I read a lot about this camera to gift it to my bother. Best thing I liked is the weight of camera. Best one for new photographers. I bought a 18-135 STM lens which worked fine for this camera.

Got this camera as a second camera and it has quickly become my #1 camera. Love the editing features built-in to the camera and live camera mode. Such good clarity in the images as well. Plus, it is super light, even with the 70-300 mm lens attached.

This is my third Canon Rebel. I wanted the same great quality but in a smaller size. Not only is this smaller, it is much better than my Rebel TI3.

I love this camera! I use it not only when my family is here but I sell real estate and I have been using it for the photos I take of my listings. It is a great camera and the quality of the photos is excellent. I worry about bad lighting in rooms where there is not enough light coming in from the outdoors or too much and it seems that the camera is able to work with both of these situations. I have owned other Canons and this is the best yet. You do need to read the owners manual though.

The sl1 manages to be easy to function and comfortable in my large hand even with its small size. I don't hit buttons unless I want to, and not the wrong button either. Great choice as an intro dslr for someone young perhaps.

I upgraded from an older Canon EOS xTi DSLR to the SL1 (body only), and have been pleased with the change. It is simpler to operate, lighter weight and smaller size, has improved focal clarity, and I can still use all of my existing Canon AF autofocus lenses and accessories. I'm looking forward to getting to know it even more in the coming months.

I bought this camera as a backup camera for my 60D and as a second to save constantly changing lenses while shooting nature shots. I like it so well it has become my primary camera over my 60D. This is the camera I grab when leaving the house. It exceeds the expectations I had when I made the purchase.

The SL1 offers some nice features for a good price. I bought this to be a carry around camera. It is lightweight and easy to carry but still has the options of a full sized model. After many years of Sony cameras I made the change to Canon. Their lenses are as good in quality as the Sony but much cheaper. Overall I like the camera, it will do what I want...
my only knock is Canon does not offer lightweight lenses to pair with the SL1

I wanted something smaller than my Canon 5D Mk III which was easier to carry when hiking or biking. This fits the bill. I can use all my lenses with it but normally have a Tamron 18-270 on it. I like the high ISO range so I can eliminate the need for using the pop-up flash in most situations.

I gave up my old 35mm cameras to transition to digital photography. I am very pleased that I bought my Cannon t5 Rebel body. I adapted my Cannon Rebel to all the lens I had previously. I have a Cannon T50 and a Cannon AE1. HAPPY

I wanted a camera that was light weight, a DSLR, interchangeable lens and take great photos......this does it all! I spent a lot of time researching cameras, when I came across the Canon sl1. At first, I thought a camera this small can't do all that, but it does! It is user friendly for beginners. It is great in low light situations. Love the versatility of using touch screen.Very fast shooting! I also didn't want to carry around a lot of lenses, so opted for the Tamron 18-270mm PZD, the all in one lens, to maintain low weight. I'm very pleased and look forward to many years 0f having fun with this little giant.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel SL1

This camera was a replacement for a Canon Digital Rebel 300D that required repair that would cost more than it was worth, so I bought this one at Best Buy after extensive research into its capabilities vs. other Canon digital SLR cameras. I found this one to have the most "bang for the buck" in terms of features and performance, as well as a price that wouldn't break the bank. So far I have been very pleased with my purchase. I will be using it extensively on my next vacation to the North Carolina mountains via the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I purchased this item to upgrade the megapixels from my previous camera. All of the Canon lenses that I already owned attach to it. Great solution for someone who just wants to upgrade to something newer and not start from scratch
