Solid performer at a price that won't bankrupt you

But I went into this with false expectations. What I thought I'd get is something that costs THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS more than this. That mistake was on me. Once I accepted that and really began to work with what this camera can do, I have been more than pleased with the results! Low light performance could stand to be better, but typical shots yield very crisp and detailed pictures even with just the two standard "kit lenses" that came with this package (I've since bought the $125 Canon 50mm f/1.8 prime lens too for portraits and low light). Just yesterday, I did an impromptu photoshoot at a nearby lake in some very heavy fog, and the results blew me away! For someone who is looking to enter the world of serious amateur photography that goes beyond smartphones or point-and-shoot, the Rebel T5 is perfect!

Great camera!

I use it because it is great for my yearbook students who only have experience with point and shoot cameras. They use auto controls and come up with great photos. We also use the recording ability of the camera for our online newspaper. This is the second camera we have purchased for our staff.

Great starter camera

I am still in learning mode and need to use it more but so far is a good buy and have the extra lens and carry bag with the purchase. It seems to take too long to take the pictures at times but that might be my inexperience in using it.
