Customers are satisfied with the EOS Rebel T5i's image quality and ease of use, frequently praising its performance and user-friendliness. The touch screen and a variety of features are also appreciated. While some users wished for Wi-Fi and improved battery life, these concerns were less prevalent than positive feedback.

I purchased this after returning the SL1 for primarily video use. I needed the flip out screen that the SL1 didn't have. Once you have your lighting set, it takes great video. But the 30 minute shut off on video recordings just didn't work for me.
I started out wanting to consolidate my XSi and my camcorder into one unit. I have found that this is a bad idea. There is no way to hook this camera up to a DC input for continuous shooting so you must have batteries with you. If you don't have batteries, then you are waiting a few hours for it to charge. Again, just didn't work for me.
If you are looking for a camera that takes great photos and really good videos, this is the camera for you. If you take long videos though, this is not the camera for you IMO.

The T5i may not be the cheapest DSLR body on the market, but it has everything you need and more to start in the world of DSLR photography. We have been wanting a nice camera for some time now and this camera with the two lenses is the perfect start.

She has been wanting a camera for the new addition to our family. She loves it's easy use and it's portability. Plus the pivoting lens is a great addition for family selfies.

Easy to use, takes great pictures, easy to adjust for manual settings, great lens that comes with it - love the image stabilization feature, wish it had 2 batteries but the one it does come with charges fairly quickly, have not tried the video mode yet

On the age of cell phones that can take really good photos one had to ask why one would need a large (relatively speaking) camera. Well, sometimes you need the power and focus of a physical lens and the Canon Rebel comes through. I am pleased thus far.
Photography is still expensive though.

I have used hundreds of professional photographic techniques with this camera and hasn't failed to impress me. The preprogrammed settings are spot on and allow for even the amateur photographer to take excellent photographs.
I only wish I had purchased the I6s for the wireless features

Great features that are super handy. Including, flip back to protect the view screen; the view screen mimics smart phone with it's touch features; super easy & fast video record; push button to easily take photos with the view screen (1st time I've had this option & makes easy photo taking for others borrowing); love the "force flash" button (use all the time, especially in back-lit situations, but can't use when in auto green bar setting). Many other great features. Purchased the remote RC-6, it slides right on the strap & I love using it (I'm able to get into many more of my own photos & allows taking great candid photos too). The T5i also works great with my old Canon Ultrasonic lenses & an old external hot seat flash. Only slight negative is to be careful of camera shake (I've had a few fuzzy photos).

Was looking for a replacement DSLR for my Nikon 5100. To my amazement, this one is far easier to use functionally than my old Nikon. The canon is more tuned for cinema, documentary, and internet shows we are working on. The nikon is an outstanding photo camera hands down, but the Canon is very video friendly. The touch focus is the best add on for on the fly shooting, it also tracks subject. The aftermarket hacks make is extraordinary for even more cinematography. Thumbs up Canon.

My fiancé researched picked out and I purchased this camera primarily for her. It is very user-friendly and seems to be a great camera so far. We just had a little baby and the camera is getting a lot of use. when I say a lot of use, I mean this baby is possibly the most photographed baby next to the little Royal baby in England. we are pleased.
