After much debate on what DSLR I would get for my Digital Photo class, I decided on this one. I couldn't be more pleased. It's easy to use, small and lightweight, and takes great photos. I think this is a wonderful first DSLR!

I bought this camera to replace my Sony Mega Zoom digital camera. I've had the Sony since 2007 and loved using it. We are expecting our first child in the next few weeks and thought it was time to upgrade to our first DSLR. We are NOT disappointed. Even without reading the manual, I was able to figure out how to use most of the features. The touch screen is great, the size is so small, yet works just like any of those other larger ones out there. The picture quality is great! I bought this along with the Rocketfish 58mm UV filter, and the extra 55-250 zoom lens. So happy! You will not be disappointed.

I have been looking for a DSLR camera for awhile now. I did my research and settled on the Canon EOS Rebel SL1. I also purchased the 50mm to 250mm lenses to go with it. I have been taking pictures of my kids soccer games and gymnastics meets. It takes great pictures and it is easy to navigate the different functions of the camera. Very happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to use camera that takes great pictures.

I got this as a present for my daughter and have had the chance to use it. Great Canon product with all of the usual Canon features (ease of use, versatility and quality of photos, etc.). It is a bit smaller than the usual DSLR so I would recommend this for folks with small hands or perhaps teenagers or someone who wants a lighter camera to grab and go.

This was a replacement purchase. It is much lighter, easier to handle, takes awesome pictures. All of my attachments that I purchased with another rebel about 6 years ago work on this camera. Very happy with the money I spent. I'm sure it has flaws but I haven't discovered any at this time. Owned this camera approximately five weeks. =)

We bought this camera the night before going on our week long Disney trip because we wanted better than iPhone pics. The night shots of parades and the kids were amazing. Even got great fireworks pics! The camera was super easy to use and the touch screen user interface made capturing priceless moments fun!

In looking for a good SLR camera that is easy to use, I choose the Cannon SLR Rebel 1. Although this camera has been out for a few years, several of my friends had recommended this one. The bundle comes with two very good interchanable lenses, a very nice case with lots of compartments, and a decent 32GB scan disk card. This has a very good viewfinder or large enough LED screen to preview and see your photos before and after taking the photo. The manual settings are very easy to use, but you can also make this camera as automatic as you wish. Just being a beginner, I am learning quickly how to set most of the settings manually and ending up with very high- quality photos.

I'm a fairly avid amateur photographer, and I own a few different cameras. My primary is a Nikon D800, which I dearly love. I also have a Nikon D5100, which I love a lot less. My first DSLR was a Nikon D50 that I bought in 2006. Back then, Nikon's DX cameras (the equivalent of the Canon EOS Rebel range) felt solid, because they were solid. Somewhere along the way, Nikon's "consumer" cameras started feeling cheap and plasticky. For a long time, I've felt I'm missing many great shots when I don't have my D800 with me, and I wanted a camera I could basically leave in my car that wouldn't take up much space. The SL1 fit the bill. I'm impressed with how this little camera feels in my hands. It doesn't have that cheap feel that the less expensive Nikons do, and the 18-55 kit lens feels more like Nikon's and Canon's high end glass than the Nikon equivalent. The focus motor is also nearly silent - an important consideration if you plan to use this to shoot video. I like it a lot. The ergonomics are great, and the image quality is no slouch either. My only complaint is I wish there was a bit less noise in high ISO shots, but for what I bought it for - a leave it in the car so I'm never far away from a decent camera when opportunity arises, I couldn't be happier.

My old Digital Rebel had been stolen years ago and I had never been able to replace it. Recently I needed a second HD video camera and this was a cheaper option plus it restored my ability to take great stills. The flash card I bought holds thousands of photos and over 80 minutes of video. Great updates to features I was already familiar with. Plus a jack for an external microphone.

I was looking for a first time DSLR camera to upgrade from an old point and shoot digi-cam. I did some shopping and asked my friend who is a professional sports photographer. This was my choice, for value and for its features. It's simple enough for a first timer, but advanced enough that you won't be looking at upgrading in another 6 months as you learn how to handle it.

I went into BB to seriously look at the Canon T5. I happily walked out with the SL1 after the knowledgeable salesperson pointed out that the SL1 had some great advantages over the T5 (higher rez screen-touch, shoots faster with better max light sensitivity, in-camera HDR, smaller AND less expensive). He also put together a comparable package, including a 55-250 telephoto lens, memory card and bag that met a competitors price. I followed his recommendation to upgrade the memory card to an ultra plus to maximize the video capabilities of this camera. I was pleased to discover that this camera not only has upgraded my photographs but has replaced my camcorder-2fer! I like the ability to be able to toggle between the lens viewer and the screen. As I haven't worked with a "manual" camera since college I am looking forward to relearning the art. Until then I am quite happy with the ease of the auto settings (expect a small learning curve for proper focus and moving through some of the optional settings). This camera was intuitive enough for my 12 year old to master quickly (in AF mode)-isn't that the way with the younger gen? The action photos of her softball games, taken with the telephoto lens and continuous shoot mode look fabulous. Very satisfied.

After having several "point and shoot" cameras, which take great pictures but can't hold up to a lot of picture taking, I decided on this camera. It is easy to use and fairly light in weight. I have only had it a month , but have already taken over 3000 pictures and am very pleased with the results. I have not used the Movie Mode yet so can't comment on that.

I am new to DLSR but the setup and use of the camera was very easy. I bought an energizer external flash and a Cannon fixed (prime) lens to go with the camera and all worked as designed. I have been using the auto picture setting and getting great portraits and closeups. I don't know as much about the technical details of this camera versus others but would recommend it based upon my limited knowledge and use.

This is my first dslr i purchased. I am a beginner and new to the whole process. I was looking at the t3i rebel. I choose this one because it was smaller for my hands and not heavy at all. I looked up what aperture and iso and all the features mean. very easy for a beginner to use. have had it for a little more than a month and i love it. would recommend this camera to anyone who is interested in photography. i gave it 4 stars because i don't know everything about the camera yet. my review is more based on its size and weight auto function.

Canon Rebels are great cameras. I have owned three. The first was a film camera and the second was one of the early digital versions. My new Rebel takes beautiful pictures that enlarge well, and it was easy to start using. I am looking forward to experimenting with more of the options and manual settings.

my family and I were looking for a more high quality camera for our business and personal use. I have been very familiar with the cannon rebel series, we were looking for something smaller, lighter and compact to be able to take with us on business trips, road trips, and mostly used for outdoors. Some qualities that particularly caught my eye was the touch screen LCD screen, and the video auto focus.

This is not the first camera I’ve ever used, but I must say it’s the one I’ve liked using best. It’s smaller and lighter than most cameras you come across, which makes it ideal for traveling. Awesome for beginners and intermediate photographers.

I am having so much fun learning to use this little dslr! It is very light and portable, intuitive to use in many ways, perfect for always having a dslr with me. I love the touch screen especially for reveiwing photos with a swipe, enlarging portions of images to check focus, and it operates intuitively also. Basically this little dslr has all the latest Canon technology ( equivalent to the T5i) at a much lower price. I love a smaller easier to carry around camera, and this one is that with all the quality of a larger dslr....except no tilt screen ( which I do NOT care about as these can break at the hinge).
