This camera is amazing. It’s performance is outstanding. It has opened so many creative possibilities. A camera that you won’t be disappointed. Great for portraits, family pics and more. And it fits perfectly in my camera bag with my DJI Mavic Air 2.

    A Great Purchase

I wanted to try a full frame mirrorless camera and I did not want to spend too much. I own a full-frame DSLR and quite a few crop sensor cameras so this was a test and see. I have used this camera twice since I purchased it in December. The image quality is excellent, which is the main purpose for my camera purchases. I am not interested in the video features. Another reason I went with the Canon RP is that I have quite a few Canon EF lenses and with the adapter, the lenses work perfectly. I only had to purchase the body. The price was right and the camera is so lightweight - makes it easy to use for street photography. I also plan to use this as my back up camera for an upcoming event. If you purchase this camera, get at least two spare batteries. That is the only downside and the reason it would only be a back up camera for events.

RP still worth it even in 2023

Still a decent camera for the R-mount lineup in 2023. 26 MP images are great for landscape and portraits. Pair this up with a 35mm or the 28mm prime and you have a really nice compact system with great quality. It can shoot 4k, but there is a crop and it looses dual pixel autofocus so I don't use it often unless it is for something very controlled and still (product shooting or landscapes). The 1080p looks really really good for it only being 1080p and it has that fast dual pixel auto focus. Small battery due to the body size, which is fine for the casual shooter and I've never had it go dead on me even after taking over 150+ images. Batteries are small and light enough that carrying one extra in your bag isn't a big deal. Single memory card slot and takes advantage of the UHS-ii speeds. Overall great camera for the price with the R-mounts.

I was thinking of upgrading to 6D II , but with adapter I can use my Canon 24-105 6D kit lens including 70- 300 also without cropping .Also I am retired photographer , still do limited work , I find Canon RP with light weight, and live view screen excellent especially when I had both eyes cataract operation with some times cloudy vision. Also missing of high speed sports shoot doesn't bother me , I am not into it , also low 250 shot battery is not issue for me with extra battery it is all well. I am not very technical on sensor but looks or colors almost same as 6DII as I read on net . Last but not list Best Buy gave me enough time to try EOS RP body to be tried in show room

I did so much research before popping on a camera. I wanted an entry level, yet feature-packed full-frame mirrorless and the EOS RP delivers. It’s easy to use with less steep learning curve than some other mirrorless on the market. The 35mm native lens is affordable and produces beautiful images. For the sub $1000 price point on the body, it really can’t be beaten. Only note-I don’t recommend buying with the zoom kit lens. I bought it used for cheaper to try it out and it’s just okay compared to the 35mm.

One of the best camera bodies for beginners looking to get into photography. Great for video and photo. All the features you need. The 4K only goes up to 24 fps and has a crop factor but it's definitely great to use as a genniner camera!

Image quality is awesome. The EF/RF lens adapter allows your old Canon lens to work flawlessly. This adapter is better than when I have used the Sigma MC-11 or Metabones adapter on my Sony cameras. My APS-C Canon EF-S lenses also work well. The only issue is it shoots as a 1.6 crop at only 10megapixels. This is still fine for uploading to social media, but for printing 10mp will give you about an 8x10 picture (max) with good resolution. The 1080p video is awesome. The feel of this camera and ease of use is unbeatable. There is really not much to dislike about this camera. My only concern is the RF lens prices are pretty astronomical. I'm not sure if they may a cheaper body only to upsell you on all these lenses. I'll have to save up for all these lenses that I want. For now I got the 35mm 1.8. It is a very good prime lens to pair with this camera. For now I've just been shooting around the house, but I can't wait to see what kind of images it makes when I go out. As always, Canon has some of the best colors around. They are so natural and vibrant. It does not compare to something like a Sony a7iii, but that is around 700 more. For a first FF camera you really cannot go wrong with this.

The Canon RP offers tremendous image quality, great focusing, & essential features of a full-frame camera at an affordable price. It's also considerably smaller than a dslr, perfect with a prime lens like the RF 35 or equivalent. I stepped up from the 80d & M5 and have been amazed by the quality & power of the RP

Very good camera, I had a 77D in the past and I needed a upgrade to match my 24-105 4L. This camera has it all and for a good price. Great quality and tons of features. It is a learning curve, but once you get there. Its amazing.

