Customers are satisfied with the EOS Rebel T5i's image quality and ease of use, frequently praising its performance and user-friendliness. The touch screen and a variety of features are also appreciated. While some users wished for Wi-Fi and improved battery life, these concerns were less prevalent than positive feedback.

After doing quite a bit of research I decided to go get this Canon. It takes great photos, not too heavy, and has mercy on a beginner like me.

Easy to handle, light weight, touch screen is a plus. Swivel screen provides great protection for the screen. So far so good!

I'm a beginner DSLR camera user. Never own one before this but I did own several point and shoot before I got an iPhone. I didn't buy the camera to be a professional photographer. Just wanted to take nice pictures because I hated the camera on cellphones. I don't need this camera to do a lot but I did however, wanted the better video options to record my two little niece crawling or walking. This serves its purpose and I couldn't be happier with the price since I bought mine on Black Friday. I will invest in better lenses in the future but not right now. This is a good camera and easy to use! Manual was easy to understand also.

I'm a beginner photographer who was looking for a more top-line dslr. This camera is it. Don't waste your time on anything less (t3i or t5). I do wish this model had wifi capabilities, but oh well, I can be patient until my next camera. Everyone always complements me on the quality of the photos!

This camera is fantastic whether you are just starting out, or you are experienced with a camera.
I'm going to put this at the top of the rating, just incase you are looking for it: The T5i is not a full frame camera.
Now, moving on... This is probably the best camera out there for the price range. I spent weeks trying to decide between cameras. It boiled down to the T5i and 60D.
(The 60D has a digital display on the top of it, which is a huge selling point. However the dial on the top of the camera to select the camera mode is awful! You have to push a button to change modes which is basically a 2 handed operation.)
So I chose the T5i, and I am happy I did! The quality is fantastic, the shutter speed is great, and it feels good when you hold it.
The T5i basically has a point and shoot option - just leave it in automatic and everything looks amazing! My boyfriend has always taken awful pictures, but he takes great photos with this camera! The video quality is fantastic! It is crisp and fluid.
My one complaint about this camera happens when you shoot video. The auto focus is terrible when shooting video, so don't bother using it. It takes too long to focus and often focuses on the wrong thing. I knew this going into it, so I won't take off for it.
Overall, this is a great camera for videos or photos!

Results from this camera come close to results from Canon professional cameras, in the great majority of situations. The tilting view screen makes it especially versatile for shooting video and low-angle stills. Although the kit lens seems a bit flimsy, it produces very good results. The T5i is a good, affordable choice for amateurs and advanced amateurs, especially those who combine interest in video and still photography.

This camera is amazing! From the very first shot, my pictures have been really clear. I love all the features of the camera, which help me improve the quality of my work again and again. A small downside is learning all the features and setting on the camera. Luckily, you don't have to know everything before you can begin using the camera and getting quality pictures. The sheer capabilities of this camera far outweigh any time necessary to learn about it. I would strongly recommend this camera to anyone!

I completely LOVE everything about this camera, I received it as a gift for my birthday and I couldn't believe the picture quality. The best part is, the camera screen is touch screen, and it also flips out so you can see yourself if you're recording.

I've had compact cameras for years and finally decided to purchase my first DSLR when this went on sale recently. The camera is user friendly and the stock lens is very good quality (though I've since purchased upgrade lenses). I think this is a great starter camera. It offers a lot of features and the functionality is intuitive.

I bought this recently to use in my photography class. I am new to DSLR cameras and using a manual setting on a camera. I upgraded from a point and shoot.
So far, I have not found negatives about this camera, although with practice and experience that could change.
What I like?
* It feels nice in my hands.
* It was easy to set up to sync with my PC.
* The touch screen is a wonderful addition. You don't need to use it, but if you do, it makes whatever you are using it for that much easier.
* I am finding it to be very intuitive to find and adjust what I need to in order to get a great picture.
* Thanks to having had my first photography class prior to buying this camera, it was super easy to pull it out of the box, charge the battery, and take my first manual photo with very little fuss. I had not had a camera to play with in my first class, so this was just after paying attention and then finding it once I had my camera. Again, super intuitive!
I am sure as I continue to use this, I will have more positives and will continue to love it even more.

I bought this camera because it possessed all of my favorite DSLR features, for the most reasonable "first time DSLR buyer" price. You don't need the t6i to be perfectly honest. Over the years, I learned on the t2i, t3i, and t4i and have always loved and appreciated Canon's operating system. It's fantastic, easy to use, easy to learn, and always produces the highest quality photos. The flip out, rotating screen is the best part of this camera, and easily sets it apart from its competitors. It makes it so much easier to look through your photos at the end of the day, comfortably, and clearly (the display is unreal.) I do not however, use the touch screen as a feature, in fact I prefer scrolling and zooming in the old fashion way...sometimes i even forget it has a touch screen. The size and weight of the t5i is perfect for someone of my height (5'3") and build, especially in comparison to some of the bigger more advanced/expensive models like the 7D etc...which can be pretty daunting to tote around, or move freely with, while taking photos, in the moment. Also, I only charged the battery to a full charge once, after leaving the destination of my vacation, and have used it off and on for a month without it showing any signs of being low or dying. This camera is worth the investment, although at some point in the near future, you may want to get a better telephoto lens. I wasn't satisfied with the basic standard lens the camera comes with. If a package is offered when you make the camera body purchase, jump on it right then and there.

This camera is very easy to use for a beginner. The menu setup is not complicated and easy to navigate, settings are easy to adjust, especially with touch screen. This camera has been a pleasure to setup and take pictures with. I have had limited experience with other cameras that were confusing and this one was very straight forward to start using. Very clear pictures, love the touch screen and the ability to store screen reversed to protect it.
Only negative comment I have so far on camera is the autofocus in low light uses the flash. Other cameras have a red light on camera body to illuminate for autofocus in low light, the cannon actually pops the flash up and strobes the picture to autofocus which can be very annoying. That being said, this is the only issue I have with the camera.

This camera is pretty light and not severely bulky, but has all of the things you need from a good camera. The lens is pretty powerful and quick shots can be focused almost immediately. I even took many pictures while in a moving vehicle that didn't blur at all.

I have always wanted a camera, and finally decided to pick one out. Going into the store, the sales associate was so wonderful, and wasn't pushy and respected my time to look around. And the camera is fantastic! I wish I could take it everywhere with me. Great features for me just starting out, but advanced enough to keep for a long time.

I purchased this camera as a gift for my wife after the birth of our first child and we couldn't be happier with it! Neither of us are expert photographers, so we were thrilled to find out just how intuitive set up and operation is with this model. And the quality of the shots we have taken is amazing! I highly recommend this product...

Easy to use and takes fantastic pictures!! I was worried it would be overly complicated and I was completely wrong. With a quick learning curve, this camera makes the pictures I take look completely professional!
