just returned from east Africa safari . camera adapted to every situation which included sunrise, sunsets, action video of animals landscapes and portrait opportunities. although being a novice photographer my traveling companions were impressed with the quality of the photos plus the versatility of the camera to handle rapidly changing scenes, lighting environment, movement of subject or camera while filming from a moving vehicle. i am looking forward to further exploring this cameras potential.

I bought this as an upgrade to my T3i and have been very satisfied with it. It seems to have a lot more customization in the settings and the fact that it's touch screen is great. Even more so that the touch screen doesn't make it lack everywhere else.

I have used this camera now for over two weeks and I have no regrets buying it. I bought the T5i because of its video autofocus property (else I would have gone for the T3i), and the few videos I have taken look amazing when viewed on my Samsung LED TV. Picture quality is great even when used as a point and shoot (full auto mode-green rectangle); even my wife who has never used an SLR before is getting amazing pictures from the camera...a confirmation how easy the camera is to use

This camera is simply amazing! If you are not use to an slr camera, this one is easy to use on auto mode, just shoot and go. The picture quality is awesome and i would definitely recomend this package over the 18-55lens package because the lens is way better. Still needs a way to go on video but if you focus slowly the video comes out nice. So far the best video i've seen from a camera. Still think it was a little over priced, wait for it to go on sale, i'm sure it will be soon.

My family and I just got back from the country part of North Carolina where I took several pictures and they all came out unbelievable! I downloaded them on my computer and my wife was just as amazed as I was at the picture quality. The zoom is something you'll really like along with everything else the camera offers and it is very easy to use.

Have owned the T5i for almost a month now. First DSLR, but find in very easy to operate. Takes some time in the manual and with on-line tutorials, to gain a basic understanding of the capabilities, but that's to be expected - it's not a point and shoot camera. Although it does very well on the automatic setting. My first serious use was to take pictures and video of my granddaughter's high school graduation. Bought it for picture taking, but the video is awesome.

I've been a Canon EOS person for life and have some of the old lenses. I thought I would use the touch screen more than I do but I'm so used to navigating around through Canon menus that I forget to use it often. The camera is great for almost any still work. But YOU MUST UPGRADE PHOTOSHOP to get the .CR2 files to read. I don't like the concept of Adobe Creative Cloud so I have had add an extra step into my workflow to convert the CR2s to .dngs before color correcting in Photoshop CS5.5. The real star in this package though is the 18-135mm STM.It feels sturdy and is pretty darn sharp though the the sweet spot of the zoom. It is a must have for the semi-serious travel photographer. But always remember that a good camera and lens can only do 20% of the creative work. The other 80% is all composition, lighting and context.

This is my first experience with DSLR photography. I've owned many Canon cameras over the years and being familiar with their menu style enabled me to pick this up and take awesome pictures within minutes. Paired with a macro lens and remote shutter release, I am taking better pictures than ever before. The touch screen is a very nice addition too. All of the controls seem to be in very intuitive locations. I would definitely buy it again.

Going from a point and shoot camera, it is really incredible how great the picture quality is. It is just so much better in every respect. Faster focus, faster picture taking, higher quality and defined pictures. If you are considering a DSLR this one is great. Even has that touch screen which is in tune with all of today's smart phones gestures.

I don't think I needed the small incremental changes to later models. Plenty of megapixels for printing or viewing. I wanted the 18 - 135mm lens because I already have a Canon Rebel with two lenses. More advanced Digic Processor. Price point was great and I used a lot of BestBuy reward dollars plus got 10% back in Rewards for the month of June. Score!
