Tough call between this and Nikon 5300. Nikon has more mp etc, but the colors from the canon are much more vibrant. Go to the store and have them show you the image comparison. That did it for me. I was sold on Nikon until I compared the results of the t5i and 5300 side by side. Easy to use. Better interface than Nikon with easy touchscreen. Solid buy.

This camera was a gift for my sister who loves photography. She absolutely loves it! I've seen some of the pictures it takes and believe the lens and the quality of the pictures are spectacular!

I bought this camera as an upgrade from my Canon Rebel EOS xsi. I love everthing about it. It has a nice weight and feel to it - it's easy to hold. All the controls are easy to use and where I expect them to be. It's nice to switch between photos and videos with just one camera. The photos it takes are beautiful.

This camera was easy to use and took great pictures. My wife and I bought it for our honeymoon and I am by no means a photographer. I am a point and shoot guy at best. I bought it with the idea that it's easy to use for someone that doesn't know jack about photography and I could learn more later. The options will let me accessorize for my skill level, which is nice.

I take pictures as a hobby of mine and this camera is just what I needed. yes a newer one has come out since I bought it a year ago, but this camera picture quality is just amazing. Love it

By far my favorite camera I have used! I wish they came with better deals on memory cards though, if I am going to buy the camera for so much it should come with memory, or built in memory?

Still trying to learn how to use it, but I'm really excited about the pictures I've taken so far! It is fairly intuitive to figure out how to use.

Was debating on t5i or Nikon 5300 but decided on t5i and couldn't be more happier. Did a lot of research before purchasing and decided on it because of its easy to use and of its ergonomic compared to the 5300. I was also planning to use a lot of video function so the ultra quite STM lens was also Hugh factor. Thank you best buy for offering great service and products.

My wife got into photography and had an old Canon EOS 30D. This is far superior camera to the old model. Would also recommend Best Buy as the employee that helped us was very knowledgeable.

I LOVE this camera! I've always had luck with Canon cameras, and wanted something a bit better, with more features, than my Digital Elph. This camera is great! Takes great shots indoors and out, regardless of light levels. Really impressed with the quality of low-light images. It's very easy for an amateur to use, but will serve me well as my photographer skills improve. Overall, it's a great balance between amateur and pro level features at an amateur level price!

I've been without a camera for quite some time now and it has been wonderful to play around with this! Even though I'm not fully sure how to use it all, I'm still taking great photographs.

If you are looking for your first DSLR, this is the camera to buy. It feels great in the hands and take nice shots for a crop sensor. Imo Canon has the best lineup of lens and you can take full advantage of them. Touchscreen is a must of DSLR if you are using the live view. Cons, not as sharp as I would like. The hybrid AF in live view is not as good as the 70D. Only has a 30 min record time( most DSLR have that and its STUPID-----yes I know overheating) Only shoots in 30fps, so video aren't as "poppy" as opposed to 60fps(referring to youtube)... Overall, this is good camera as beginner DSLR or a backup to the 70D. BTW get a fast 50 mm with it

Great camera. It is very easy to use. I love the side view panel. This is by far the easiest camera I've ever used. I haven't printed out pictures yet. I'm sure they will look beautiful!

My teenage son is considering a career in photography and he is loving his camera. In addition to great photos, it takes great video. It's a great camera to learn the basics on.

this is my second cannon camera first was a film camera had for 15 years now time to move up to digital this camera is easy to use and does everything i could ask for graet cameraf

I love my t5i. I was drawn to it because it has a video monitor. I absolutely love it's stunning picture and video quality!

This is my 2nd lens camera and I have been taking awesome shoots. The camera is very light and you can carry it without a problem. The picture quality is awesome and they have a lot of options. I am still working in the shortcuts but I guees that I still need to learn how to use them.
