighterweight camera, yet with all the controls and features you'd expect from a modern digital camera. Especially loving the swivel screen—makes it so much easier to set up the camera for tricky shots without having to factor in body position. The different features and shooting options make lots of sense. We've been thrilled with the image quality, video quality, and ability to do live video as well. Awesome camera and a good value.

This camera does everything I intended to do with it and much more. It performs extremely well with video. I use this for my YouTube channel as well as shooting video for side projects. It's portability and ease of use for someone new to camera work makes it a perfect entry level mirrorless camera. The native lenses for this are limited but adapters exist which open up Canon's entire EF line which is the largest and most affordable group of lenses on the market today. The AutoFocus is stellar and perfect for beginners and run and gun video. I highly recommend this camera for beginner content creators and film makers.

Spent over three months trying to figure out the right camera to buy. All reviews, YouTube videos, and camera blogs pointed me to the M50. What a great choice, It is the perfect beginner camera and a great way to re-learn photography for me. The pictures are beautiful, the video is clean and sharp, the camera is sleek, and sturdy. It is also considerably less expensive than the professional cameras that easily cost over a thousand dollars. Do yourself a favor and get this camera. It is Amazonia.

This camera is everything I could have hoped for and more. For an introduction camera it is amazing. I also got the canon lens adapter allowing me to use my ef and ef-s lenses which it works wonders. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is either getting into photography and wants a good camera that is not overwhelming but has a good amount of features and to any videographer. Though it lacks IS in 4k, does not have 60fps in 4k or the amazing dual pixel auto focus in 4k this camera is exceptional with videos and cinematography. Plus MF should be used in video anyway but that's just me.
