Great product.. easy to use and ready to take great pictures

The Canon SL1/100D has amazing resolution, more features than I will probably ever use, and a compact size that makes it easy to bring along. It's resolution is 18MP and it can do decent video as well. The lens that comes with it is an IS STM. IS means Image Stabilization, so that it should take less blurry pictures (though I cannot really tell how much it is helping) and STM means a quiet focusing motor which is supposed to prevent noise of autofocusing while taking video. I've been able to take some great action shots with the continuous shooting mode. I was a bit worried that it would be TOO small since my hands are large, but it turned out to be totally comfortable. You could use this to point and shoot, but it has a million or so possible choices to configure things - multiple focusing and metering modes, a variety of settings optimized for landscapes, portraits, action, etc., so it ends up being a fairly inexpensive camera for someone like me who wants to learn how to make better pictures by taking advantage of such settings.

I love how easy it is to work, and how sharp the pics are.

Easy to use, almost takes the picture itself. The only complaint would be that they had the white version on special and would not sell me the white one and still qualify for the discount on the accessory lens. They don't make the lens accessories in white like the camera is offered, just the standard lens that comes with it

I've been using this camera for several weeks. The pictures are great and the size is great. I'm just beginning so this camera has been a wonderful purchase.

I did a fair amount of research before purchasing. With help from a sales agent, i decided on this model as a midpoint for price and features, without sacrificing quality of pictures. The results were immediately obvious to me, a casual photographer. It actually makes taking pictures much more fun! With no study time you can take great pictures. With a little effort and reading about all of the features, you can unlock a whole new world of capabilities with this camera. I am very pleased with the purchase. Even the smaller body helps to encourage me to take it along without being too inconvenient.

I had wanted a better camera with more features than the camera I had for years.. This Canon EOS Rebel was perfect! With instructional CDs and booklets, I was able to clearly understand and navigate through the features much easier than what I thought it would have been. The pictures are clear and sharp!! I love it!!!

I've just recently gotten into photography as a hobby and was looking for a product that could help me get to where I wanted to go. I had heard wonderful things about Canon Rebels in general. I was not disappointed at all! I love this camera!

Love this camera!!! I wont use my other lenses b/c I can upload the pics on my computer and edit them, enhance, and crop. Love this feature!! Touch screen is so nice!! Have received comments from others who didn't know you can get a touch screen camera.

basic camera for a beginner or anyone who prefer a high end camera because this is easy of use and good in price (come with lens kit as well). I love the light weight and the small size of it.

I'm loving the camera, light weight, easy to use and takes great pictures for a beginner! I purchased the 55mm F 1.8 lense and the photos are great! Still learning how to use the features!

Whatever mode you select, the screen displays all of the settings that can be changed or adjusted in that mode and the screen is interactive so that the adjustment to each parameter or setting can be made quickly and easily. The camera has a number of automatic modes as well as the usual manual modes. The flexibility of this camera is outstanding. In addition it is relatively small and light weight. For pictures, it's exactly what I wanted. Video pictures are good but shutter sound ruins the sound track. I will need to add music to any videos.

This camera is very easy to use and has a lot of great features. It is light weight and a perfect size.

I was torn between the SL1 and the t4i. I chose the SL1 based on size and price. Cant be happier right now. I wanted a dslr but didnt want the giant body of the camera. The SL1 fit the bill perfect. The only option this doesnt have that the t4i has is the flip out screen (not that big of a deal). The pictures from this camera are nothing less then amazing. Always been a canon fan and this just enforces that. Im still learning all the setting but those that i have learned you can apply to almost anything. The kit lens that comes with this is a great starter but iv already found myself looking at some new ones. Highly recommend a polarized filter to go with this for lens protection but more for the quality of the image goes up. You will looks a few f stops with it, but for outdoor shots you cant beat it. Also be sure to get a good high speed card with this camera. Your capture speeds and burst speeds with be higher. The low light capture on this camera is great too. Cant wait to take this to functions, parks, pretty much anywhere. The ability to adjust the setting on this and get the picture how you want blows me away. If you want a dslr but not the large camera body this is the one for you.
