Bought this camera & it worked amazing. I own a fashion company and shot my whole catalog with this camera & a canon Prime lens. The quality and durability of a camera this cheap rivals anything else you can buy on the market today.
I show my friends the camera we used and they are always in shock of the small size and big power that it has
I included actual photos i took with the camera!

I bought this camera for my kids to use in school, instead of them borrowing my full frame camera. We just came back from a month vacation and I ended up using the SL1 more than my 6d. It was lighter, took very nice pictures and with a ef 40mm pancake lens attached it didn't look like a dslr more like a big point and shoot.
For me the best feature is the touch screen on the back. It makes adjusting your settings way faster and easier compared to my 6D.

with a child on the way my wife wanted a "good camera".
i have a canon 5d mark iii and it is considerably larger and more complicated. i love it but she wanted something smaller and easier to use. i ended up going with this unit and it is fantastic. picture quality is great and it is very user friendly. she loves the size compared to my full size DSLR.

I like how it is small and light weight even with the lens on it. My favorite feature is the touch screen. It is also affordable.

purchased this camera as an upgrade for the video capability; I also own a Rebel xti. Been pleased with the ease of use, image and video quality. Size is good too; a little smaller than my xti, which is nice when you're traveling and wearing it a lot during the day.

I've been using my Canon Rebel T3i and I love it, but it's too bulky to carry around all the time. I love the SL1 for it's compact size and that it's lightweight. It's simplified and doesn't have all of the bells and whistles, but it takes high quality photos of similar quality and I'd rather carry this one any day of the week.

My first DSLR camera and I'm not disappointed. Easy to use, lightweight. Still need to figure out all the functions to use it properly, but even as a glorified point and shoot, my pictures turned out great.

Very pleased with the photos taken with this camera. I did purchase an additional flash because the internal one isn't powerful enough and can create odd shadows unless you are taking close ups.

I have a 7D as my main camera with several lenses. My son showed an intrest in photography, so I purchased the SL1 body only. It has turned out to be the camera we take most every where. I use my 7D when l go out with the intent to only take photos. Bottom line what a great second camera for those who already have camera equipment or easy to use starter camera. I LIKE IT.

I purchased this body as an upgrade to my original Digital Rebel purchased from Besy Buy in 2004. The features easily rival much more expensive models with the only exception being the shutter speed maxes out at 1/2000 rather than 1/4000. Certainly not worth paying twice the price for. It is also very light weight as well. If you plan to use it for movies you might consider purchasing it with the kit lens due to the speed of autofocus and noise. Overall it is a very good value for the money - dont let Canon's "entry level" label fool you.

I went back and forth about getting the SL1, but glad that I purchased it. I already own a T3i, but wanted something more portable and this does the trick. The pictures are crispy and in line with the T3i, but I've found myself using this more because it's easy to bring around. Definitely happy with the quality, but certainly doesn't have all the bells and whistles you might be seeking.

This is a great quality camera; super light and a great value. I took it to Africa for a photo safari. It accommodates all the Canon lenses that I had from a previous model. The pictures it took are excellent, and the camera was really easy to learn and use. Even the video came out great! Buy a big memory card and have some fun!