What an amazing little camera. I was hesitant to buy this camera after all the negative press it got, but with the price so low i couldn't pass it up as a second camera. The autofocus is top notch. Eye AF woks flawlessly. Pictures look great, the camera is extremely small and lightweight for a full framer, yet feels great in the hands. The camera DOES charge over usb-c, which is amazing because i no longer have to carry around the charger and remove the battery. Speaking of battery, it holds a really good charge, and extra batteries are cheap as it uses the same one's from the EOS-M series cameras. For less than a thousand bucks, body only, this camera is hard to beat.

Coming from a T7, this camera body is amazing. I do a lot of portrait and street photography and the rp has been great. Battery life is a little short, around three hours of street shooting, so grab an extra battery. Paired with the rf 24-70 2.8 it does great in low light. Not a whole lot of noise even around iso 6400, and Lightroom easily takes care of that. I could not be happier with this camera and it’s price point. Also, my dad uses an rp as well and had a wipe out on one of the downtown rental scooters and landed directly on top of it. We were afraid it would be crushed. He got up and the camera only had a small scratch and worked perfectly. It definitely made me feel a lot better about mine.

It really is the most underrated full frame mirrorless camera in canons family of mirrorless it is 100% a stills camera first and paired with an rf lens the images that come off this sensor are phenomenal. Not great for low light but for $1000 it really is great. As for the video side 4K is UNUSABLE but the 1080p looks to be downsampled i could be wrong but it looks incredibly sharp and with full manual controls you can really get a god image blowing away your phone or cheaper cameras BUT the face secretion does sometimes hunt for a few second so you could miss the shot but it’s very rare.

This camera fit the bill for everything we needed. Full Frame, light and portable, no need to purchase new lenses, wireless transfer, fast AF, and Canon's color science, which i've always been a fan of. I'm a semi-pro photographer who's used Canons for a long time (mainly the 5d and 7d series along with the first M series cams). I don't shoot sports, and this camera would not be great for that, but i do shoot portraits, landscape, street photography, architecture, etc. and this camera is great for that when you don't want to bring your behemoths with you. Additionally, i'd like to say that the adapter works flawlessly with my existing lens collection, which is a huge benefit since we all know how much of an investment good glass is. This obviously negates some of the portability of this camera when you're attaching big zooms but with primes or pancakes, this thing is nice and discrete. Finally, with firmware v1.4, a lot of the issues this camera initially had are all fixed. AF and tracking are awesome, frame rates for video are better, and a few other fixes. I don't use this camera to shoot a lot of video so, that's not a big issue for me anyway but for those who do, i believe 4k is still cropped. Maybe they can fix that in the future too. Overall, a great full frame mirrorless camera that you don't have to spend a fortune on and repurchase all new lenses if you're already on the canon ecosystem.

The Canon EOS RP is a compact and affordable full-frame mirrorless camera that delivers great image quality and works with both RF and EF lenses. It is easy to use and ideal for travel, portraits, landscapes, and more. However, it has a short battery life and poor 4K video performance. It is best for casual users and Canon fans who do not need advanced features.

This Canon EOS RP has blown me away with its' image quality. I started photography with film SLRs in the 1970s, through the 1990s, then purchased a Canon digital point and shoot. I've used DSLRs since 2007 including Nikons, Olympus and Canons. The RP is my first full frame camera and it has exceeded my expectations. I don't shoot videos, so I have no opinion as to video capabilities. If you do care a lot about photo quality and low price is important, then this RP is a perfect choice. Consider this the camera equivalent of a fine sports car or sports sedan. It will reward the photographer as those cars reward the driver.

I was going to switch to Sony for my move into mirrorless cameras. The thing is I would have had to buy new lenses to go with the new body and there a little more pricey then canon lenses. In fact I already had canon lenses. My main focus is photography and I really didn’t care about the video specs. I went and saw many reviews and studio work using the RP. The images are GREAT. Plus the adapter was only $100, compared to the $400 Sony adapter. This is really a great deal for beginners and professionals that are focusing more into photography, not video.

Pleasantly surprised by this camera. I upgraded to the R5 recently from the Eos R, but wanted a backup camera and something for my wife to use. I am surprised that I like the RP as much as the Eos R. And even more surprised that I almost like it as much as the R5. It takes excellent quality images, is super lightweight. It is the perfect size and weight to be just an all around “fun” camera to use. I look forward to taking it with me on my next vacation.
